Hello Friends,
This week at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are breaking from the norm a little for today's W.O.W. challenge with our first Photo Inspiration Challenge! Don't be scared, lol, it's easy. Aren't all the challenges like that? (hehe) Just make a project inspired by the photo below. You can use the colors, the butterflies, flowers, labels, whatever part of the photo inspires you to create, USE IT! : )
To see what the rest of the DT created and know what inspired them click HERE to be directly linked with the blog post.
This is such a girly photo, how can you just choose just one picture? Well I couldn't choose just one, but had to pick several. I loved the colors, the tulle in the lower corner, the fun scalloped labels, the bright pinks and the butterflies. When I saw these all together the first thing that popped in to my mind was Fairy Princess Ballerina!!!
So how did I create this whimsical fairy ballerina? Well first off I chose to use the new Ballet Anya digi, available in the online store. I blew her up to a pretty generous size without going overboard and colored her using the lovely lavenders and pinks from the picture then I stickled her up! Next I took inspiration from the butterflies and made her some wings using a clear butterfly stamp coloring it up with similar pinks and lavenders then also stickled the wings. I cut the wings in half and used masking tape to adhere to the back. The cool thing about that was that her wings actually fluttered!! I wish I could show you how they did without attaching a video. Let's just say, it was magical!! (haha) Because I didn't want to crush the wings I decided to go BIG 3-D on this card. So I popped her using some scraps of paper and cs and here is what it looks like from the side:
As you can see I used scraps from the same patterned paper to disguise the card stock. Love how it blends. I had some lavender tulle and used it to wrap around the border punch and then tied a knot with another strip of the same tulle. Since the tulle was kinda bulky the rest of the card went 3-D as well. I used a small scalloped circle to create the sentiment base and a circle punch for the actual sentiment. I used a sentiment stamp from ATS because it was perfect for this card. Here is a side view:
Can you see how everything is elevated? Added two paper roses to the sentiment and a black butterfly with colored pearls to give it a little added fun... Here is the card itself:
Does the layout look familiar? Well it should, I took inspiration from the Mystery Monday case'd challenge card by the talented Kim Dellow. The dp is also from the same K&Company paper pad, just used the pinks and purples instead. For more details on that challenge click HERE.
I have to be honest and tell you that I wasn't really sure how this was going to come out. I have to say I love it! All of this from the inspirational picture. WOW, if I could do it anyone can do it!! :)
