Good morning!
I hope all the mom's out there had a great Mother's Day. My brother and I took my mom to the movies and then came home to a fabulous bbq dinner made by my dad. We had ice-cream for dessert and then watched some movies. All-in-all a pretty terrific day.
Today I wanted to share the tag I made using a long forgotten stamp. I just recently found it and thought it would be perfect for a tag. This turned out to be a pretty fun project for me and in June when my mom goes to Reno I think I'll give this to her with some goodies in a bag for her to take with her.
This cutie is Travel Marci from La-La Land Crafts. I turned it in to a pretty blue monochromatic with touches of brown here and there. I really adore how this turned out. For the background I masked Marci and then stamped an Inkadinkado background stamp over her. Gave the sides a subtle blue distress to soften up the white card. The houndstooth dp is from Pink Paislee. So glad I was able to match the blue here with that paper. :) It's always hard trying to find the right combination to match sometimes. Glad this time it didn't take that long to find something that worked. The sentiment was also PERFECT!! It's an AmyR sentiment stamp, love the font too. Punched some photo corners using and EK punch and for the scalloped edge I used a Spellbinder. On the top of the tag I rounded it using a circle Spellbinder, embossed using a Swiss dot folder, added a sparkly brown ribbon, and some navy blue & white twine. Oh and to cover the hole at the top I used a hole punch and a small circle punch; on top of the twine I punched out a small 5-petal flower and used the little houndstooth circle for the center. Here is the back side of the tag...
Ta-da, did a similar but easier, no color pattern on the back using the same background stamp, Travel Marci and that houndstooth dp. Another little circle hole cover at the top for this side and a little bit of blue distress around the edges to soften it up and I was done. :)
Well thanks so very much for stopping by over the past couple of weeks leaving me lovely comments. I ALWAYS smile after I do. Thanks again!! Have a fantastic Monday!
Hugs,
Leanne

That tag wins the tag of the year award! I love everything about it. Every detail from the color palette to the sentiment works well together. You even decorated the back....very professional. Your mom is so lucky. I hope you are going to make it into a luggage tag too. I'm definitely saving this image in my brain bank of perfect projects.
This is adorable! Such pretty colors and fun embellishments! Gotta love making tags, just big enough for an image and a few perfectly placed embellies!
