Time to Celebrate!

Aloha and welcome to the next stop on the TGF's 2nd Anniversary/Birthday blog hop. I hope you're having a great time and that you have been inspired so far! Mahalo in advance for any comments you leave. Have fun!!
If you didn't know by now, today is a special day. The Greeting Farm is turning 2 and you are currently enjoying their DT & customer blog hop. Can you believe just two short years ago this cute company took over our hearts with their fun challenges, amazing creations, fun community, and best of all those darn cute stamps!! I have only known of this company since last September when my good friend gave me my first set of stamps. Ever since then I have followed the TGF & CA&F religiously. In the process I have met some really great ladies who inspire me every day with their beautiful projects. So Mahalo TGF and Happy Anniversary/Birthday!!!
For this celebration I made a card. It's another Spellbinders Nestabilities Frame card and this time I went with scalloped & regular squares. The color scheme I decided on is a bright red card with black, white and light aqua blue accents. I chose Miss Cheeky Cherry Rockabilly for my card because she looks really good in red.
Did ya see the rose on her head? I created it with a ribbon. My first time, love how it worked out. To make the flower I used this really cool ruffled red w/ white polka dot ribbon I found in the $1 box at Michael's.
I folded the ribbon in 1/2 and adhered it with double-sided tape on both sides. Then I rolled it until I was satisfied with the width. Love how it looks like a blooming rose.
CC Rockabilly is sitting on a window sill made of white cs and behind her is a light aqua blue background. Used my Cricut to cut some black flourishes and added pearl stickers to them.
If you look closely you can see the swiss dots mimicked in the light aqua blue cs behind CC Rockabilly. That embossing folder is my absolute favorite!
Did you see my little celebration sentiment with that cool black flower? If not here is a close up of it... In the center of the flower is a pearl brad. I was debating on whether to go with diamond looking accents or pearls. After much debate I chose to go with the pearls as they seemed to work out the best. Unfortunately I didn't have a pearl brad, so I had to improvise and make one my self. I used a silver baby button brad and a pearl sticker to create it. Pretty cool huh?! You probably would not have known unless I pointed it out. I'm proud of myself for being creative. For the sentiment I stamped another TGF stamp on the same red cs, punched it out with an oval punch and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. I colored the dots black to mimic Rockabilly's dress. To finish this off I added the brad to the flower, pierced it through the red & black polka dot sentiment and glued the whole thing to a light aqua blue scalloped oval.
Whew, that was a long one! I hope you didn't fall asleep 1/2 way down. :)
Mahalo for spending some time on my blog to see how I wanted to wish The Greeting Farm a special birthday/anniversary wish. You will need to go back to The Greeting Farm blog in order to continue on the hop and see what the other well wishers have created. That's what I plan on doing myself. Have fun and enjoy yourself!!

Cheeky Cherry Rockabilly - what a great choice! I can't wait to start buying the Cheeky gals. I just love them! Your flower in her hair is gorgeous. What an interesting idea to ruffle the ribbon first (or buy it that way) before making a flower. I will have to try that. TFS!
