Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day or Happy Heart Day!!

Going to keep this post as simple as possible and share all the Valentine's cards and projects all at once.  I don't have very many so it shouldn't take too long.

This first picture is a collage of the treats my friend/co-worker, Doreen & I collaborated on for our co-workers.

It's a french fry treat container with some sweet treats inside.  I bought the FF containers at Michael's and decorated them with white cardstock, corrugated paper, embossing folders, stamps, inks, punches, some dies from La La Land Crafts & MFT and to make things easier, a computer generated sentiment.  Doreen baked up a storm of brownies and chocolate chip cookies that were cut into adorable hearts and covered with pink, red & white sprinkles, they were so yummy!!  She filled up these adorable red heart cellophane bags and they were the perfect addition to the container. They turned out really cute and brought a smile to those who were lucky enough to get one.

Now not everyone was able to get the one above, so I came up with these for them.

I punched out more of the hearts on some corrugated paper and covered some See's candy lollipops. Adding some scraps of red raffia ribbon and another MFT banner and it was finished in no time.  To save even more time I hand wrote the sentiments.  Super easy and turned out cute!

Here's a last minute card I made for my co-worker using one of the hearts and banners.

I had some of these scraps at my desk and was able to make her a CAS card for her to give to her boyfriend. The heart is my all time favorite punch.  It's from EK.  The banner is from MFT, this turned out pretty good for the supplies I had on hand.  Need to bring in more stuff, especially for my co-workers who want last minute projects.  Sorry about the picture, but I didn't have time to stage it. lol.  Last are the cards I made for the two most important people in my life, my parents...

This year they are both getting ninja valentines.  My crafty cousin, Sharmaine, made me a bunch of those ninjas a year or two ago and I've been reluctant to use them.  This year I decided to break them out and created two CAS cards.  I used a Hanko die, a By DIEzyne stitched strip die and a heart punch.  I hand wrote the sentiment with a calligraphy pen and they were done.  Now to write inside them and give them away...

Whew!  Hopefully that wasn't too long of a post.  hahaha!  I hope you have a fabulous Valentine's Day and enjoy the long weekend!  I'm so ready for it!  Take care and Mahalo for stopping by!  xoxo

LFF #65 - Warm wishes...a birthday card

Happy Aloha Friday!

Today I'm jumping back in with a Lilo's Fun Friday share, it's been quite some time.  In the midst of all the Christmas crafting I took some time to make a birthday card with one of my pre-made BG cards. This one was a lot of fun to make.  I combined two stamp lines to make this card for my friend & co-worker, Doreen.

Anya Strolls & Kiki

I did a slight alteration to Big Anya Strolls from TGF.   First I gave her a haircut and then I replaced her cute little dog with a bigger cute dog named Kiki from Sister Stamps.  I also gave Anya some glasses.  Now Doreen doesn't have bangs like her, but she at one time did so I thought hey why not again? :)  After I colored both Kiki and Anya I fussy cut them both out and used pop dots to add to my card base.  Kiki is colored to look like Doreen's dog Princess who is her pride and joy, I hop I did her justice.  ^.^  Here's a close-up of both of them...

Anya & Kiki

Normally when we celebrate a birthday at work, Doreen is the one who bakes for us.  When it comes to her birthday, we've just ordered or picked up something in the past trying to give her something she would like.  This year I thought it would be fun to ask another co-worker to help me make her birthday dessert.  So I happened to ask her if she wanted to still have a fruit tart or chocolate cake from Porto's to which she actually changed her mind.  She asked for cupcakes instead.  White or yellow cake, any type of frosting with a fresh strawberry on top.  I asked if she was sure and she said yes.   So for her birthday she got what she wanted and she was really surprised with the results...

Yellow cupcake with pink frosting topped with a 1/2 strawberry

Luckily we have several bakers that work in our office so I asked one of them for help and boy did she come through!!  The cupcakes were delicious, but the best part was seeing Doreen's face when she first saw the dessert.  Priceless!!

Cupcake display with cupcake signs

Jean, the ones that made the cupcakes, did a wonderful job, exactly what I/Doreen asked for.  I took a picture of all the piping she did too...

Piping rock star!!

Can you believe she did the same to 23 more cupcakes?!! Yep, she's a rock star.   Here's a little collage I made including a picture of the b-day girl. :)

Happy Day for Doreen!!

Well thanks so much for stopping by.  I know I've been such a bad blogging friend and I appreciate everyone that comes and leaves a comment.  I hope to be better at stopping by old friend's blogs and seeing what you've been up to.  Mahalo!!  Have a super awesome Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Valentine's Day Tags & Cookies

Happy Valentine's Day!!
I know the day's almost over, but I just had a chance to do a quick post so I'm taking a few minutes to do it.

My friend, Doreen Sanuki, who is also my co-worker and baker extraordinaire, and I decided to tag team for Valentine's Day this year.  She baked some delicious chocolate-chip cookies with red & white sprinkles and I made some cute tags to tie them to the bags.  I used the cute new Asian Meoples and the Love is in the Air Meoples.  You might also see a cute Sweet November Love bug floating around as well.  I trimmed them after coloring them and punched some tags out of paper from MS and Recollections.  I also printed out some pretty Valentine's Day cards that were a freebie from Webster's pages.  We tied red/white or pink/white Doodle Bug twine to give it a nice finish.  Here are some pictures...

These turned out really cute for a last minute Valentine's Day treat.  All items except the paper can be found at All That Scraps.  Next year we might do it again, but this time we'll try to be more proactive and do them earlier.  hehehe..  Hoping your Valentine's Day is wonderful!!

Have a great night and Mahalo for stopping by!!

LFF #53 - First card of 2013

Happy Aloha Friday my friends!

Well I made it through the week with flying colors, hope that's just the beginning and that things get even better as we go.  I hope you are all having a great start too.

Today I wanted to share my first official card for 2013.  It's a birthday card I made for one of my co-workers, Maria, who's birthday lands on New Year's Day.  Featuring Melody from Make It Crafty

I absolutely love this line of girls from Make It Crafty!!  Can't wait to practice more on her.  I totally forgot I had to make a card but I already knew that I wanted to use Melody because she reminds me of Maria.  She was already printed out, just needed to add some color.  I chose the colors from the papers behind her but kicked them up a notch.  The layout was something super simple and all the papers are from the same paper pad (MME SixBySix Blink of an Eye) well except for the brown and kraft cardstock which are Neenah and Recollections.   I wanted to put something in her hands so I used my five petal punch and some letter stickers and spelled out YAHOO.  I can already see lots of coloring mistakes, (hehe, no! don't look to closely!) but for the most part am pleased with how it turned out.

We celebrated with a delicious homemade sherbert cake baked by my co-worker Doreen.  Here's a couple pictures of the cake half covered with chocolate dipped strawberries.

My huge piece!  It was really good and one that I'm sure we will have again.

Alrighty my friends, hoping you all have a great weekend.  Make It Crafty! {hahaha!}

Mahalo for stopping by!!

Calling all Heroes

Hey everyone!!
Today I wanted to share pictures of the birthday party favors and card I made for my Godson's birthday party.  First up is the card.  The theme for the party was Avengers so I was pretty stumped as to what to make for him.  In the end using Spellbinder circles and a star punch I went super CAS and made Captain America's shield with a "twist."   The "twist" is that the shield can rotate clock and counter clockwise.  You'll have to take my word for it as there is no easy way without video to show that.  The inside of the card could be considered for the outside of the card.  I actually did have it as the front of the card, but changed my mind after I made the shield.  Here is the inside of the card that I think turned out really cool...

I found that Avengers image online, cropped it, but saved the original for the tags.  Next I searched different sites for a fun "super boy" and found Super Duper Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil.  He was pretty perfect for this group of super heroes and so keeping with the heroes theme I colored him up with Copics in the colors of Superman. I know he's not part of the Avengers, but doesn't he look natural in this group of heroes?  I this so..

As my contribution to the party I asked my friend Doreen of Treats by Doreen to bake me some of her famous chocolate chip cupcakes with chocolate and peanut butter frosting.  From there I had to think of how to package them for the guest's goody bags.  I stopped by Wal-Mart and found some Avengers paper cups and thought with some shredded paper in the bottom of the cups the cupcakes could go inside the cups.  I also picked up some clear bags to put them in. Now I couldn't leave them without making a tag right?  So using the same image as above but with the words left intact I printed them out, trimmed them, added them to some red cardstock that I cut down to make tags and added some blue and white paper ribbon.  Attached them to the bags and voila!

I didn't want to leave out a little message from the birthday boy so I printed one out for him on some labels and of course I had to give props to Doreen for making the cupcakes.

It rained during the party but we still had fun under the big white tent.  The birthday boy was excited as well as all the kids and adults that were there.  Another birthday in the bag until next year...

Mahalo for stopping by!!!  Two more days til' Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales...  What are you most excited to buy?  Me?  Well I'm not a big fan of Black Friday shopping so I might sleep in.  (hahaha)
Have a fabulous day!!
