Yumi & Fumi Handmade - A Fond Farewell!

Hey everyone,

It's been a rough day...

Not sure if you've heard but after a year and a half of business we've made the hard decision to put our little company, Yumi & Fumi Handmade on hiatus until further notice.  Pretty hard to understand yea?  Well it was equally hard for us to do but circumstances have lead to this decision and we felt it was time to hang it up.  Did you know that when we started this little company we had a simple dream?  Yep, to create stamps that we love and share them with the crafty world.  And if in the process we made a few of you smile and think, "Wow, that is so darn cute! I gotta have them," then we did our job.  I think we were able to accomplish that in the small amount of time we had and guess what?  We made tons of new friends from all over the world. :)

If you're wondering what "hiatus" means for Yumi & Fumi Handmade?  Well in a nutshell it means completely shutting down the website and, unfortunately, the challenges until further notice.  Here's more information:
Website: If you have been trying to place an order prior to 12pm PST on Sunday we've got it and should be shipping it out this week.  If you missed that time we're sorry but it's officially closed. We'll let you know when and if we decide to sell the rest of our inventory and how you can get them, but for now we do not have an answer for you.

Challenges: Challenge #30 (current challenge) will be our LAST challenge.  You have until Friday, Jan 31st to link up, after that we will have no more challenges.  To join our current challenge link up here.

Blog: The blog will still be up so that you can enjoy all of the posts and creativity year round.  If you would like to share your projects with us upload it to our FB page or Splitcoast Stampers (key word: yumifumi)

I hope you'll think about joining us for the current challenge because it is literally your last chance to win a Y&FH stamp.

I bet you all thought it was just a 2-woman job, but we had a terrific group of friends & family who spent many an hour helping us prep & work to get our product to you. We appreciated the hard work, advice and support from all of our parents, friends, families, Design Teams and friends in the business.  Your support has been invaluable to us and we've made a lot of lasting friendships.

Masako, Kat, Jesse, Chuck, Kathy & Jovana, thank you all for the tireless hours spent prepping & working the Carson Rubber Stamp conventions with us. You hardly knew what to do from the first day but boy you all learned so much so fast in the short amount of time and became experts after that first show.  We will forever be grateful. Many thanks to Mike for always giving us a great platform to display our stamps. Each of our ideas was only realized because of your craftsmanship and vision. We gave you an idea and you always delivered with style and grace.  Whether you shared in prepping for a new release, working on projects or celebrated at the end of a great event, you were all there giving it 100%.  You're more than friends, you're ohana. Mahalo!

Thank you Mr. Jim for everything and for saying our stamps were cute! You rock! :)

Now I couldn't have dreamt up a finer design team than the ladies who said yes to our Design Team call.  For some it was there 10th team, but for others it was their first.  These talented crafters made this team so much fun to be around.  Their enthusiasm has always been unbelievably amazing.  Each project they shared made me continuously smile.  I'm sure gonna miss that.  My deepest thanks go out to you for breathing life in to our images from the beginning to the end.  Thank you Sandie, Rachel, Kim, Eva, Rosemary, Denice, Blankina, Cebelica, Lisa T, Sheena B, Kathy, Olivia, Corinne, Melissa, Debra, Audrey & Taylor. Our guest designers, Thanh Vo, Danni Bindel & Linda Tan and it wouldn't be complete with out our solo gent and honorary member, Chuck Garcia aka Chuckles.  You will forever be more than friends, you're ohana. Mahalo!

Now I knew that I couldn't have been able to get organized with a team of 12 designers, and I'm so glad that I had help from two very special ladies, our tireless team leaders Rosemary & Denice. Thank you for making it so easy and for always going the extra mile. Could not have done this without you gals. I will be forever grateful for the friendships we've made and the memories we've created.  Love you guys!

Over the next week we'll be sharing some special posts on the Y&FH blog dedicated to the team. Be sure to bookmark all of their blogs, you can also find them on the Yumi & Fumi Handmade sidebar.

Thank you to our friends and fans on the web and at the Carson show.  You all have been amazing.  We definitely made new friends across the pond and right here in our back yard.  We love that you love Yumi & Fumi Handmade and we hope that when you create for a birthday, celebration, blog challenge or just for fun you reach for a Yumi & Fumi Handmade image.  You'll always be a part of our Y&FH ohana too.  Mahalo!

Lastly to my partners Renate' (aka Yumi) & Zach, thank you both for letting me be a part of this journey, we gave it a good shot and learned a lot.  Here's to looking forward to the possibilities for the future.  Love you guys!

If you've read to the end, thanks so much!

Mahalo,
Fumi
