Today I'm posting late, it's been a very busy week for me at work and I was zonked out last night and I forgot to pre-post, so here I am trying to write this up before I head out the door! Yikes! No worries it'll be short and sweet.
Today's share features another one of the Sister Stamps, Nobu. He's adorable with his contagious smile. He looks like he's ready to challenge someone to a drum off using his spinning drum toy. I actually have one of these and it's fun for a while, but like any drum it can get hard on the ears. LOL!!
This is a simple layout, I was very fortunate to have found this origami paper that I had in my stash. It's almost an exact replica of the drum! So I thought the paper could be one of the focal points and of course the cute Nobu. The sentiment is from a retired set from The Greeting Farm.
I kept the card colors neutral using black, kraft with the main color, a grayish-green and hints of white. I had a lot of fun coloring his hair, it's pretty cool how easy it was to color him up. Using some nested Spellbinder circles I embossed one with an Asian pattern and using some Distress ink gave it some depth. Added some twine and mounted it all on one of my favorite cardstocks from Hanko Designs. This turned out better than I expected. I'm still trying to do the CAS and I think I will probably use this layout a few more times.
Alrighty, time for me to get going. If you would like to link up your card or project, just for fun, then please feel free to use the in-linkz button below using a direct link to your project. Have a fantastic Friday and Mahalo for stopping by!
