Happy Birthday Kim!!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Thursday afternoon.  Just popping in for a quick post.  I made this card for my co-worker's birthday.  My first ever Some Odd Girl card and I just love how it turned out.  I've seen quite a few of these girls floating around blogland and figured why not jump on the band wagon too.  Yes, I'm such a follower and proud to be one!  (hahaha)  I purchased some clear stamps and a bunch of digis.  When I received the stamps I was pleasantly surprised to find them all wrapped up like I was receiving a present.  Kristy does make the customer feel special with this extra touch.

I chose a color scheme that she likes, pink, black and white and an adorable image.  I thought Tiny Baker Tia would be perfect for her card and I was right.  We just had cake and gave her the card, she loved it just as much (I hope) as what was inside.  (hehe)

The background paper is from Echo Park, the pink is from my scaps.  I used Spun Sugar Distress inks for the inside of the oval card to give it a nice soft look and used Lacey and regular oval Spellbinders .  It's not a great shot of the black swirl in the top right corner, but that is a glittered sticker.  I punched out the circle and wrote in Happy Birthday!

I had to think quickly for the inside.  You see normally I make the cards and pass them around for our birthday group.  I had originally wanted them to sign on the right side above the strip of black and white cs with the lacey oval sentiment.  I really couldn't figure out why they signed the other side!  So I had to think of something to fill in the big black spot above the sentiment.  Luckily I have a stash of this and that and was lukcy to find some pink flowers.  Using my white gel pen I drew in some swirls and dots and then added the flowers.  Next I wrote in a Happy Birthday message to Kim.  Here's what I call a last minute fix:

Not too bad if I do say so myself..  lol!  The stamped sentiment came with my SOG stamp, there is also another sentiment that came with it that will definitely see some ink in the future.  Lastly I wanted to share a picture of how sweet & wonderful the packaging is from SOG.

Too cute right?  I really didn't want to open the package.  I opened it very carefully and saved the wrapper.  It was truly a wonderful surprise.

Well that's all I have today.  Stop by tomorrow if you like for another Fun Friday post.  Until then, have a wonderful Thursday evening!!

Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
*:)

Leanne, that is seriously one gorgeous card! It was so good to hear from you, it's hard to keep up with everyone now that some have shifted over to SCS. I will just have to make sure I check in with you on your blog so I can see all of your inspirational ideas!! ;)

Super adorable, Leanne! After seeing them on blogland for some time, I couldn't resist either! LOL I got my order last week but still haven't gotten around to ink them up. :( I haven't been able to blog or craft much lately. :(
