MIC Secret Santa Swap Share

Hello!

It's been raining the past couple of days, so happy to see the sun out, but we truly needed the rain. Hopefully we'll get more of it soon.  Today I wanted to share the card & mini calendar I made for my Make It Crafty Secret Santa swap partner on FB.  Whew!  (hahaha)  First up is the card featuring adorable Tinkles the elf.

I'm so digging the WOW with a touch of color.  In this case it was a little bit of blue, silver with some golden highlights.  Used a Darice die, Crafter's Companion embossing folder, TGF snowflake die, some MIC chippies, CC Designs "jingle" bell cutters,  MFT Grosgrain texture board, more of those white floral sequins and some white floss. For the color I used Copics and Tumbled Glass & Salty Ocean Distress inks.  I made it into a gate fold card that measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  A few more pics of the inside...

I did some selective embossing on the inside panel using the same embossing folder and used an AmyR stamp for the sentiment inside...

I ended up covering the back of the card with some pretty MS lace paper because the card base had warped from the glue on the inside panel.  I thought it was a pretty touch to add as a cover up.

Next up is the mini calendar featuring 3 MIC stamps: Fifi from the Mini Sprites setDaffodil Dell background and the sentiment from Just wanted to say.

There is also a mini chippie butterfly fluttering in the corner.  The card base is from American Crafts, and the mini calendar is from Taylored Expressions.  Thought it would be nice to gift my partner with something fun, functional and bright for 2015.

Well better get back to the craft table.  I have a couple projects for work that I need to prep for and it's probably going to take me all day/night.  Wish me luck!!  Happy Saturday!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

WOW.. Photo Inspiration... Oh So Thankful!

Hello everyone!
Wow, I can't believe it's already Wednesday.  Just two more days and my term as a Farm Fresh team member will come to an end.  Until then we have two more challenges to do!  So let's get to today's challenge which is a photo inspiration

Head on over to the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see what inspired the DT.  Also leave them some love since it's our almost last post.  :)

When I saw this was our inspiration I immediately thought of Thanksgiving.  And what better way to celebrate than with some pumpkins?  I loved the patterns on the table cloth and the glass mugs.  The colors were very Fall-like so I went with that theme.  Here's what I came up with:
Oh so Thankful with Oliver
Now when looking for an image I had to sort through several until I got to an oldie Oliver stamp (O&A My Fav Things).  I just had to figure out how I could incorporate a pumpkin into the image.  I inked up the image and wiped away the fish bowl he was originally carrying.  Then with a pencil first, I drew in the lines to make a pumpkin.  When I was satisfied with my lines I went over them with the same color using my Memento pen.  Last thing was to color him up with my Copics.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.  :)
The rest is a very simple layout.  The patterned papers are K&Company, I thought they resembled the table cloth in a way.   The cs is from an old DCWV fall stack and ties in all the reddish colors.  isn't the ribbon awesome? It was a gift from Irina, I love how fluffy the bow is.  Must find more of this gorgeous ribbon.  The glass beads represent the mugs on the table.  Lastly the sentiment is from the Spotlight kit and was perfect for my card.

Alrighty friends, time for you to get your thinking and creative caps on and show us what you get out of the picture.  I'll be back in the galleria catching up today, so let's see who links up first.  Hope you enjoy my share and that it brings you a smile to your 1/2 way to Friday day.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!

Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Photo Inspiration #4

Don't forget to add your link to in-links at the bottom of the post and if you remember also to the SCS site.  Thanks!!

I {heart} rainbows!!

Happy Wednesday!!
Today over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are playing with rainbows!!   Well no, not the real thing, just the colors.  (hehehe)  We want you to incorporate the colors of the rainbow in your project.  To see what rainbow makers the DT are, please head on over to the Farm Fresh blog.  :)

I had a lot of fun making my rainbow inspired card.  I used all of the colors in the rainbow and created this fun dimensional card.

I picked the Fairies from the new clear stamps set.   Had so much fun coloring them all.  Each is colored with the same rainbow colors just in different ways.  Their hair is two-toned and their wings are all sparkly.  Had fun coloring up the center image.  Used the colors of the rainbow and sponged each using my cloud stencil.  Kept the mushrooms a neutral color so that the rainbow colors would stand out.  When I took this picture I did several different backdrops, but the black really made the colors pop!  I really enjoyed making this card.

Alrighty, time to play with some rainbow colors.  The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!
Don't forget to use the inlinks to upload your card as well as the Galleria.  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > sketch 11, your blog, or SCS, and link up on today's FFC post!

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a fantastic Wednesday!!

WOW - Sketch # 11

Happy Hump day everyone!!  Hope you are all having a great week.

On behalf of the FFC Farmers, I want to say Thank you for your patience while the Galleria is getting fixed.  To get you up to speed, we are asking all of you to use the inlinks buttons at the bottom of each post to upload your project for each challenge.  We know the techs are working hard to get everything back, and want to say thank you to them also.

Today's challenge is a sketch by our awesome sketch-captain, Rachel.  Here's the sketch:

Head on over to the FFC blog to see what the DT has come up with.  I hear there are some kitties roaming around.  hehehe..

For my card I used one of the new Miss Anya Bags girls.

I tried my hand again at pleats, but I know forsure I definitely need more practice! hahaha!  I colored her hair using the BVs and you can't really tell, but the fun blue paper has stickles all around it.  This can be used for any occassion, even Christmas.  We'll see where it ends up.  More than likely with the rest of my un-used cards. hahaha..

Alright my friends, time for your to get sketchy.  Don't forget to upload your card using the INLINKS at the bottom of today's WOW post.   You have until next Tuesday, 12pm CST to link your card via Inlinks, unless otherwise noted on the blog.

Again, thank you so much for your patience.  You are all FABULOUS!!

Big hugs,
Leanne

WOW - A touch of Metal

Hello everyone!!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's W.O.W. challenge over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.  Today I am the host again and today's challenge is really cool.  We want you to use a touch of metal or metallic on your card/project.   That includes, any kinds of metal, brads, plaques, eyelets, paper, etc...  You get the picture.  To see what the DT added for their touch of metal click HERE.

For my card I used metallic green paper and a metal key.
Key to my Heart with WS Stella (TGF) & Swiss Pixie Key & Lock (CC Designs)
I bought the key probably in January and have been waiting for a chance to use it.  I think my card theme suits it and I am really stoked with how this turned out!  I chose Miss WS Stella because I wanted to practice coloring hair and using colors to make pleats (Thanks Rena) for her dress, to make it look like it was moving.  I love the hair, but could definitely use more practice on the (pleats) movement part.   The hearts were cut out using the Cricut (George font) and then dry-embossed with the swirls (on the green metallic paper) and swiss dots on the black heart and key hole.  I stamped the polka dots and the heart and key in Cottage Ivy onto kraft cs then distressed it using black soot.  (I have to mention that I hand cut the key hole, pretty simple, just drew it on black cs and then cut it out.)

Here's a close-up of the key & heart.  Sorry the picture is so bad,  I wish you could see the metallic tones on the paper.  I'll try to take a better picture and upload at another time.

Lock & Key
If you hadn't noticed this is a gate fold card.  It measures 5"x 5" with the folds scored at 3" on each side.  Stella is actually holding the card closed.

Gate fold opening
And of course there needs to be a sentiment somewhere right?  Well once you open the card, you'll see the message...

Sentiment - Swiss Pixies Key & Lock C.C. Designs
I masked off the heart and stamped the images in the same colors on the kraft cs.  Once I was satisfied I distressed the inside of the heart and stamped the Swiss Pixies Key & Lock (by C.C. Designs) sentiment stamp in the center of the heart.

Well friends, it's time for you to play with some metal.  I can't wait to see what you all create.

WS-Stella

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Metallic.

WOW - All Star - All Boy

Hello Friends!
How are you doing half way to the weekend?  I'm a bit bummed, we lost our playoff game on Monday night and that means no more softball games until the next season.  But I will shake it off for now, because I need to tell you that today over at the FFC blog we are playing with boy colors!!  Now, you don't have to make a boy themed card or even have a boy on it, we just want you to steer your color/paper scheme more towards the male end of the spectrum.  To find out what sort of boy colors the DT came up with to inspire you check out the blog HERE.

I just finished making this card for this post about a minute ago!  Yes that's me, Miss So-last-minute-crafter! Anyone else ever do that?  LOL!!  And this one I just did at work.  Yup another work related card.  The stamp I wanted to use didn't quite go with my theme.  Luckily I have colored TGF images floating around my cubicle.  Makes for a quick and easy card.  So here is my boy colored theme card featuring the adorable Baseball Ian.

I found this quick and fun sketch at Sketches by Carly.  It totally worked for my crunch time card!  I hand wrote all the words in because it was just easier. Alrighty, this is going to be a quick one as I have to head on out to volleyball.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Boy Colors.

Mahalo for stopping by and come back later for a Birthday blog hop you won't want to miss.  It'll be a "La-La" good time.

Hugs,
Leanne

W.O.W. Photo inpsiration #3

Hello Friends,
Hope you are all having a great week.  It's half-way to the weekend and I'm pretty excited about it.  Don't have much planned, except catching up on some projects.  Hopefully it will be very productive.  What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Today over at the Farm Fresh challenge blog we have a new challenge.  This week is a photo inspiration.  Here is the picture and we want you to find your inspiration in it.   Don't forget to stop by the FFC blog to see what wonderful and inspirational cards and projects the DT created.

Photo inspiration #3

Doesn't this room look bright and fun?  I love the colors and all the whites.  I chose the colors, the flowers and the nightstand for my share.  I went to SCS to find a tutorial on how to make a drawer box.  I found this one called Santa drawers by Brenda.  I sorta struggled with the dimensions, but all in all it worked out.  This is my first drawer box and it is by no means perfect, but I like the first attempt.  Will definitely keep practicing.
Side view
Top view

I used flowers, hardware from SU and ribbons for the "knobs" on the drawers.  Stamped O&A "Just for You" sentiment on top of the drawer and added the same colored ribbons around to knot at the top.   Why?  Well because I made an easel card and needed it to be the stopper for the card.  Ta-da

Here is a close up of the card featuring a combo of Lolli Anya and HG Snuggle, both retired images.  I've always wanted to do this combo, love how she looks.  The sentiment is from the O&A My Fav Things (Happy Day)
Combo of Lolli Anya & HG Snuggle

Alrighty friends, it's that time.  Time for you to try your hand at creating a card or project using the photo inspiration.  Remember to incorporate any of The Greeting Farm images to qualify for the prize which is a digital image of choice.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.
Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Photo 3

What are you waiting for?!!! hehehe..
Mahalo for stopping by.  You all make my day with your lovely comments.

My Favorite color is...

Green!  Well, I also love blue, red, orange, yellow, black, brown, ack who am I kidding, I love them all.  hehehe..  I bet you're wondering what is she rambling on about? (hehe)  Well I'm just trying to give you a hint at what today's Farm Fresh W.O.W. challenge is.  If you haven't guessed, it's a "What's your favorite color(s) challenge."  Please pop on over to the FFC blog to see what are the DT's favorite colors.

I made a pop-up easel card again.  I think these are super fun as long as you know how to make the pop-up part stand correctly.  I picked this bright and fun paper that has all the primary colors.  In the center I stamped the sentiment "Open me!" from the O&A Surprise set.  Surrounding the sides are colorful balloons that I colored using Copics.  I used the C.C. Designs Cutters Balloon dies & C.C. Designs Cutters Squiggle dies for that fun festive feeling.

I edged the card in black to give it a little bit of a border.  Once you open the card SURPRISE!

Say hello to Amelia.  She's dressed for a formal party and she's got a surprise in the form of a couple of brightly wrapped presents.  hehe...  I used a couple of the reverse wonky rectangles to create this card and this paper is one of my favorites, We R Memory Keepers, White Out.  Alrighty, now it's your turn to let us know what your favorite color(s) is/are.  We can't wait to see how many colors flood the Galleria.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.

The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!

Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Favorite Color

Have a fabulous Wednesday my friends and don't forget you still have a couple days to get in your projects for the FFF Throwback with a fun paper fold challenge.  So far everyone is going all out!!  Love it!! :)

Mahalo for stopping by!

WOW - Sepia/Brown tones

Hello Friends!

Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat.  In some parts it's been extreme, so hopefully you are making sure to stay hydrated and cool.  For those of you on the other side of the world I hope you are staying dry and warm.

Today at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are having a color challenge using Sepia/Brown tones.  For some fantastic inspiration hop on over to the FFC page by clicking HERE.  The DT has outdone themselves again for this challenge.  You won't be disappointed.

When I made this card I was hoping to use it when we case'd, Emily Martina, aka Beansscrapsandsheep.  Then I decided to use it for this challenge instead as it met the color requirements.  Hope you like it.  Cause I really enjoyed making it.

Geisha Anya
This beauty is none other than Geisha Anya.  She's an oldie and one of my very first stamps I got from my bestie Renate to start my wonderful TGF collection.  I love how she turned out.  The washi paper is from a paper pack I got at Marukai for under $2 and can you believe there were 60 sheets/pack with two other colors to choose from?  Score!  The gems were actually clear and I colored them with Copic E47.  The layout is the same one we used to case Emily's card.   And for my clouds I used Versa Magic, Sahara Sand.  Here's a picture of the punches that were used to make the flowers.  Love my punches!

Punches used to create flowers and accents
Alrighty, it's that time.. What time?  Time for you to get crackin' on your card or project & have fun!!  (hehe)

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST. The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sepia/Brown.

WOW - For Lauren

Hello Friends!
Please bear with me, this might be a long post, not sure yet since I just started it.  I do know there will be lots of pictures, so if you have time to read and scroll have at it.. LOL!  So today is Wednesday and we have another fun challenge at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog today.  It's back for another beautiful inspiration photo and this picture is any little girls dream room!

WOW - Photo Inspiration #2
Seriously?  Who has a room like this?  A fairy princess to be sure.  hahaha!  Seriously, this is a very beautiful room and you will have lots of inspiration to choose from.  Click HERE to see what the DT created.

Looking at this picture I see lots of pink, white, some greens and more pinks..  For my share I made a hanging tag name frame for my friends who are expecting a little girl soon.  The baby's name will be Lauren Mei Lin and the colors in her room are similar to the ones here.  I used chipboard that was already pre-cut into the tag shapes and covered them with papers from the DCWV Nana's Nursery baby girl stack.  I had to use the combination of Fleur Anya and Cuddle Anya.  I have a stash of ribbon that I hoarde and decided it was a good time to use them here.  Then to top it off I used some clear acrylic letters in strawberry bisque from KI memories to eventually spell out Lauren.  Of course there has to be some bling and flowers, so they are there too.  I will first show the individual tags.  The ones that do not have a TGF image will be the ones where my friends will be able to put pictures on.

"L"
Fleur Anya "a"
"u"

Cuddle Anya "R"

"e"
"n"
Yes, I kept each of the tags with the same layout, but mixed up the papers, ribbons, and the flowers.  I love the butterflies in kraft interspersed here and there.  Here is the whole set together, sorry if the photo quality is so bad.  I had to take it in a room that only had sunlight coming through it.  Luckily I found the white fuzzy blanket to give it a nice background.

"Lauren"
Whew, I guess it wasn't too bad.  More photos than words.  Thanks for your patience!!  Well my friends, it's time to give you the details for today's W.O.W. Photo inspiration #2 challenge:

  • Make a project inspired by the photo! You could use whatever catches your fancy from the photo, just have fun!
  • The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.
  • The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!
  • Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Photo Inspiration 2
Can't wait to see what parts of the photo caught your fancies.  Mahalo for stopping by and don't forget you still have time to get in your Christmas in July creations before Friday.

Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs,
Lilo
