Elizabeth Craft Designs card class

Hello!

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  I have some cards to share from a card class I attended a few weekends ago at my local scrapbook store.  The ladies that work there are so nice and when they said they were having a class I decided to sign up.  So happy I did.  I've seen the Elizabeth Craft Design products but never fancied myself to purchasing any.  After this class I did.  hahaha!  Below are the 3 cards we made each with a few different techniques and some the same.  All I can say is, if you like glitter you will love it after using these products!

This is the first card we made.

We used this awesome glitter, some vinyl pieces and some fun techniques to make this beautiful card. We also used our Copic markers to color the flowers.  I sent this one to my grandmother for her birthday.  Her favorite color is purple so before I sent this I colored a few of the flowers purple.  Unfortunately I didn't take an updated photo.  This next card was another fun one to make...

This is another of those vinyl images, I think she's called Fashionista.  There are also two more girls in the set along with some fun additions.  This would make a fun card to send to your favorite fashionista or you could add a birthday sentiment...  This last one was my favorite!!

I waited until I got home to finish this card.  I wanted to add some dimensional pop up to parts of this card.  I wish I could share all the products used but I honestly don't remember.  I do know that those flowers are not what they seem.  I wish I had more of that paper we used to make them.  Will have to keep checking back with Laura & Laurie to see if they will be getting any of that in.  It's really cool!  Sorry to be so vague, but I don't remember writing down the name of that paper.  All I know is that it's awesome!!  hahaha!

Well I hope your Monday starts off great and that the rest of the week is just as good.  Thanks for stopping by to see what I've got up my crafty sleeve.  Take care!

KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #46

Hello!

There's a brand new challenge starting today at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday challenge.  The theme should be a fairly simple one so hope to see you all join.

Girly cards
Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps

Make sure to pop on over to the blog and see all the details, while you are there make sure to stop by my teammates blogs and leave them some love.  We were lucky to receive a few images to play with.  Here's the gift card holder I made using the Heels - Cheetah digi.  I can see myself using this image for a few fun cards for the future.   Anyways, let's get to my giftcard holder:

I know a few girls at work who would love this!  hahaha..  I kept it pretty CAS adding some red cardstock and goldish/brassy glitter paper.  After coloring and fun-cutting out the heels I glued everything down.  This is the back of the gc holder, here's the front:

Using a few dies, stamps and a pretty sparkly ribbon, I had no trouble putting this one together.  I did have to change the ribbon, the other one looked super sad.   (haha)  Below is the inside using more dies and sentiment stamps.  I couldn't find a gift card that was related to shoes, but when I do get one it'll look perfect inside this holder...

Hope I've inspired you to get Girly with us for the next two weeks.  Remember follow the guidelines for a chance to win the prize from our terrific sponsor, Bugaboo Digi stamps.  Click HERE for the all the details.

DT Call!  Two of our wonderfully talented teammates have decided to step down.  We need to fill their spots.  If you're interested in joining a fun group of ladies and would like to work with some adorably cute digital images we'd love to have you join us.  Term starts June 2015.  Click HERE for all the details.

Okie dokes, time to sign off and see where this Aloha Friday takes me, hopefully some place fun.  Here's wishing you a fabulous day as well!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

A bookmark for Grandma

Hello!

Today I wanted to share the fun bookmark I made for my Grandma's birthday.  She loves to sew and read so I decided to make her a sewing themed little gift to go with some of her favorite authored books.

First off I used some beautiful dies from La-La Land Crafts.  The February Club Kit was a sewing theme.  So many gorgeous dies and other lovely pretty things came with the kit.  I haven't had a chance to play with everything except the dies and one of the sentiment stamps, but I'll make some time to put all the projects together soon.  Below is a close up on the detailed filigree scissors, and the measuring tape ribbon I used.

I also used a stitched border die from MFT to keep the theme going all the way through.  I found a baby button brad and it worked perfectly on the scissors.  I bet your wondering if the scissors close, well take a look...

They do!  hahaha!  Well I guess as long and you don't tighten the brad too much or glue it down you should be able to open and close them.  So cute!  You also receive a buttons border die and some separate buttons.  As you can see I used them on the side of the bookmark and on the washi cut banner.  That sentiment also comes with the kit.  I sew love this set (pun intended hahaha).

Grandmother really liked it and she said she'll use it as she's reading all the books we sent to her.  I am so happy!!  If you're interested in how the kit club works click HERE.  There are so many options to choose from and you don't have to wait to get them in a year!  So handy and so darn cute!!  Okie dokes, this is as good a time as any to say... Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  I'll have an Aloha Friday challenge post tomorrow, hope you'll stop by to see what it is and then join our challenge.  Ta-ta for now!!

LFF #87 - Sweet Friend

Good morning!

It's been a while since I shared something for Lilo's Fun Friday so today I wanted to share the card I made for my Secret Sister Swap partner.  I haven't mailed it to her yet, so I won't reveal who it is, but I don't think it will hurt any if I share the card.  Here's LFF #87 featuring Ayako from Sister Stamps.

I pulled some reds, whites and that beautiful washi paper my cousin Shar GD sent to me back in March.  Most of this card was put together using MFT dienamics dies, except for the embossing folder on the banner, Ayako, the washi paper and the card stock.  I followed this sketch from MFT for a quick and fun layout:

I have been wanting to use that "Friend" Dienamics die for quite some time and so happy to have found this cool sketch to incorporate it in.  The rest of the Dienamics used include:  Blueprints 6, Blueprints 13, Botanical Beauty, Mini tabs foursome, Tropical Sensations sentiments and the Friends like us stamp set.  The embossing folder is called Oriental Sunshade.  I really enjoyed putting this one together, especially pulling out Ayako and adding her here with pink hair!  She's sweet!

Mahalo for stopping by to see what I've been doing the past couple of days.  It's been fun sharing again and getting to visit some of my favorites blogs.  Until next time, have a wonderful weekend and Happy Aloha Friday!  Happy crafting!

Easel card with Mermaid Anya & Friends

Hello!

Yep this is my second post!   Haven't done that in ages!!  hahaha!  Thought I'd share the last project we finished during the card swap at Kathy's house.  Here's the adorable easel card Kathy put together for us:

Isn't it cute?!  I love how she incorporated every element, including the dots in her hair!  "Her" being special gift Mermaid Anya.  Loved the fun beach themed papers and underwater stickers she added.  Yes more stickers!  I don't usually use stickers, but I picked a few fun ones that added an additional cute factor.  Without further ado, here's my card:

So just about everything is the same except for the underwater friends.  I thought adding the smiley faces would be a lot of fun.  Once you open the card it turns in to an easel card.  Kathy die cut the sentiment, "Meet me under the sea" after printing it from the computer.  Adding a couple more sea creature friends and some pop-up dots and the sentiment was perfect for the stopper.

I have to say this was a lot of fun to put together.  Kathy always comes up with the cutest cards imaginable.  Another fun card to add to my somewhat growing card stash and another successful card swap in the books.  Yippee!!  hahaha!

Okie dokes thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been up to.  Hoping to get all of those colored images I colored during the #thedailymarker30daychallenge on to some cards or 3-D projects.  Have a nice TBT!!

Card in a box - Happy Easter

Hello!

Today I'd like to share the 2nd project we made at Kathy's house.  This cute card-in-a-box is featuring a very familiar bunny from Kitty Bee Designs.  I know Easter is over, but I couldn't not share this...  Here's Linda's project:

Super sweet yeah?  Linda also used stickers to create this fun little scene.  Here's my version using some of the other cute stickers.

Love that fun bunny in the background!  He's asking, "Got eggs?"  hahaha!  Too cute.  This was only the 2nd project I made for Easter.  Hoping with the next holiday I'll be able to create more.  Thinking I"ll need to start soon!!  Yikes!

Have a great day and who knows I might have another post later today... hehehe!

Yay it's your birthday!

Hello!

Hope everyone is doing well.  Today I thought I'd share a birthday card.  FYI, I made this card last year and somehow it missed getting posted.  Well better late than never right?!  :)

Victoria's Night out

Please bear with me as I try to remember what I used here.  It features Victoria from Stamping Bella's Victoria & Juliette's night out stamp.  If you remember I used Juliette on a previous card, click here for more details.  If you remember, or not, this stamp actually has both girls with their arms intertwined, like drinking buddies.  Well as with the other stamped image I inked up all of Victoria and wiped away as much as I could of Juliette.  Once stamped I used Copics to color her in.  Going for a night out theme I used silver colors with white, black and pink accents.  I also chose more glitter papers to use.  They add a little extra something to the card, without having to add too much more detail.  Since it was a night out theme I used the MFT Skyline border dies for a fun border.

Here is a close up of the bottom of the card.  As you can see I used a lot of the glitter paper.  I bought several stacks when they were on sale at Joann's.  What I love about this paper is that it's smooth to the touch.  See the sentiment from AmyR?  I stamped it on acetate.  I was looking for vellum, but couldn't find any in my stash so I decided to try acetate/transparency paper.  Instead of using Memento ink I used Staz-on.  It was perfect!!  I used a spray on adhesive to tack it down and love how clean it looks, no glue marks in sight and I didn't have to add any embellishments to hide those "marks"!  YAY!  I will definitely be experimenting more with Staz-on and acetate/transparency paper.

Well that's all for today.  Thanks a lot for stopping by!

Dollie with Cupcake

Hi!

Hope you're all doing well.  About a month ago I went over to Kathy's house to spend some crafty time with her, Linda and their friend Belia.  We each made a card and then made kits for the others.  I shared the card I designed here, and today I wanted to share the waterfall card designed by Belia. Here is her card featuring the adorable TGF Birthday Anya II along with a picture of the inside of the card.

Adorable yeah? It was a little tricky to do the mechanism part, we're not engineers, but we are determined and with helping hands we were each able to get it working. This is one cool card! We each received different colored base pieces, I got pink with green. I ended up finishing it at home and here is my end result.

I used another TGF image, Hello Dollie with Cupcake, because the card was huge she fit perfectly.  Now what's funny is the outside of the card does NOT match the inside of the card.  As far as colors and theme.  lol..  Not sure what I was thinking but since everything is already glued down I can either pull it apart and use another card base or leave it, will have to think about that.  For now, it's as is. hahaha!  Here are a couple pages of the inside...

See, so not matching the front, except for the lone cupcake.  hahaha!  The full version of the card can be viewed in the short video below.  I wanted to share the actual waterfall effect.  It's sooo cool!  My assistant was my mother.  Gotta give her some credit she was very patient with me.  (lol)

After making this one I wanted to re-create it again so in a future post I'll share the second one I made for my friend.

As always, thanks so much for stopping in to see what I've been up to.  Hope you all have a nice weekend!!

Kitty Bee Designs DT Spotlight

Good morning!

Hope you are all recovering nicely from the Easter weekend.  Today I'm sharing a spotlight of the card below over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog.

I don't know about you but I'm always running out of cards for my stash.  The one that I don't have too many of are baby cards.  I used the cute sheep from the KDB Zodiac Set II in the Etsy shop to create the card above.  Other materials I used: MFT bib die, a fun embossing folder to give the white cardstock a nice texture, the sentiment is computer generated and the patterned paper is from my stash.
Keeping the card CAS was the key here.  Now I have something cute to add to my stash and use when the occasion arises.

Hoping this inspires you to create more with less and to add a Kitty Bee Designs image to make it the cutest!!  Don't forget about our current challenge, information HERE.  Happy April and thanks so much for stopping by!!!
