Anuhea tags

Hello!

It's been so long since I played in a challenge that I thought I would do something easy.  I found this cool blog called, Tag You're It, as I was checking out another cool blog, The Cutting Edge.

The TYIC blog is all about making CAS tags.  How cool and easy!  It is a fairly new challenge blog and only on their 2nd challenge.  (Read all about the rules and such HERE) Thought I'd give it a go just for fun and to add to my stash.  Here is the inspiration:

These colors are perfect for summer.  Here's my take on it:

The tag itself is from MFT and coincidentally is called Tag, You're It.  (I kid you not! lol)  I love that it comes with it's own pierced hole.  I just received Anuhea as a blog prize from Sister Stamps release #24 and had to ink her up right away.  I love how adorable she is, so happy for her shave ice.  To read all about Anuhea stop by the Sister Stamps introductory blog post HERE.  I also received some other goodies (including the Mahalo laser cut sentiment from Island Scrapbooking) so I had to add it to my tag.  The hibiscus behind it is another laser cut image from Island Scrapbooking that I picked up on my trip last year.  Keeping it as CAS as possible I inked up an old wood grain background stamp with the following Distress inks: mustard seed, scattered straw, wild honey, spiced marmalade & worn lipstick to make a gradient pattern.  I also added 3 sequins from Walter & Winnie and the twine is by Doodlebug.  The last part was stamping Anuhea directly on to the tag and I was done.

I was having so much fun that I did another tag but changed it up a bit by breaking out some Copics...

She is soo cute!!  This time I stamped Anuhea first, masked her, then used a different background stamp (I believe it is a retired wood block stamp from Taylored Expressions) with the same Distress inks above.  I also added 3 Walter & Winnie sequins and although you can't see it I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen to add some sparkle to Anuhea's shave ice and her slippas.  The "thanks" sentiment was a freebie from Taylored Expressions.  Here they are side by side.  The same yet totally different.  Love how they turned out.

Alrighty, it's back to the craft table for me to see what other projects I can do.  Maybe I'll continue to make more tags with this adorable little girl, or start on my 2015 calendars.  So many things to consider.  I hope you're having a great Saturday and if you're not crafting that you're having a great day.  Mahalo for stopping by!

Gemma on Cloud 9

Hello!!  Happy Hump Day!!

Today I have a few fun projects to share.  My lovely friend Melissa asked me to be a guest on the A Random Fan blog today, and I was happy to say yes.  I have seen these cute and whimsical images around blogland and Facebook.  I chose to showcase Gemma on Cloud 9 (Includes 3 images: Gemma, clouds, and both together) today.  She's so darn cute and as soon as I saw her I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  A CAS card with clouds and bright colors...  Here's the end result...

It's been quite some time since I used my cloud stencil and distress ink pad with a TH sponge to make the billowy clouds.  I added two white felt clouds for some texture.  Colored the clouds, rainbow and Gemma with Copics.  She was a lot of fun to color, so were the clouds and the rainbow.  I used a white gel pen to add some dots to Gemma's hair and the rainbow.  The card base is red and I matted the scene on to a piece of black cardstock.  The sentiment is part of my growing computer generated collection.

I had some time to color up two more of Gemma (alone) in a smaller scale and popped them on to some MFT die cut tags.

I stayed with the CAS design.  Went for a fun Naughty & Nice theme here...  Now I have a question for you...  Which tag do you think I colored all with Copics?  Including the clouds?  If you guessed the "naughty" one then you have a good eye!  Here's a closer look...

Yes, I colored the clouds with Copics and used my cloud stencil as a guide.  Being able to use the stencil made it super easy and I was able to be more precise without worrying about getting ink on my colored image.  Happy to say this is a one layered tag and now that I've experimented with markers and my stencil I might be making more scenes with clouds colored with Copics.

Not to be outdone, the "nice" tag has a fun element as well.  I did use the TH sponge & Distress ink for the background clouds, but I also added a felt cloud right under Gemma. :)
Now she's got a comfy spot to rest on.  I was totally stuck on what do to with the top part of the tag until I stopped by Rachel's awesome blog.  Her cute tags inspired me to break out my little clothes pins and twine and add it to the top.  Thanks Rachel!

I hope you weren't too bored with all my babbling and enjoyed today's projects.  I'd like to thank Melissa and Sherry for having me showcase Gemma on Cloud 9 today, I hope you're inspired as well.  Here are some links to A Random Fan's blog, to the Etsy store where you can pick up some really cute and whimsical digis, and to their challenge blog.  Thanks for stopping by, have a terrific day!!

Y&FH Team Blog Hop Battle

Good morning everyone!!

Welcome to the Y&FH Team Yumi vs. Team Fumi Blog Hop Battle!  If you're here from Olivia's blog then you are on the right track!  If not, then head on over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog to start at the beginning.  You'll find all the details and things you need to do to win some blog hop prizes.

Team Yumi Yummies vs. Team Fumi Faves
Starts: 11/15/13, Midnight pst
Ends: 11/18/13, 11pm pst.

Here is my Fumi fave prize giveaway:

I've got  2 spools of ribbon (sheer sparkly & lace), buttons & die cut burlap paper reindeer and leaves.  I have been having tons of fun with burlap paper, and making tags.  Just getting in to the spirit of the Christmas holiday so that is where the buttons, animals, leaves and buttons come from.  The ribbon just "ties" everything together.  (hahaha)  Here's how I used these embellishments:

Winter Chuckles & Winter Fumi Christmas tags

These were the tags that we created on Saturday at the Carson Rubber Stamp show.  These embellishments or add-ons made these tags truly stand out.  Besides the items above I will throw in a few more things.  Let's just see what I have left over.  Take a closer look at each tag...

Winter Chuckles "Be Jolly"

Love how it turned out and using the different pieces really made this tag pop!  Here's the other one...

Winter Fumi "Holiday Cheer"

I can see my self either hanging these on our Christmas tree or decorating a bag.  Really had a lot of fun making these.  That's all I have for now, before you head on over to Renate's blog make sure you leave a comment and link up below too.

A reminder, here's what you need to do:
1. Go through the blog hop and leave a comment on everyone's blog post
2. When you go back to the Y&FH blog you will vote 1 time by leaving a comment with your favorite designer who you think used the theme the best. We'd also love to hear what you liked about their project so please include that in your comment.
3. Link up on the main blog for a chance at the grand prize!!
Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a great Aloha Friday!!

Calling all Heroes

Hey everyone!!
Today I wanted to share pictures of the birthday party favors and card I made for my Godson's birthday party.  First up is the card.  The theme for the party was Avengers so I was pretty stumped as to what to make for him.  In the end using Spellbinder circles and a star punch I went super CAS and made Captain America's shield with a "twist."   The "twist" is that the shield can rotate clock and counter clockwise.  You'll have to take my word for it as there is no easy way without video to show that.  The inside of the card could be considered for the outside of the card.  I actually did have it as the front of the card, but changed my mind after I made the shield.  Here is the inside of the card that I think turned out really cool...

I found that Avengers image online, cropped it, but saved the original for the tags.  Next I searched different sites for a fun "super boy" and found Super Duper Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil.  He was pretty perfect for this group of super heroes and so keeping with the heroes theme I colored him up with Copics in the colors of Superman. I know he's not part of the Avengers, but doesn't he look natural in this group of heroes?  I this so..

As my contribution to the party I asked my friend Doreen of Treats by Doreen to bake me some of her famous chocolate chip cupcakes with chocolate and peanut butter frosting.  From there I had to think of how to package them for the guest's goody bags.  I stopped by Wal-Mart and found some Avengers paper cups and thought with some shredded paper in the bottom of the cups the cupcakes could go inside the cups.  I also picked up some clear bags to put them in. Now I couldn't leave them without making a tag right?  So using the same image as above but with the words left intact I printed them out, trimmed them, added them to some red cardstock that I cut down to make tags and added some blue and white paper ribbon.  Attached them to the bags and voila!

I didn't want to leave out a little message from the birthday boy so I printed one out for him on some labels and of course I had to give props to Doreen for making the cupcakes.

It rained during the party but we still had fun under the big white tent.  The birthday boy was excited as well as all the kids and adults that were there.  Another birthday in the bag until next year...

Mahalo for stopping by!!!  Two more days til' Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales...  What are you most excited to buy?  Me?  Well I'm not a big fan of Black Friday shopping so I might sleep in.  (hahaha)
Have a fabulous day!!

Happy Halloween Treats

Hello and Happy Halloween!!

Popping in real quick to share some treat tags I made using the cute Meoples Witches & Goblins from ATS.  They made the cutest little tags for some gummi candies I picked up at Disneyland.  I purchased the digital images instead of the rubber stamps because I wanted to be able to shrink them down to small tag sizes.  I made 12 in all.

Please disregard the mess. I didn't have time to beautify the scene as I was already a little late for work. (lol)  Each tag is different from other.  I was able to use my SU punches for some of them and only had to use a couple Spellbinders for the bigger ones.  I handwrote Happy Halloween on all of them.

Here's a little close-up of the treats and tags all in a row.  And below is another picture of the treats at work.  Yes, that one little girl has candy corn hair! hahaha!!

We are having a fun challenge over at the Lollipop Crafts blog and the theme is Halloween Treats Anything but a card.  These tags definitely qualify and they were super easy to make.

Have a safe and fun Halloween and becareful while driving especially tonight.  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Back 2 School

Hey!!

I'm poppin' in to share a quick tag I made using The Greeting Farm's, WS Annika (retired).  I've had this little gal colored for a year, maybe more and she's been hangin' out on my computer at work.  I saw the latest or almost over FFF challenge, Back to School, so I thought I'd create a quick tag.

She's colored in grays so I thought something fun and bright for the back drop.  I found that dp in my stash and also that red cs.  I made that apple by hand which didn't take me that long.  I love how it turned out.  The sign is handwritten.  I drew in the lines with pencil and used a blue Sharpie for the words.  I thought it would be fun to create the same line paper we all know and love from when we first started writing way back in Kindergarten.  Now kids are learning how to write in pre-school!!  Craaaazy!!

Wow, it's been forever since I used a TGF stamp.  I've forgotten how much I love them.  Will need to play with them more, especially since I have most of them.  hehehe...

Okie dokie, hope everyone is having a great day.  And for those of us in So Cal, try to stay cool!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #35

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!  (Well what's left of it - hehehe)

Poppin' in to share a tag featuring Miyoko of Sister Stamps for today's LFF #35.  Something very simple and cute using some colors I wouldn't normally use together, but somehow work.  Hope you like...

Pretty simple, but still cute because of Miyoko.  I've missed coloring up my Sister Stamps.  Maybe will have to play with them this weekend.  Making more tags would be fun too and super quick.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.  Stay cool out there and if you have a chance to craft have fun!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lilo

Kalei - Lilo's Fun Friday #34

*Click HERE to jump to the Lollipop Crafts blog hop post*

Aloooohaaaa!!! Happy Aloha Friday everyone! :)

Before I start I wanted to wish my younger brother, David a Happy Birthday!! Happy Birthday brother!  :)

Today is LFF #34 which happens to be my favorite number.  Don't know why, it just is.  LOL!   For today's share I made a tag for fun.  Using punches and textures; threw in a few of those quilled circles I made with some scrap paper and this adorable keiki named Kalei, from Mo's Digital Pencil. Can you believe I printed her out months ago and only now found time to color her and use her on a project?  I know I so crazy! hahaha!

Oh, doesn't she just make you want to head to the beach or a luau on the beach?  She was really fun to color and I love the bright colors contrasting with her nice tanned skin.  The tag itself measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".  The tag was a leftover of a make & take we created for our Carson show.  (Will have those pictures up for you soon).  I thought the branches resembled palm tree fronds and the quilled circles, coconuts.  :)
Lucky me, there is an Anything Goes challenge at DP2 Challenges, so I think I'll play along. :)

Pretty short and sweet today.  Mahalo for visiting me this week.  It's so nice reading everyone's comments, knowing that you have support even when you've been MIBL (Missing In Blog Land).  I think I'm getting back in my groove and back to blogging and crafting.  Still have a ton of projects left on the dining room table that need to be finished, but for now I'm sharing these small projects, hopefully you like. :)  Have a fabulous Aloha Friday and a terrific weekend!

Hugs,
Lilo

Takeo, Tag your it!

Well hello there!!

If you've stopped here from Amy's blog you are definitely on the right track.  If you just stopped by to see what this girl has been up to today then you are in for a treat!!  You have just stumbled upon the first day of the Sister Stamps 1st Anniversary blog hop & Release #8 party!  Want to get in on the fun?  Then you should definitely start at the beginning where all things kawaii (cute) start.  That would be at the Sister Stamps blog.  Why?  All of the past guest designers & a few lovely special guests will be sharing our inspirations using the release #8 images.  I also heard from a reliable source one of our blog hop sistahs, Debi, will be giving away stamps during the four day blog hop!

Now, in case you get lost, start at the Sister Stamps blog:  http://sisterstamps.blogspot.com/

I was so excited and happy to be asked by Jenny to help with this celebration.  Can you believe it's already been a year?  Seems like yesterday we were oohing and ahhhing over these adorable images introduced by Jenny and Denise.  Congrats to Sisters Stamps for this wonderful accomplishment.  As you know Sister Stamps are one of my favorite images to play with.  So it was definitely easy to say yes to Jenny. (hehe)  For my day one share, I took a page out of Amy's book and created a simple tag using some fun dp (Simple Stories Happy Day) and the adorable little boy with the balloons, Takeo.  I have always loved how Amy uses paper to her advantage to create beautiful scenes.  Well mine's by no means beautiful, but I do think it's cute.  (hehe)

I really enjoyed making this tag.  I think the paper took out all the guess work for me, which is such a treat sometimes, yea?  I edged the whole tag with cocoa pigment ink by Color box, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then heat set it to give it that old distress, yet glossy look.

Mahalo for stopping by and remember make sure you leave some love on everyone's blog.  We're all excited to hear what you all think. :)  Come back tomorrow for day three of this four day party all starting at the Sister Stamps blog culminating to the big release day on Sunday, July 1st.  For a full list of shops and online stores please head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and check out the list of vendors on their sidebar.
Now it's time to hop on over to Nadine's blog.  She's always got something up her sleeve and I'm positive you will love it!!

Happy hopping!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Holiday Tags

Poppin in cause my blog needed to be updated.  lol..  Thank you everyone for all your wonderful comments from the blog hop.  Everyone did an awesome job showcasing their love of TGF! YAY!! Can't wait till next year!

Thought I'd share some tags I made last week.  Inked up the cute Keep Cozy set from TGF and made three quick tags.  The tag itself is a discontinued Magnolia one that I purchased via ATS.  Keeping it super simple I used kraft cs, black, brown and green ink, a white colored pencil for accent, and white fun fur.

Here are some close-ups of the tags.  I masked them so that I could stamp the snowflake behind them.  Also distressed them and used different scraps of dp for the top of the tag.  Added twine to keep it woodsy..  lol..

oopsie, this one got bent a little :(

These were super easy to make and not too much coloring.  I entered the FFC Retro Tag You're It challenge, cause these definitely are retro and well tags.  lol  Okie dokie, time for me to head on out.  Hope you are all having a good week and ready for Christmas.  I still need a few more giftcards to buy so guess what I'll be doing for the next couple hours?  hehehe..

Have a good evening and Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne
