LFF #37 - A Hello Kitty card

Happy Friday everyone!!

Can you believe today is the last day of August?  Whew, time is flying by too fast!!  Hope you all have been well and have you all seen all the cool new releases from Sister StampsThe Greeting Farm?  Whoa, so many cute new stamps! hehehe..

Today I wanted to share a card I made for my co-worker's niece.  Her birthday is tomorrow.  He told me she likes Hello Kitty so I made this cute little card with a HK stamp I've never inked up before.  So glad I bought these from Pineapple Cove when I did.  Although its my first time inking one up I'm glad I have them to go to in times like these.  Cause let's face it, HK is very popular and these stamps are so small it takes about three swipes of a marker to color! hahaha! Love it!

I just now realize that the colors here don't really mesh, but IRL they look perfect! hahaha!!  I'm using the same die I used in my previous card but instead of going really big I went with the smaller layers.  The banner sentiment is an AmyR one that is one of my go-tos, have I mentioned I love her stamps? hehee..

Now that I look at the sentiments, maybe I should have used this one on the outside! hahaha!!  Oy vay, sister needs some sleep! hehehe..

Okie dokie, have a great long weekend and don't forget tomorrow is the last day to take part in the 1st Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge.

Mahalo for stopping by!

Lilo

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Hello!!

As you know it was my friend's daughter's birthday on Friday.  We celebrated by going to Disneyland where she had a terrific time.  Sunday was her actual party and that morning she was baptized.  It was truly a full weekend of celebrations for her and she was as energetic and happy as if it was second nature for her to be on the go.  I made another birthday card for her to go along with the present and also tried to make it a lot more special.  I picked one of the adorable Beans from The Greeting FarmGlimmer Bean and made a floral shaped card.  I think this little girl looks a lot like Lauren so I was happy to use her.

Please excuse the quality of the picture.  I forgot to take one before giving it to the birthday girl, luckily I was able to take one afterwards when I visited them yesterday.  Lauren's colors are green & pink so I had to find the perfect shades to work with.  I had some long forgotten paper pads that helped and used some embossing folders and a nesting flower die to create this fun card.  The sentiment is from AmyR and the "1" was cut using a Cuttlebug die.  Lots of dots and polka dots.  The dp in the center is from a Heidi Grace paper pad and I love that it matched my theme.  Isn't Glimmer Bean adorable?!  I trimmed her out this time, but she normally has a lot of cute curly cues and fun stuff around her.  Marie did a terrific job on this line.  I know there is another Bean being introduced today on the TGF blog so head on over there to get the deets.

Here is another shot that kinda looks like an instagram... hahaha!

Okie dokes folks... hehehe...  I've been trying to get to your blogs to leave some love so if you get a few from me don't be alarmed just trying to catch up.  You are all so wonderful for leaving me super awesome messages, I'll try to keep up with mine.  Take care!!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #88

Hey everyone!!

We're having another fun challenge over at the Lollipop Crafts blog this week and guess who's late in posting?  Yep, that would be me!  Well I hope you won't hold it against me!  (hehe) It was a pretty jam-packed weekend and it was non-stop so I didn't get a chance to upload my challenge share until now.  I hope you will join us for our Back to School challenge this week.  Hop on over to the blog and check out what the A-Team has to inspire you.  They did a wonderful job (as always)!  And also you'll want to know who our sponsor is this week.  Stop by the LC blog on Wednesday to check out the T-Team sponsor spotlight on Eye Candie Creations.

I made another bookmark, because you can't have too many.  I found this really cool anime girl in a school outfit that was perfect.

I colored her up with greens, dark grays, blues and pink!  Yep, I've been itching to color up some pink hair and this was a perfect image to do that.   Her name is Tohru Honda and the lineart is by Sureya.  I just love all of Sureya's sketches and lineart.  They have that awesome anime/manga feel.  Too bad I can't color as well, but I'm still practicing.  I think I'll purchase Zoe's series of coloring tutorials.  I seriously need some help! lol..

Anyhoos,  I thought it would be fun to trim the image narrow so that her flowing hair goes off the edge.  Matted the image to a piece of black cardstock and see the ribbon on top?  Well I didn't have any black or green handy so I used my Copics to color one black and one green to match her outfit.  Pretty cool how you can use Copics to add some color to match your accessories and colored image. :)

Well friends, I hope you are inspired to create some Back to School items and then share with us on the LC blog.  We'd love to come and ooh and ahh! :)  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Take care,
Leanne

LFF #36 - A little bee for Lauren

Happy Friday!!

Today is my friend's daughter's 1st birthday and we're taking her to the happiest place on Earth!  Yay for Disneyland!! I hope she stays awake to see all the fun things there are.. Do you ever wonder if they know what's going on? hahaha! Well I am super excited because I love Disneyland! I think it will be fun for her too.

So for today's Lilo's Fun Friday I wanted to share this card that I thought was fun for today.  Using the adorable Bee Tia from SOG I made this really CAS card.  I made a similar card some time ago, just changed up the colors on this one to black & yellow.  This is one of the cutest bees I've ever seen.  I'm going to give it to Lauren (actually to her mom) for today. It might stand out in her pink & green room. lol!

Whoa that yellow ribbon sure is bright! hahaha!! Neon yellow I think! lol... It's actually much softer looking IRL.  Well friends, hope you all have a terrific Friday and weekend.  I've got a busy weekend too and hoping to squeeze in some crafting somewhere.

Don't forget that Yumi & Fumi Handmade is having an Anything Goes challenge.  You have another week to play along for a chance to win a Yumi & Fumi stamp.  What are you waiting for?!!

Until next time, Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,

Dark & Light

Hey!
Can anyone remember what you used to use before Copics? (haha)  I know for some of us we like to think there was nothing BC (Before Copics) haha!  Well usually I bring my Copic bag with me for occasions where I have time to color.  Yesterday I had some time at work to color. This time I didn't bring them and I only had a few Copics (E00 & E21) in my drawer.  I was looking in another drawer and found some Joann's Essentials markers!  Hey why not..  I know I can't blend or anything, but what the heck right?

So I printed off two images of Jules from Saturated Canary.  I started to color one and ended up going a bit dark on her.  Used some fun Halloween-ish colors and just had fun...

Doesn't her hair look like grapes?!!  hahaha!! Don't look too closely, cause there are tons of mistakes.  But I think they still look pretty decent.  Here are the markers I used to color these two with.

Now I wanted to go light on the other image so I pulled the softer colors out and here's how she turned out..

She looks a bit better yea?  Well not all that much. hahaha..  Still had fun coloring her up.  Here are the markers I used on this image...

It was fun going back in time to use some much unloved markers.  I usually keep these at work for the kids that come and visit during Christmas.  Can't believe they still work!

Here they are side by side.  Dark & Light...

Pretty different huh? As much fun as these were to use I still would not trade in my Copics! hahaha!

Don't forget to stop by the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog we're having our very first challenge so pop on over and check it out and we hope you play, the theme is ANYTHING GOES!! Mahalo for stopping by today! Have a lovely day!

Challenge @ Yumi & Fumi Handmade

Hey everyone!!

I'm not gonna complain about how the internet has not been my friend this weekend.  I'm just gonna type until I'm done and be thankful that I can now.  So this is really late, but it couldn't be helped.  (lol)

Today is a special day for us at Yumi and Fumi Handmade because TODAY starts our very first official challenge. Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog, will be having bi-weekly challenges, and YES, there will be some prizes involved, HIP, HIP HOORAY!! :)

Our challenge for the next two weeks is an easy one!

ANYTHING GOES!!

Since this is our very first challenge, you can use any image you want!! But for the rest of the challenges you will only be able to use what we sell in the shop (Y&FH stamps & Sister Stamps)

Be sure to head on over to the blog and check out the details and see some wonderful Y&FH creations by the amazing DT.  Also, you'll definitely want to come like our Facebook Fan Page so you can stay up-to-date, get your challenge reminders, and share your creations.

The shop is almost ready, so be on the look out for updates.

I used Fumi with Umbrella for my little 4x4 card today.  She's mounted on top of a piece of dp from the Basic Grey Konnichiwa paper pad.  I matted that on to turquoise cs from Recollections and white Neenah cardstock that I embossed with a cherry blossom Cuttlebug folder.  She's colored with Copics and I used a couple pop dots to give her dimensional look.

Hope you can join us and remember this time around you can use any image for this bi-weekly challenge but starting on September 2nd you will be limited to only what we are selling in the shop.  (Y&FH stamps or Sister Stamps).

Mahalo for stopping by, you all have a great evening!!

Back 2 School

Hey!!

I'm poppin' in to share a quick tag I made using The Greeting Farm's, WS Annika (retired).  I've had this little gal colored for a year, maybe more and she's been hangin' out on my computer at work.  I saw the latest or almost over FFF challenge, Back to School, so I thought I'd create a quick tag.

She's colored in grays so I thought something fun and bright for the back drop.  I found that dp in my stash and also that red cs.  I made that apple by hand which didn't take me that long.  I love how it turned out.  The sign is handwritten.  I drew in the lines with pencil and used a blue Sharpie for the words.  I thought it would be fun to create the same line paper we all know and love from when we first started writing way back in Kindergarten.  Now kids are learning how to write in pre-school!!  Craaaazy!!

Wow, it's been forever since I used a TGF stamp.  I've forgotten how much I love them.  Will need to play with them more, especially since I have most of them.  hehehe...

Okie dokie, hope everyone is having a great day.  And for those of us in So Cal, try to stay cool!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne

Lollipop Crafts #86 - Sponsor Spotlight

Hello everyone!!

It's been a while for me. Hope you all have been doing well.  I've been trying to stop by blogs and check on what you all have been up to because honestly it's just been to hot to craft!  Whew, you all just inspire me to create.  Been having some power issues with the heat and all, but hopefully things will start to cool down and no more FLEX hours.  A girl can only hope, right? :)

This week at Lollipop Crafts I am so excited to share about our sponsor for challenge # 86, La-La Land Crafts. Irina is offering the winner of this week's Lollipop Crafts #86, "Fun in the Sun" challenge a $10 gift certificate to the La-La Land Crafts Store. Don't forget to play along.  Now here's a little bit more about our sponsor:

"Welcome to your happy place, your crafting La-La Land"
Owned by the dynamic duo of Irina Blount & Eric Berry, La-La Land Crafts has been debuted in July 2009 when they introduced their first character La-La.  In August of 2010 they introduced two very special characters to the world, Marci & Luka.  We have come to think of them as the ambassadors of La-La Land Crafts.  They also have a very sophisticated line called Girlfriends and a fun line of critters.  La-La Land Crafts specializes in red rubber stamps, digital images and recently added an amazing Die cut line.  Their main images of Marci and Luka are without a doubt fun to play with and can be used in so many different settings.  That can also be said for all of their images and now die cuts.  With so many versions of Marci and Luka you can't help but think of them as your own kids.
Not only do they have amazingly talented owners, but they pride themselves on bringing these images to life with their fabulous design teams.  Stop by the La-La Land Blog and you'll definitely be inspired.  Each month you can upload your new La-La Land Crafts creations to the Customer Gallery and who knows you just might win a prize. .  Did you know that they can also credit having one of the only Kids Challenge Blogs?  Yes, kids 16 and under can play along in their bi-weekly challenges for prizes and visit for inspiration.
With a huge following in the UK and the USA, if you're not a fan of La-La Land Crafts, you will be.

For my project I chose to do another tag/bookmark using one of my favorite Luka images, Sitting Luka and the Brick Wall stamp.  He's hanging out at the beach checking out the Summer sunset.

I have to admit that I colored Luka months ago and only now decided to add him to a project.  Sorry, that means I have no idea what Copics colors I used on him. :(  If I can remember I will be sure to update.  I handwrote "ALOHA" on to the front of his cap, turned out pretty cool.  I found some cool paper and trimmed it to the width of the brick wall.  Distress inked the edges all around and topped it off with some thick twine.  He's actually popped on some pop dots.  I think I waited for the right time to add him to a project.

Don't forget to visit the rest of the A-Team this week over at the LC blog and you might see something fun from Mama La-La, Irina.  They have more fun La-La Land Crafts projects to share.  Mahalo for stopping by today and hope you get a chance to play with us at Lollipop Crafts!

Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #35

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!  (Well what's left of it - hehehe)

Poppin' in to share a tag featuring Miyoko of Sister Stamps for today's LFF #35.  Something very simple and cute using some colors I wouldn't normally use together, but somehow work.  Hope you like...

Pretty simple, but still cute because of Miyoko.  I've missed coloring up my Sister Stamps.  Maybe will have to play with them this weekend.  Making more tags would be fun too and super quick.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.  Stay cool out there and if you have a chance to craft have fun!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lilo

Lollipop Crafts #83

Hello everyone!

Thank you for hopping along with Lollipop Crafts for the past 4 days.  Hope you were able to get to each blog and comment.  I know I didn't really give you too much of challenge with mine, but most everyone got it correct.  Be sure to check out if you were a winner at the Lollipop Crafts blog.  Today we are back to challenges and for this one we want you to go monochromatic.  Make sure to head on over to the blog and check out what colors the rest of the A-Team chose.  You'll also find out who our sponsor is and all the challenge details.

I'm using a color that I very rarely see used.  It's yellow and I was in the mood for something bright and fun.  What could be more fun and bright then yellow, right?  I also think I have the perfect image to go with my color theme.  She's another adorable little girl from Mo's Digital Pencil and her name is Pineapple Girl.  Well I'm sure she has another name but the digital image is called Pineapple Girl.

Isn't she a cutie?  I could see her running up to me asking, "You like buy one pineapple?"  hahaha...  I'd buy a dozen.  hahaha...  Kept the layout of the card really simple.  Layered it up and see that yellow daisy looking doily?  Found that at the Dollar Tree.  Actually that might have been the deciding factor for me when I chose the color.  Loved the brightness of it, very summery.

Colored her up with several different shades of yellows.  After cutting out the image with a scalloped oval die and while the die was still in I used yellow ink (Colorbox - Canary) to add some pretty color around PG to give her a fun frame.

Make sure you also get a chance to stop by the blogs of the A-team:
Alanna
Dena
Joanna

Hope you can play a long with us.  Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a great day!
Hugs,
Leanne

Kalei - Lilo's Fun Friday #34

*Click HERE to jump to the Lollipop Crafts blog hop post*

Aloooohaaaa!!! Happy Aloha Friday everyone! :)

Before I start I wanted to wish my younger brother, David a Happy Birthday!! Happy Birthday brother!  :)

Today is LFF #34 which happens to be my favorite number.  Don't know why, it just is.  LOL!   For today's share I made a tag for fun.  Using punches and textures; threw in a few of those quilled circles I made with some scrap paper and this adorable keiki named Kalei, from Mo's Digital Pencil. Can you believe I printed her out months ago and only now found time to color her and use her on a project?  I know I so crazy! hahaha!

Oh, doesn't she just make you want to head to the beach or a luau on the beach?  She was really fun to color and I love the bright colors contrasting with her nice tanned skin.  The tag itself measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".  The tag was a leftover of a make & take we created for our Carson show.  (Will have those pictures up for you soon).  I thought the branches resembled palm tree fronds and the quilled circles, coconuts.  :)
Lucky me, there is an Anything Goes challenge at DP2 Challenges, so I think I'll play along. :)

Pretty short and sweet today.  Mahalo for visiting me this week.  It's so nice reading everyone's comments, knowing that you have support even when you've been MIBL (Missing In Blog Land).  I think I'm getting back in my groove and back to blogging and crafting.  Still have a ton of projects left on the dining room table that need to be finished, but for now I'm sharing these small projects, hopefully you like. :)  Have a fabulous Aloha Friday and a terrific weekend!

Hugs,
Lilo

HB2U - Lollipop Crafts 2nd Anniversary Hop

*Scroll down for my SCRS post.*

(Let's try this again!)
Aloha and welcome to the Lollipop Crafts 2nd Annual blog hop!  We're jumping in from our long hiatus with this celebratory blog hop.  You should have arrived from Sony’s blog, but if you didn’t you’re in for a treat!  You should head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog to start at the beginning because that's where the celebration starts!  You won’t want to miss out on any of the DT’s pages. Why?  Well there are hidden prizes everywhere!  Not only are there hidden prizes on our pages, but there are prizes hiding on the LC blog too.  The hop starts today, 8/1 at the Lollipop Crafts blog and will run until 8/4. That gives you plenty of time to get to everyone’s pages and comment.  Now it wouldn't be fun with just a blog hop right?  Of course not!  That's why we're also adding a Celebration Challenge to the mix.  All you have to do is create a project, card or 3-D, anything you like with a "Celebration" theme and upload it to our LC page.   It's a short challenge, running through 8/4.  The details are all on the LC blog post.  Including the long list of our wonderful sponsors.

We are also super excited to welcome our guest designer for August.  Please say a big Aloha to Barbara of Forgotten Scraps and creator of Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Did you all know that Barbara was on the very first LC design team?  She was and we are all excited to have her come back to help us celebrate.  Welcome Barbara, so happy to have you joining us this month! J

Now let's get to my share... I created this card using two little girls that are close to my heart.  Meet Yumi & Fumi from ______________(can you guess?).  (It shouldn't be too hard... LOL)
They wanted to help celebrate with a HB2U banner...

I cased my fellow, YFH DT, Eva's card that she posted here.  I colored Yumi (on the right) & Fumi (on the left) with Copics and the HB2U is also written with a Copic marker.  Yes you can use your Copics for things other than coloring.  I used the neglected chiseled side of the marker to write out the HB2U.  The hearts were punched out with two different punches and I layered the top ones up with pop dots.  Also used two different Fiskars border punches for the top and bottom.   The designer paper is from DCWV THE RUSTIC stack.  LOVE THIS PAPER PAD.  This card is a bit different than what I'm used to, but I like it and may use this one more often.

Before I send you off to the next blog, I want to thank those of you who participated in the June and July month long challenges.  You are all the reason why we are still here.  Thank you!
Don’t forget to leave a comment before you head on over to my team captain, Alanna’s blog.

Happy 2nd Anniversary Lollipop Crafts!  Cheers to many, many more!!

Mahalo for stopping by! J
Hugs, Leanne J
