Day Off Anya calendar

Hello!

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought those mini calendars from Taylored Expressions.  I didn't make nearly enough with what I bought and now I've got about 20 that need to be used up before the end of the year.  Looks like the next couple of posts will be calendar related.  Who wants one, or two, maybe three?  hahaha!  Doh!  I'll have to plan better for 2016!

The nice thing about making these mini calendars is that I'm using up some scrap patterned papers!  I'm also using some of my forgotten punches and dies that I've purchased over the years which is another plus in my crafty-use-what-I-have book.  LOL!  Here's a sassy fun mini calendar featuring Day Off Anya from The Greeting Farm.

Look at all that hair!!!  I thought SSSC - Tress had a lot of hair, my goodness Day Off Anya gives her a run for her money.  (hahaha)  I had a lot of fun coloring her up and then putting the layout together. The sentiment on top is from Dollie with Hearts set and the one on the bottom I wrote myself.   The doily behind DO Anya was cut with a Prima doily die  and some Martha Stewart lace patterned paper.  The yellow cardstock was edged with Prima ink and a Recollections punch.  I think I'll enter this in to the FFF Ribbon & Lace challenge.  Hopefully my lace patterned paper qualifies.  ^.^  I'm also going to link up at Anya Oddies & Others.  What a fun new site find.  It's all about sharing your love of stamping, be sure to stop by and link up on all of their different pages.

This turned out to be a pretty nice sized calendar and now to find her a home.  I'll have another calendar to share tomorrow.  Until then, enjoy your Saturday!!  Thanks for stopping by!

KBD AFC #42 - Things with Wings, Sleepy Time Danni

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today starts a brand new challenge over at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  We're all so thankful for everyone that joins our challenges.  We love seeing everyone's creativity and how they interpret the theme.  Starting today you'll get another chance to submit your project for this challenge:

Things with Wings
Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine

Hop on over to the blog for more details and while you are there make sure to leave some love for my fellow Bee-teammates.  For my share I found the cutest dragon image in their site.  I thought it would be fun to use him/her for today's inspiration.

From top to bottom I had a lot of fun making this card.  Figured it could be used as a baby card for my stash.  I colored with Copics using both boy & girl colors.  The clouds above were created with a Mama Elephant die and the sentiment was computer generated.  I had a lot of fun coloring the grass, the flowers and the sky.  I could definitely use more practice coloring Sleepy Time Danni, but I think for now she looks just fine.  The grass below is a combination of Copics and the Fiskars grass punch. I used 4 different layers of grass, G29 & YG82 pretty stoked with how it turned out, the grass in my yard is not as nice.  (hahaha)

Sleepy Time Danni - Lacy Sunshine

Alrighty friends, hope you'll join us for this pretty fun and easy challenge.  Again for all the deets head on over to the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day and weekend!!

Many thanks!

Hello!

Popping in for a quick post.  Hope you're all doing well.  Thought I'd share a CAS card I made.  I needed a thank you card and here's how it turned out.

Almost kept it myself.  I absolutely love this patterned paper!!  I wish I had bought a few more sheets of it.  Also wish I had remembered where it's from.  I want to say BG, but it could be some other company.  The sentiment is part Walter & Winnie stamp and Taylored Expressions die.  The pink washi strip was cut using an MFT die and the flowers are all Prima.  Last touch was to add some pearls, just because.  So happy that the person I gave this to loved it.  Yay!

Well better hit the hay, the morning is going to come pretty quick.  Have a great TBT!  Thanks for stopping by!!

LFF #84 - For a sweet friend

Hello!

Happy Aloha Friday!  For today's Lilos Fun Friday share I'm back with a treat bag alteration.  I added the adorable Amor Anya from The Greeting Farm for a CAS design.

The bag has those beautiful red and white chevrons, so I decided to keep it simple by adding the doily and a small yellow chevron.  The sentiment is from AmyR for CC Designs and it's from the Mixed Messages stamp set.  I went for a bright yellow with red & black accents for the colors and threw in some polka dots on her hearts for added fun.

She definitely puts a smile on my face, I hope she puts a smile on the one who is going to receive this bag as well.  At least a squeal!  hahaha!  Ok, time for me to sign off.  Mahalo for stopping by!

Love with Paper Doll Marci Spring Showers

Hello!

Whew! That was a long title!  I have difficulties when trying to come up with a title for my posts. I usually go with the image and if there is a sentiment I incorporate that.  Sometimes when I am stumped I usually end up using the sentiment.  How about you?  Do you have a hard time with titles for your posts?  I'd love to hear how do you come up with your titles?  =D

Today's share is a little canvas project on a clear acrylic background.  I decided to try my hand at my version of mixed media.  I know I'm late to the party as it's all the rage, but when it comes to new things I tend to wait and see before doing.  (haha)  Here is the beginning of the project:

This is a mini canvas colored with Prima Color Bloom sprays in cobalt, summer sky & glistening waves.  The hanging heart banners & Love sentiment are from La-La Land Crafts.  The other hearts were punched out with a Fiskars heart punch & an EK heart punch.  I also stamped some hearts with a heart background stamp.  The image I chose is one of the newly released stamps from CHA, Paper Doll Marci Spring Time also from La-La Land Crafts.  I paper pieced her jacket after stamping the same heart background on to an extra stamped jacket; fun-cut it out and coloring with Copics.  The rest of her was so easy to color.  Here's a little close-up of the right side of the canvas showing off all the details.

The red patterned paper underneath the acrylic was a great find at my local scrapbook store.  I think I bought the last two sheets in the tray.  So happy I have an extra sheet for next year.  I used spray adhesive to glue the paper to the acrylic and it looks seamless.   Last I added a red and white polka dot ribbon.

So that's what I've been doing.  The is the second canvas I made, I'll share the other one in an upcoming post as well as some of the make & take projects from CHA.  For now it's time to sign off.   Thanks a lot for stopping by and thank you for the lovely comments.  Big hugs!

A little sweet surprise

Hello again!

Today's going to be a quick one.  TGF has been releasing some really cute images (duh!) and their latest one that was a pre-order exclusive has got to be one of those off the chart cutest.  Her name is Amor Anya and she is quite simply ADORBS!  I colored her up with blues & greens.  I think whatever color you want to color her up she'll look adorable.  Here's the card I made with her featuring dies from LLLC and an AmyR sentiment stamp.

Now I would definitely use the blue & green color combo, but to add red to the mix is going a little out of my comfort zone because it's not something I would normally throw together, but for some reason it works here.  Whaddaya think?  Yes or no?  Either way she is one adorable little girl.  Marie did a great job on this one. ^.^

(Yawn!!)  Well it's time to sign off.  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day or Happy Heart Day!!

Going to keep this post as simple as possible and share all the Valentine's cards and projects all at once.  I don't have very many so it shouldn't take too long.

This first picture is a collage of the treats my friend/co-worker, Doreen & I collaborated on for our co-workers.

It's a french fry treat container with some sweet treats inside.  I bought the FF containers at Michael's and decorated them with white cardstock, corrugated paper, embossing folders, stamps, inks, punches, some dies from La La Land Crafts & MFT and to make things easier, a computer generated sentiment.  Doreen baked up a storm of brownies and chocolate chip cookies that were cut into adorable hearts and covered with pink, red & white sprinkles, they were so yummy!!  She filled up these adorable red heart cellophane bags and they were the perfect addition to the container. They turned out really cute and brought a smile to those who were lucky enough to get one.

Now not everyone was able to get the one above, so I came up with these for them.

I punched out more of the hearts on some corrugated paper and covered some See's candy lollipops. Adding some scraps of red raffia ribbon and another MFT banner and it was finished in no time.  To save even more time I hand wrote the sentiments.  Super easy and turned out cute!

Here's a last minute card I made for my co-worker using one of the hearts and banners.

I had some of these scraps at my desk and was able to make her a CAS card for her to give to her boyfriend. The heart is my all time favorite punch.  It's from EK.  The banner is from MFT, this turned out pretty good for the supplies I had on hand.  Need to bring in more stuff, especially for my co-workers who want last minute projects.  Sorry about the picture, but I didn't have time to stage it. lol.  Last are the cards I made for the two most important people in my life, my parents...

This year they are both getting ninja valentines.  My crafty cousin, Sharmaine, made me a bunch of those ninjas a year or two ago and I've been reluctant to use them.  This year I decided to break them out and created two CAS cards.  I used a Hanko die, a By DIEzyne stitched strip die and a heart punch.  I hand wrote the sentiment with a calligraphy pen and they were done.  Now to write inside them and give them away...

Whew!  Hopefully that wasn't too long of a post.  hahaha!  I hope you have a fabulous Valentine's Day and enjoy the long weekend!  I'm so ready for it!  Take care and Mahalo for stopping by!  xoxo

Aloha Friday Challenge #40 - Mid Inspiration

Happy Aloha Friday!

I hope you all had a great week!  Today it's time to welcome the other Bees from their vacation, yay! We're all sharing our Mid-inspirations for Kitty Bee Designs' current Valentine/Love challenge happening at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  We hope you've had a chance to add your links to your projects, but if you haven't you still have some time.  The challenge ends next Friday at 5 am HST.  Here is a reminder of the details:

VALENTINE/LOVE
Ends, Friday, Feb 13, 2015 at 5 am HST
Sponsor: 2 Cute Ink

Make sure to stop by the KBD Aloha Friday Challenge blog to see the other inspirations by my teammates.

I'm using the same image from last week, BEE Happy, which is the January Freebie from 2 Cute Ink. I had printed her off twice because I wasn't too sure if I would like using the Wink of Stella glitter brush pens as much, but in the end I did.  I did a similar color job on this bee and then decided to add a little more "fun" to this card.

"Fun" as in "fun-cutting" instead of fussy cutting.  (hahaha!)  I chose a pretty patterned paper from my stash and printed off another cheesy sentiment.  Instead of the usually banner I probably would have done I decided to go in a diagonal manner with the placement.  Another fun add.  I think my mom can add this one to her stash if she hasn't already given it away.  This bee makes me smile.

Don't forget you have a week to link up your project to the current challenge.  It ends a week from today.  This is the perfect challenge to stock up on these types of cards and you'll have them out before the big day!  Have a great Aloha Friday and a fun crafty weekend!!

2015 Calendar (Jan - July)

(Scroll down to July to see my entry for the FFF challenge)

Hello!

Thank you for the heartwarming welcome back!  You're all so sweet for the wonderful comments you left.  It's really nice to be back if only for a couple days out of the week.  I do have a few projects that I've finished and hope to share as soon as I transfer them from my phone to the computer.

Last weekend I met up with my stamp camp friends.  We decided to work on our 2015 calendar.  We each had a couple months to work on and then we were supposed to make up the packs for everyone so that all of our calendars were fairly the same.  We picked a day to craft away and by the end of the session we were all a bit frazzled from the coloring and cutting, but super happy with what we accomplished.  All the months were fun and unique to our own personalities and style.  It was awesome!!

The month of May is missing so once I receive it I will share.  I've seen the preview and it's adorable!

Gonna enter this next one in the TGF - FFF, Boys only! challenge at The Greeting Farm.

Designed by me

We all did a lot of coloring & fun-cutting going that day, especially for June!  The calendars used are from Taylored Expressions.  We used some of our favorite new and older stamps from Stampin' Up, Sister Stamps and The Greeting Farm.  As you can see we each have our own different styles, but it totally works.  Angie got us all a cool clear case to display the calendar and now it's sitting on my desk at work.

I want to give a big shout out to the Stamp Camp ladies, Kathy Dinh for organizing, Linda Tan for hosting, and Angie and Jenny for making it a fun filled day.  Hoping to share the rest of the calendar as soon as I receive May.  Until then, hope you're all having a great day!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

KBD Spotlight - Year of the Sheep

Hello everyone!

It's really great to be back from my winter break, looking forward to sharing some fun Kitty Bee Designs posts for 2015!!  Wow, can't believe it's already February!!  Who agrees that 2015 is going by super fast?!  Me!!  hahaha!  Since today is the first Monday of the month, its time for a spotlight post from me.  What better way than to start off with my version of the Chinese New Year red envelope, or lucky money envelope.  This year is the Year of the Sheep/Ram.

Did you know that Kitty Bee Designs has a full Chinese Zodiac set of stamps?  I know most of you probably didn't, but there are 3 sets and each has either 3 or 4 stamps in each set.  I have been wanting to use this sweet little guy since last year!  hahaha!   So happy to finally put him on a project.  Yay!
I used scraps of my favorite Hanko washi paper here.  Woot to me for using up some scraps!  The sentiment was computer generated, cut down and matted to a scrap of red cardstock.  Actually most of this project was made with scrap paper.  Inside the pocket there is a special message...

While my parents were in Hilo, my mom stopped by Island Scrapbooking to pick up some of their awesome laser cut words. The sentiment above was one of them.  I clipped the words apart and glued them down.  Isn't the sheep/ram adorable?  I had fun coloring him and then fun-cutting him out.  He's glued down flat so that when the recipient slides it out it doesn't get stuck.  Turning over the envelope I adhered a scrap die cut word (Little B) that was also in my scrap pile.  You can't tell but there are two pockets in this envelope, one for the special message and one for some lucky money.

Here's the project side-by-side...  Unfortunately, you can't tell that I sprayed the yellow with some shimmer spray so it went from a bright yellow to a fancy looking bright gold paper.  Love that stuff!!

Before I sign off I wanted to remind you about our current challenge that started last Friday.  It's an easy one, Valentine's Day/ Love.  Hope you'll join us!!

From me to you, Wishing you Good fortune for 2015!  Kung Hee Fat Choy!  May it be prosperous!
