Hey!
Can anyone remember what you used to use before Copics? (haha) I know for some of us we like to think there was nothing BC (Before Copics) haha! Well usually I bring my Copic bag with me for occasions where I have time to color. Yesterday I had some time at work to color. This time I didn't bring them and I only had a few Copics (E00 & E21) in my drawer. I was looking in another drawer and found some Joann's Essentials markers! Hey why not.. I know I can't blend or anything, but what the heck right?
So I printed off two images of Jules from Saturated Canary. I started to color one and ended up going a bit dark on her. Used some fun Halloween-ish colors and just had fun...
Doesn't her hair look like grapes?!! hahaha!! Don't look too closely, cause there are tons of mistakes. But I think they still look pretty decent. Here are the markers I used to color these two with.
Now I wanted to go light on the other image so I pulled the softer colors out and here's how she turned out..
She looks a bit better yea? Well not all that much. hahaha.. Still had fun coloring her up. Here are the markers I used on this image...
It was fun going back in time to use some much unloved markers. I usually keep these at work for the kids that come and visit during Christmas. Can't believe they still work!
Here they are side by side. Dark & Light...
Pretty different huh? As much fun as these were to use I still would not trade in my Copics! hahaha!
Don't forget to stop by the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog we're having our very first challenge so pop on over and check it out and we hope you play, the theme is ANYTHING GOES!! Mahalo for stopping by today! Have a lovely day!
Hugs,
Leanne

These are so cute!! Love the fun tones you used....you know sometimes I find myself just scribbling in biro practicing pleats on my papers at work hahahaha
I do that with my daughter's crayons sometimes, just for fun! lol! Very fun, they look like two completely different girls!
haha! BC?? for me it was regular color pencils, but like you said nothing like Copics! Although there are so many other techniques available now. Would be fun to try them all! Great job on these two images! ;D
love the compare and contrast! before copics i used prismacolor markers and gel pens and whatever other pens i could find!
Amazing what a difference in color choices makes... Loved the colors in both!!!
Holy wow. Who would ever think you only used a few Copics. You sure did a spectacular job with the Essential markers. Hot colors and cool card.
How fun to see the contrasting colors! Sometimes I would love to go back to flat, unblended coloring...just because it's easier! Lol! I just colored my 1st SC image last weekend and didn't realize how hard they are to color...I've got so much to learn still. TFS!
:Dxx
Hehe I used my kids coloring pencils or crayons, especially while doing homework with them. Lol. They came out pretty good! Great job, Leanne!
Looks like you had fun! And love the color combos!
