A card for Michele

My friend Michele is having a birthday this weekend. I just got Darby and Chenille from Amy's Sweet November a couple of weeks ago and thought I would finally get a chance to ink them up. So here is the card I made for my dearest friend:

Some bright and fun paper and a couple punches made this card come together quickly. I used the Saturday sketch from CA&F for the layout since I wanted something simple yet fun. I'll update the supplies later today.

Cherry Farmer Ian

Hello! I think I just missed submitting my card for the CA&F WCW challenge this week. That's what I get for procrastinating.. lol.. Well I posted it anyways.. The challenge was to use fruit or vegetables in the theme. For my card I decided to make a Farmer Ian and made him into a cherry farmer. I altered Sheriff Ian and used Grace's overalls (after I altered them) from TGF. I used some recycled dp from DCWC called Farmer's Market and the sketch is the Saturday Sketch from CA&F. Here is the finished card:

I wiped away his closed eyelids and drew in some eyes. I then altered the overalls a bit by wiping away the patches and drawing in the other strap and added a top pocket. The layout is from the Saturday Sketches and it was perfect for what I had in mind. I found some cherry dp in the paper pack and it was what inspired me to make a cherry farmer. Used some cherry rhinestone accents in the corner to give it more dimension. This was fun to make.

Monday Mania color challenge

Hello! Hope you are all doing well. I just left the CA&F blog and can I just say, "OMG! Marie is killin' me with the cuteness for May!" I really can't wait to see the last preview. Fleur Anya and now Cuddly Anya? My bin is going to be busting at the seams, I'll have to go and buy something bigger.. lol..
On to the card:
CA&F's MM challenge is a color challenge hosted by Michey (http://micheysmusings.blogspot.com/).
Make a card using kraft, sand, khaki and olive green. (http://clubanya.blogspot.com/2010/04/monday-mania-with_26.html.) I also submitted this for the TGF Cares card drive. Here is my card:

Here is the inside of the card:

This time I picked the other boys in my bin. I chose those that I thought represented the professional males. I used Fireman Ian, Sheriff Ian and Soldier Ian all from the TGF line. (I think Marie really needs to make a doctor Ian. (haha))

For Justin & Desiree

Before I get into the card I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU for all of your wonderful comments. :) They just make my day so extra special. I admire all of you and am so very touched with each word. THANK YOU ladies for being my inspirations.

Today's card is pretty fancy.. I made this wedding card for my co-workers using 2 stamps, some Memories patterned dp & solid paper, a few punches, a bold ribbon, a sassy gem, and some fabulous rub-ons. This was my attempt at using rub-ons. Now I have a love-hate relationship with rub-ons. I usually try to steer clear of them as sometimes they are just not worth the effort. Today was the exception. I actually loved them!:
I love it! It's a pretty fancy card in my book. hehe.. oh and I only used 1 colored Copic marker here! haha!! Here is a close up of the Monograms (Rub-ons): I dry embossed it with the swiss dots folder and then ran the label through to make the border. Here is where I used my one and only Copic color! haha.. Yep only 1 this time! :)
Here is the simple design on the inside. This time I used stamps instead of rub-ons:

Well I gotta hit the hay, wakin' up in a few hours to drive up to Las Vegas.
Mahalo for stopping by, have a great Sunday & Monday!
Supplies:
Papers: White card; silver & patterned dp(Wedding series-Making Memories); red cs (Bazzil)| Rub-ons: Wedding (Making Memories)|Stamps fr: Stampin Up & Kollete Hall| Inks/Embossing powder/Marker: Tuxedo blk (Memento); cranberry pigment ink (Color Box); clear embossing powder; C1 (Copic)|Dies/Dry embossing medium: Circles & Label One (Spellbinders); photo corners (EK); swiss dots (Cuttlebug)| Accessories: red ribbon (Straight N' Narrow) and a clear gem

The Boys Wish - TGFC

Here's another card I made today. Gotta crank out the ones for the TGF cares card drive. Not because I want to enter the drawing, yes that's a plus, but also to send out the cards to those needing a smile in their day.
I used 3 of the cool boys from TGF. Surfer Ian, Skater Ian and Oliver & his Buddy. So I guess that makes it 4 huh? LoL
I enjoyed making this card a lot. Went for a simple design and squares always make me happy.. haha.. Found the dp in a stack that I had forgotten about. Finally found something to use it with. Punched some red circles to make it pop and mounted it all on a bright orange card.

Here is the inside of the card. Pretty simple and fun!

A gift for Mother's Day

Happy Friday!
Made this set for my workshop at the office. It's a chipboard frame + card. The stamps I used were from TGF and the set was the Me Time Anya. I found the chipboard (which is actually part of a chipboard book from Studio18) in the $1 section at Michael's.. score! Used some really old but awesome spring paper I forgot I had but came across it the other day. Using the Spellbinders to match the chipboard was a great find as well! I was going for a serene spa feel. I enjoyed making the frame and matching card. It can be used for either a Mother's Day set or not. It's pretty versatile. =)

Here is a close up of the card:

And here is the frame:

Thinking of you - WCW

Good morning!
Made this card for the CA&F Kelly's fun with color challenge & I'll be donating it to the TGF cares card drive: http://clubanya.blogspot.com/2010/04/its-wcwwith-fun-color-challenge.html
I chose to go very simple and bright. Here's my take on the challenge:

I altered Dee Dee's body by using Ebony's head. For the background I punched out Bohemian Vines dp into squares and pasted them on dark brown bazzil cs. Rounded out the card with some punched yellow & white 5-petal flowers at every corner and stamping Thinking of you sentiment in some random places. Simple and fun.
Mahalo for looking!
Supplies: Papers: white card; Bohemian vines dp (Bloom&Grow series fr My Mind's Eye); dark brown & yellow cs (Bazzil); & white cs (Neenah)| Stamps: WS Ebony & Dee Dee (TGF); sentiment (Hero Arts)|Ink/Markers:Tuxedo blk (Memento) & various Copics|Punches: square; 5-petals

Welcome Home!

It's early morning here in LA. I'm watching some Anime on Cartoon Network and making some cards. I made this one earlier today for my co-worker. She & her husband just moved into their first home. It was my first try at using the House stamp from TGF. This is a simple layout. Used that awesome cloud dp and dry embossed the green background cs with a grass embossing folder. Colored in the house with some fun colors and for good luck a red door. I like how this one turned out:

Supplies: Stamps: House & sentiment (TGF & Fiskars)|Paper: white card; dark brown & emerald city green cs (bazzil); cloud dp (Quite Contrary series from My Mind's Eye); Ink/Markers: Tuxedo blk & cottage ivy (Memento) & various Copics| Dies: scallop circle (Nestabilities); oval punch (Stampin' Up); Baby blue ribbon

Surf's Up

Good morning and Happy Saturday!!
It's going to be a busy weekend for me. Lots to do today and tomorrow! I'll be getting some crafting in this morning with my buddy Renate. woohoo! Then off to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese (yikes!) and then a house warming after that. Boy will I be toast when I finally get home.. lol.. On to my card:
I used the sketch from TGF's FFF for this card. Love the simple layout!:

I was altering two TGF stamps (Surfer Ian and Mermaid Anya) the other night and made a surfer Anya.. She's just cruising in the tube on her surf board like she's a pro:

I diamond glazed her flower, her board and a few of the flowers on her shorts. Here is the completed card:

The dp is from the DCWV Tahiti Beach stack (Love it!), which brought some texture and color to the card. Instead of using a button I punched out a sentiment and made it into a button pushing through some twine that I found. I wish I had a Surf's up stamp but the "For you" sentiment works for me.
Well I gotta get my stuff packed for today's craft session, so I'll say Aloha for now and hope you have a fun-filled weekend! Mahalo for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps: Surfer Ian & Mermaid Anya (TGF); sentiment (Hero Arts)|Papers: white card; blk cs; various dp from Tahiti Beach stack (DCWV)|Inks/Markers: Tuxedo blk ink (Memento);various Copics|Punches: circles (Stampin' Up)|Extras: Diamond glaze (Judikins) & some twine

A late card for Evan

Midday post:
I forgot my nephew's birthday so I whipped up this card for him. Not sure if he's into skateboarding, but I know he's into outdoor activities. I purchased that cool dp the other day and am so happy to have found it. Using some boy colors and of course the TGF stamps pulled this card together really quickly. I'll update the supplies when I get home.

Spring Cleaning

Good morning and Happy Friday!
I'm having a really good morning so far and hope you are as well. This is going to be a quick one so here goes...
TGF is having a "spring cleaning" challenge. I decided to use the package wrapping from the Neenah paper I recently bought. I love the colors and the really cool design. It actually looks pretty cool as a subtle background. I also used some yarn that I was planning to give away. Here's what the pre-finished card looks like:

This is an image of the scalloped circle right before I finished the card. I also used the Neenah paper here:

I found a couple more spring cleaning items, a flower pendant that was part of an earring set and a stamp that I used to add a background to the main image of Spotlight Anya. She is so sweet! Here is the finished card:

It was fun looking and rummaging through my craft stuff and finding treasures that I have neglected. Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Mahalo!

Letters for Ian & A card

Happy Friday! Hope your day has been fabulous!
Wanted to share my latest wooden letter project and the matching card I made last night. (Please bear in mind this will be a some what longer post than normal because of the pictures.)
My co-worker requested a set of letters for her godson's 1st birthday. The theme was Winnie the Pooh (Baby version). I actually had a dilemma trying to finish this because I was missing what I thought was the most important tool, my WTP Cricut cartridge! It would have been so easy to cut out what I wanted with it, but alas I had lent it out to a friend who was still using it. So I had to come up with a plan B. I had purchased a few sheets of a WTP dp and thought how could I incorporate it into this project. Well I ended up cutting a couple of the images out and using them as is. I was really please with the way it worked out and my co-worker was equally happy with the result.
Tying it all together in my opinion was the use of Oliver from The Greeting Farm. I had just received the newest OA (Buddies) stamp set and instead of using the cute puppy with Oliver, I altered it by inserting one of the WTP images from the dp. It worked out perfectly! Needless to say I worried over nothing. My co-worker loved the end result and that was all that counted. A bonus was that I loved the result as well. :)
Letters w/out ribbon:

Letter "I": Dry embossed the cs and punched out sm/xs circles writing in some fun words to a few of them. The honey pot is a stamp from Stampin' Up! I used diamond glaze to give it a "wet" look. And here is a really cute sleeping image of Pooh. I'm thinking he's dreaming of that hunny. :)

Letter "A" Dry embossed using the dots folder and punched out more circles. Wrote in more fun words inside a few of them. Also included Oliver with Pooh & Eyeore.

Here is a close up of Oliver & friends Pooh & Eyeore. I tried to make it look as seamless as possible. Looks good to me, what do you think?

Letter "N" Embossed this last letter and punched out some circles. I wrote in more fun words and included Pooh & Piglet on top and Tigger and Pooh on the bottom.

She also requested a matching card, so using one of the CA&F (Club Anya & Friends) sketches I used the same cs and dp as well as some of the stamps used for the wooden letters. Adding a couple of cut outs from the WTP dp tied this card together perfectly. I really love the result:

Oliver, Pooh & Eyeore up close. Yes, his outfit is different, at least in color it is. :)

Card sentiment up close: For the sentiment I used a clear stamp I got in the $1 section at Michael's (score!). keeping with the theme added a couple punched circles. I also cut out a cute Piglet and Tigger image from another dp I purchased. These guys are about 3 cm high, so they are very small. Cutting them was a bit of a challenge, especially because the paper is so thin.

I found a really great blue & green ribbon in my stash that I adhered right before I handed the whole thing over to Carol (my co-worker), it was the right touch to finish off the project. Here is the whole set together:

AHHH!!! I'm thankful that I was able to come up with a plan B. This is probably one of my favorite projects I've completed.

Geisha Shadow Box

Good evening, going to make this a fast post as a couple of my tv shows are on. Switching between DWTS and NCIS.. O how I wish they were both on different nights, or at least different times. haha..
Now back to my post.. I made this simple shadow box for my co-worker. She requested a similar one I had made for another co-worker for Christmas. This worked out perfectly for the Monday Mania challenge at CA&F! The challenge, ABC (Anything But Cards) is pretty self-explanatory, but just in case it's meant to be anything but a card for this challenge. So the projects must be anything but a card. Well no problem here. haha..
Here are several shots of the box:

I used Geisha Anya's lovely and serene face for this display. The outfit is made from origami paper. A single strip of another o/p using similar colors frames Geisha Anya in the background.
Arigato for looking!
Supplies used:
Shadow box: Memory box holds a 4x6 picture (Recollections)
Stamp: Geisha Anya (TGF)
Inks/Markers: Tuxedo Blk (Memento ink) & Copic markers
Various origami papers (Hanko Designs & Marukai)

Happy Sunday!

Happy Easter! Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday with your family and friends.
Finished this card last night. It's not an Easter card, but a birthday card for a co-worker. I pieced together 5 TGF stamps to make these kids. I don't know if he's into cheerleaders, but I thought it would be fun. I cut out the first and last letters with my Cricut machine and altered the letters on each cheerleaders top, including the little boy's to spell out "ADRIAN":

Since I wanted to showcase the kids, I didn't do too much to the card except for a few bold lines. Using only a few colors makes this a simple yet fun card, it's also probably one of the longest I've done. It's 11" in length!
4/6: I just entered it in the Anya Ink challenge. [http://anyaink.blogspot.com/2010/04/we-are-back-and-with-very-fabulous.html]:)
