Mele Kaliki Maka with Ukulele Josh

Hello everyone!  Hope you are enjoying your Saturday.  I still haven't gotten the urge to get up and go shopping.  Not even cyber shopping.  I've been trying to be good and use what I have.  Which is too much.  I also wanted to get some Christmas cards done.  I have a few images I haven't inked up yet, so thought I would do that this weekend.  Waiting til' the last minute is not going to be me this time around.  (knock on wood)  With Thanksgiving over, Christmas will be here in no time!  Yikes!!

So here's a card I just finished using a Sparkle Creation image, Ukulele Josh.  When I saw this image I thought he was so cute and would be perfect for a Hawaiian themed Christmas card!

Reminds me of my cousins playing their ukuleles and singing songs or talkin' story.   I learned how to play last Thanksgiving, but since I haven't practiced I doubt I could remember where my fingers should go.  The sentiment is computer generated, see below for a close-up.  I thought it would be fun to put it right above the music notes.  As if he was singing the Christmas song.  :)

I found some cool non-Christmas papers to use from K&Company.  They worked really well with my card.  The flowers were leftovers from last year and the leaves are from a die set from Cheery Lynn Designs, tropical leaves.  I tied two small pieces of twine into a knot and glued them to the center of the flowers.

I entered my card into the current challenge at Sparkle Creations #68 Team Oliver vs. Team Josh.  It's my first challenge to enter and since I only have Josh images, I guess I'm for Team Josh.  LOL..

I have a feeling this guy is going to end up on more Christmas cards this year.  Alrighty friends, enjoy the rest of your Saturday and Mahalo for stopping in!

Hugs,
Leanne

11/29 - Happy dancing, cause I was lucky to win the challenge!! Woo Hoo!!  Thanks Sparkle!!

Hi Leanne,
Ohhhh, what an awesome Hawaiian Christmas card. I avoided the mall yesterday....too crazy and I didn't want to get trampled over. LOL. I couldn't resist shopping at Ben Franklin Crafts and Island Scrapbooking though. Got some GOOOOOD deals.
