This week....we want to see your B's....bling, bows, buttons, blue, brown....etc, whatever you can come up with that starts with B we want to see it! This week our sponsor is Karber Stamps! Please visit the Lollipop blog for inspiration from the T-Team. :)
So my "B" is for Blondes, Bling and Bulbs. I made a card & tag for my November C.A.T.S. partner, Denise. We had to use bling for our card & tag and I was racking my brain as to what to make for her. She sent me a beautiful handmade set (click here to view) and I wanted to make sure that what I sent to her was at least a smidgen as wonderful as what she sent to me. So here is what I made using the adorable Sunny Christmas Marci, from La-La Land Crafts.
Denise lives in Hawaii and so I thought she would love a Hawaiian themed Christmas card & tag.
For the card, I colored up Marci with Copics and then paper pieced her dress with some Hawaiian themed paper. For the bling, I added rhinestones over the roses on her dress. I also stickled the light bulbs she's holding and added glossy accents on top. For the string of light bulbs up top, I colored with Copics and then used glossy accents over the top. The sentiment was computer generated and says "Mele Kaliki Maka", you can't really tell but the dark green circle behind the sentiment was punched out of felt, giving it some added texture. For the base of the card I used kraft cs. On top of that I used an embossed red cs. I used the curved rectangles Spellbinders to cut out the Hawaiian themed paper and used the same die but in a smaller size to cut out Marci. For the shadown I used a sponge and Memento Bamboo leaves ink. This ink is getting to be one of my favorites for distressing.
For the tag I kept it simple and colored her up with Copics and used glossy accents on the light bulbs. I thought it would be fun to add the rest of the light bulbs to the bottom of the tag as a fun border. Keeping with the curved rectangles dies I made the tag similar, but really simple. This time I colored her dress red and used red gems for the roses. Used similar elements for the papers here. The kraft cs is invisible, but there. It's actually the base behind the Hawaiian themed paper. The red embossed paper is represented in the top, where I punched a hole and used a silver eyelet and strung twine through. I knew I wasn't going to be able to get all of Marci in the center so made sure to get some fun parts to her in. I actually love how this project turned out. I hope Denise likes it too.
Alrighty, now remember to directly link your project(s) with a "B" is for... in to today's Lollipop post.
Mahalo for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day!!
