Today I get to hop along with the La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday team to help showcase 14 new stamps being released today!! If you've come from Kim's blog then you are on the right track. Today I'm showcasing Marci with Lantern. She comes with a string of lanterns and a sentiment. I hope you like. :)
For my card I only used Marci and the sentiment. I created my own background paper with a background stamp (Sku#447) and some distress inks. Also used the lantern embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I masked parts of Marci so that I could use the same RN background stamp to add some fun details to her outfit. I stamped it in rich cocoa and then used a white gel pen. After I colored the lantern I drew in some lines and added dots and flowers using a combination of Copics and white gel pen. For the background, I embossed kraft cs with the lantern EF then used distress inks on the lanterns to give it a bit of pop. Once I was satisfied with the color I decided to fussy cut them out and layer it over the bg paper. (I only used two of the strings, the other one is on the inside of the card.) This was all matted on to dark brown cs. I added a sheer orange ribbon and for the sentiment kept it clean and matted it on to brown cs as well.
