Dodgers Update

Hello, just got to work and my co-worker Doreen did not dissapoint.. Here is a picture of the fabulous cake she made. Not bad for it being her first time with this design. She went for simple like the cards I made. I think it looks fabulous. Can't wait to taste it. It's carrot cake! :)

Here I paired the cake with the Dodger Fan card:

And here I paired the cake with the Dodger Chef card:

Till next time...

Dodger Blues

Good morning and Happy Wednesday. The week is almost over and it's raining in L.A! Yesterday was beautiful weather and now it's raining! Ah well, we need the rain, just that it brings out the worst drivers ever! haha..
Today's cards are for a co-worker's birthday. He loves the LA Dodgers so I thought I would attempt to, if not get it correct, at least get part of the uniform matching.. The only item that I could match was the hat.. Aw well, I'm sure he'll like it anyways cause its Dodgers..
First card: Dodger Blue Fan
I used Baseball Ian and altered the hat with the LA Dodger logo. I kept it simple with just blues, grays and some white and a touch of red.. Oh yea and punched circles and made them into baseballs... simple simple..

Second card: Dodger Blue Chef
I used Chef Ian and altered him into a her. Adding a ponytail and changed her eyes and added glasses.. Gotta say it, I love her! haha.. She is sort of a replica of my co-worker Doreen who is a master chef.. She is going to make a cake in the image of the ball that I have here on the platter.. Crossing my fingers she didn't deviate from the plan. Again keeping it simple with blues, grays and some white. Only a touch of color on the cake and the candle.. You probably can't tell but I diamond glazed the cake to make it shine.. Oh and added a little bit of glitter to the candle flame.. Try click on the image to see a close up..

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Wednesday and if you live in Cali, stay dry and drive safe!!!
Aloha!

Supplies used:

Happy Sunday, actually looking forward to going back to work.. I know, I sound like a crazy person, but I guess you have to have some of those days.. haha..
Well I had some free time today and decided to make a Valentine's day card using the newest TGF WS Stelllllaaaaa... haha.. Just had to do it..
I love the colors here, not your normal Valentine's day colors, (prussian blue, strong red dark pink & white) but I like to mix things up a bit. I wrote in the sentiment in the heart myself...

Here is the inside of the card... Thought it was a cute end to the front as a "Valentine" day sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by... Have a good night...
Supplies used:
Card stock: hanko designs indigo paper; dark pinkish red card stock
"love" dp from me & my big ideas
colored with copics: prussian blue & strong red, baby skin pink, blush & light pink
red icon gems
navy blue ribbon
punches used: nesties scallop squares (lrg & med), fiskars fancy hearts large and small and stampin up hearts

I am totally in love with this stamp by CA&F DT Amy Young.. She is just so cute and I was so happy when I got her in the mail last week. I paired her up with some bright pinks, oranges and a hint of apple green.. She was fun to use and I can't wait to use her and her other new friends again.

Glitter it

The TGF FFF challenge is to use glitter and glue.. Here's what I came up with:

Made a white window card using a nesties flower med punch, embossed with stampin up elegant bouquet, glittered the flowers on the front of the card with glue and judikins irridescent sparkle powder, added a small nesties flower punch with a circle punch for the sentiment. The inside of the card is stamped with one of the Love Anya stamps, she's a beaut! Colored her with rose red, dk brown, ice blue & skin white, also outlined her with a dark pink nesties flwr punch and the lrg nesties oval punch. Will be giving this one to my sister, cause I loves her. Here's a close up of Love Anya inside the card. I added some glitter to the flower ctrs and her bow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Maile's Monochromatic Green Frame

Ok, I think this will be the late post for the night/morning.. I'm going to post one more item i just finished and will try to post the rest of the challenge cards I made during the next few days...
*****
I was going to enter this in the Monday Mania Monochromatic hosted by Jenn Borjeson,on the CA&F blog but I just finished reading the new rules for the CA&F challenges and I don't qualify since I used the fairies Eva and Tink. I altered the other fairy and used Ebony's face instead. Ah well, I'll try to do something else for the challenge instead.. Bummer though, I enjoyed making this one, especially with the green papers.. The swirls were cut with the Cricut from the Serenity cartridge. I made this frame for my friend's niece who just turned 5! Her favorite color is green, so I thought this would be a great entry, but alas I should have read the rules before.. sigh...

This is a wooden #5 I found on sale at Michael's. I wrapped it with some green Bazzil paper and embossed using the Cuttlebug argyle folder.. If you look you can see a little friend peeking out...

Okie dokie, have a good night or morning and Happy Wednesday!! Thanks for stopping by.. =D

Sketches 4-7

Sketch #4

My card: Expecting Papa.. Love the colors used for this sketch. I had a lot of fun making it...

Sketch #5

My card: Rainy Day, Flowers in bloom... This was a cool sketch and I tried to do simple with this one.. Had that paper forever!!! haha

Sketch #6

My card: Expecting Mama.. I really loved how this card came together.. Loved the color combos and the sketch really made it work..

Sketch #7

My card: Rockin' It was used also for the 3pm Amy's Ad challenge at CA&F.

Here's what AMY had to say about this fantastic Challenge:

AD INSPIRED

I love to look at interesting color and pattern combinations when I'm browsing through home dec magazines to see if they would work on my cards. This funky bedroom set really got the wheels turning for me because I loved the pops of bright lime, teal and violet against the crisp white so that became the base for this card. I also was drawn to the paint splatter effect on the bedding so that found it's way onto my card as well. And there is still so much more that can be pulled from this photo, like all the stars and references to music... really the possibilities for inspiration are endless! I can't wait to see how you interpret this idea into a card now!

And HERE is Amy's amazing sample:

Isn't it the cutest ever?!! And guess what? Amy designed the cute Wild Sprout Ruby image.. Isn't she the cutest thing?!!! =d

New Year & Sketch #3

Hello and Happy 2010!!!
Sorry I have been posting, but I plan to change that at least for a little while..
Let's see, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday and enjoyed yourselves. I certainly took advantage of the break from work to try to finish all of the cards for the TGF challenges as well as the CA&F weekend extravaganza challenges..
Well here are the rest of the cards I made for both the TGF 12 DOS and the CA&F challenges. I must admit that I used some cards for both challenges to save on time...
All stamps used were from The Greeting Farm and colored with Copics. As for the paper, most of the paper used was from Bazzil, Making Memories, DCWV, K&Company, SEI, some origami paper and some others I can't remember.. >.< So many scraps left over.. Going to have to put all the scraps together for another time.. Punches were either from EK, Martha Stewart or Stampin' Up! Spellbinders, Cuttlebug embossing folders..
I last posted my sketch #2 card.. So here is #3:
Sketch #3

My card: Happy Birthday Ian... Listening to some tunes on his Ipod.. Given to my Coworker for his birthday..
