Flying By....

Hey everyone!

Hope you all have been doing well.  I've got a card today that I made for my nephew Hunter.  He turned the big 1 last week and we were all invited to help him celebrate this special event.  My cousin chose to do a really cute sock monkey theme and normally I would try to keep in line with the theme when making the card, but there was this really cute image that I wanted to use and I purchased specific paper to use with it.

This little cutie is called Jack's Plane from A Random Fan.  The reason why I chose this image was based on the patterned paper from Best Creation Inc.  I love the airplane background with the primary colors and yes the glitter and banners. Thought it would make a really fun birthday card for a little boy.  The cool thing is I didn't have to do too much except to color and cut.  The paper did a lot of the work for me. :)  The banner he is pulling was something I thought would be fun, as if he was sky-writing, so I used another computer generated sentiment and found a really cool font that I could use, here is a close-up

Oh man, it was a pain to tie off that twine, but it looks so much better with it.  Definitely worth the cramps in my fingers.  (hahaha)  See the sparkle on the banner?  That's thanks to my new fun find, Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen.  I've been using that thing on a lot of stuff.  I love how smooth and easy it is to use.  I also used it on his airplane and pilot glasses, here's a close up:

Here's the inside of the card, I used the same font as the banner.  I didn't have time to make clouds, but that's ok, cause it still looks nice and bright and fun.

Here are a few pictures from the party...

I was told that the sock monkey above was crocheted (without a pattern) by one of my cousin's friends!  I'm not really a fan of sock monkeys, but this one was really cute and to go off just a picture is totally awesome!  We had a good time and so did Hunter.  He didn't really know what was going on, and he was smiling a lot so it was definitely a success.  Okie dokes, thanks for stopping by today, hope my post made you smile.

Have a terrific day!
