Peach boy

Hello!!!

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.  Popping in to share another baby card featuring the Peach boy aka Momotaro from Sister Stamps.  Another cute stamp to use for baby boy cards or just for fun.  Read all about this image here.  We grew up on that story, and somewhere in this house is the book which was given to us by our grandparents.  It would be fun to read it again.  I found this link to an animated version from the Sister Stamps blog you can go watch.

So getting back to my card... I thought something fun and simple would be best.  I even tried to go for summer colors...

Isn't he cute?!  Don't ya just wanna poke his belly!  hehehe...  This card was fun to put together.  I used several new items for this card.  The leaf is a La-La Land Crafts die, the peaches are part of the Sakura stamp set that Sister Stamps also released, the water embossing on the kraft cardstock is from Crafter's Companion, and the background stamp is from Local King Rubber Stamps.  I used lemon drop ink from MFT and desert sand from Memento to ink up the two lighter colored panels.  Adding a colored Momotaro to the bottom and the sentiment completed the card.

I used Copics to color the leaf and the peaches.  Using the water embossing folder added a fun element to the otherwise boring kraft cardstock.  I'm happy with how this turned out.

Another cutie inked and ready to go in to my stash.  I'm going to try and color him without hair next time, we'll see how that goes.  (hahaha)  Well thanks a lot for stopping by.  I hope you all have a great day!!

Oh my goodness I love this card! Great background for such a cute image. I had forgotten all about Momotaro. We read that book all the time. Do you think it's just a Hawaii thing? Thanks for a reminder of my hanabata days:)

Awww...so darned kawaii! Momotaro is so adorable. Love, love the colors on your background...it's a stamp?!!! So neat...the kanji on it looks so sharp and clear, it almost looks like it's embossed. Why is it that my background stamping always turns out looking kinda splotchy with uneven coloring?
