KBD Spotlight - August

Hi!

(Update):
Sorry everyone, I totally forgot that I had scheduled this a while back!!  HAHAHA!  Due to my own personal reasons I am no longer a part of the KBD team.  Sorry for the confusion!!  As you can tell I'm taking a break from the crafting world and hope to be back soon.  As to when that will be I'm not sure yet.  Thanks for your support and kind words!  I'll keep this up because I worked really hard on it, but just know that this is not on the Spotlight page at Kitty Bee Designs.  Thanks!! ^_^v

I'm spotlighting my August calendar over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog today.  This is featuring Shave Ice Bun.

The patterned paper was a perfect choice for this page because it reminds me that August is the beginning of summer.  And what better way to break the heat than to grab some form of cold ice?   Hope you're all having a great day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

KBD Spotlight - March

Hi!!

Today is the first Monday and it's spotlight time for me over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog.  Here is the March calendar featuring Boy's Day Bear.

Bright and fun is what I was going for here.  That patterned paper was perfect for my idea and this came together fairly quickly.  I really don't have too much to say here except I hope you're all having a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

LFF #101 on Saturday - A few calendars for 2016

Hello!

Nothing like some rain to make you want to just roll up in a cozy blanket and not do anything!  hahaha!  Yes, much of California is being inundated with rain courtesy of El Nin-yo.  We've also got snow on the mountain so for those who think it doesn't snow here it does just at a higher elevation.

So getting in to today's LFF #101 post on Saturday I wanted to share the only 2016 calendars I made which went to my mom's Monday Coco's group of friends.  She totally wiped out my calendars so I had to buy some from a friend, thanks Kathy for your stash!  I went with CAS, cute and decided to do an Asian theme.   It's the year of the Monkey so a few monkey cards along with the ever cute Maneki Neko were perfect and neutral.

Ai ya sorry this picture is sooo blurrry!!  I took more below, but these are it.  Images, dies & sentiments are from Mama Elephants All Prettied UpLunar Animals and Lunar Extras.  I also used one MFT die, Die-namics Stitched Mini Scallop circle, black cardstock, and paper from the Far East stack from DCWV.  Here's a closer look at each calendar/card with the monkey themed card up first...

Hehehe, the little hat is so cute.  I guess I could have lowered it a little bit more on his head, nah looks just right.  Such a sweet combination of images.  The red envelope he's holding is from the Lunar Extra set.  Lots of fun images in that set.  Since these were cards I also did a simple message on the inside:

Here's the Maneki Neko cat card :

Had to look online to see what colors are used to color him/her.  I liked this color combo the best.  The Chinese characters says Happy New Year and a simple message on the inside with some falling sakura flowers...

I made 5 of each and my mom said everyone loved them.  Woo Hoo!!

I placed an order for more calendars because I had a few requests from my co-workers.  Thinkin I can maybe make a few dollars to support my habit, I mean hobby.  (hehehe)

Now on to the winner of last week's LFF 100th post, thank you to Jenny W, Lynn, Denice & Heidi for commenting.  I wish I could give you each something, so guess what?!  I will!  Congratulations ladies!  If you all live in the US you all qualify.  Please email me your snail mail: quikhonu34@yahoo.com and I'll get your goodies in the mail within the next couple weeks.  If I already have it you'll get it sooner.

Well looks like I'll be doing a little coloring and making stuff for meet ups with some of my crafty friends who are in town for CHA.  No I'm not going to the show but doesn't mean I can't meet up with them outside the arena.  Hope to have some photos to share.  Until then, have a fabulous weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

A Kitty Bee Designs 2016 calendar - January

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing something relaxing on the first Monday of the new year.  Me?  Well I'm at work cause it's a work day for me.  I know, I know, the injustice of it all right?  hahaha!  Well that's what I get for going in to a field where the only holidays we observe aren't the same as the city or the school system.  Sigh...  hahaha!

Although the Kitties & the Bees are on hiatus I wanted to continue to share here.  For today I've got the front of a calendar plus January from my 2016 calendar I made with Kitty Bee Designs images. Through out the year I'll be sharing each page for my monthly spotlight here and on the KBD blog.  First up is the cover...

I used a nice spring-like patterned paper, La-La Land Crafts die cut numbers and Firecracker Panda from Kitty Bee Designs.  Below is my January page featuring Bathtime Pup.

Each of the pages in the calendar are clean & simple and are not traditional, as in the theme of the month might not be what you might expect it to be.  I decided to make a calendar based on my idea for each month and using the Kitty Bee Design images made it so simple.  The calendars themselves are from Taylored Expressions and this year I was mindful enough to only buy 10.  (lol)  Yes, I learned my lesson last year.  Well I'll wrap it up now, thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll get to play with some stamps, papers and markers today while I'm at work slaving away... lol!!  Bye!

Happy Birthday Maile! - 1st Birthday card of 2016

Hello!!

Hope you all had a nice New Year's Day.  Every year on New Year's Day we go to my friend's house to celebrate and for the past 11 of those years it has been a double celebration with a birthday party and New Years celebration all rolled in to one.  I spent the morning working on this card for my friend's niece's birthday...

It's still got a little bit of the holiday flair going on, but with a touch of birthday fun.  I used the adorable image from TGF's Secret Santa set as the focal point.  I also broke open my Recollections Craft It Vintage Glam paper pads for this one.  Might as well use something new for this card.  I like this paper pad, lots of glam and glitter and it has lots of craft paper designs.  Also used here are some go to MFT dies, Blueprints 20 & Stitched mini scallops oval.  From Mama Elephant the two sentiments dies.  The gems and flower are both from Recollections.

I took this with me to the party for the birthday girl.  With friends, relatives and my parents, I spent another wonderful day celebrating not only the new year, but my friend's sweet niece's birthday.  Another wonderful surprise was to see one of my former basketball players there with her little family.  Her husband coaches my friend's niece in basketball!  Small world!  It was another blessing to see her there and to know she's doing so well.

Now that the Christmas season has passed, I'll be sharing the other cards & projects I made which include lots of birthday cards.  It should be fun trying to remember all the products I used, so if I can't remember please don't hold it against me.  hahaha!  Cheers to day 2 of 2016.  Thanks for stopping by!

Lilo's Fun Friday #100 - 2016

Happy Aloha Friday
&
Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you had a fabulous time celebrating the new year last night.  I spent a quiet night at home after a long day at work.  I plan on crafting a little bit this weekend and hanging out with friends and family.   I hope you get to do the same.

Today's Lilo's Fun Friday #100, (wow is it really the 100th post already?!)  I thought I'd share this card using a favorite (of many) Sister Stamps images, Mei Lin, from the very first release.

This is definitely a CAS kind of card using a few of my favorite companies.   Besides Sister Stamps, there's the washi paper from Hanko Designs and a couple new MFT dies (stitched rounded rectangle & LLD stitched numbers).

Not sure if you know that Sister Stamps will no longer be producing any more stamps.  It's such a shame because they are some of thee cutest stamps around.   They rank up there with the best in my opinion.  Although I'm sure many of the SS fans are sad we should also be happy that they gave us some wonderful stamps to cherish and continue to use.  I know I will.

I don't normally have NY's resolutions but I saw this one online and thought it was appropriate.

Hahaha!!

Hoping this year brings everyone peace, joy, laughter, wealth, health, strength & many more wonderful experiences.  2015 was a great year and I look forward to...

with you all.  Since this is my 100th Lilo's Fun Friday post I'd like to do a small give-a-way. (US residents only)  I have a couple Sister Stamps in my stash that I'd like to gift to one of you.  I might throw in some other crafty goodies as I have a lot to share.  If you're interested leave me a comment and I'll pick one of you next Friday.

Mahalo for stopping by, have a blessed 1st day of 2016.

Hugs,
Lilo

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 25 Lilo's Fun Friday #99

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

It's been a fun filled day of food, friends, and family.  I hope you and your family and the company you are with are having a wonderful day celebrating or just hanging out too.

It's the final day of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy and I'm so happy to say we made it!!  Yay!!  For today's Lilo's Fun Friday #99, my last post of this challenge, I decided to share my beginner's Christmas wreath that my sister was teaching me how to make over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Ta-da!!!  I know it's sooo busy!!!  I didn't know what I was getting in to when I picked those colors, but I really wanted to add the black.  I'm going to ask my sister to help me fix it.  It needs her touch.

I can honestly say that this was really tough to make.  It really takes patience, which I thought I had, and an eye for detail, which I don't have.  (LOL)  This took a bit too much of my patience!  (hahaha!)  I think I'll stick to card making.  :D  But I'm happy I got to give this a try.  I might give it a go again, but this time not so many colors.  We'll see.  Here are a couple group pictures from today with our extended families the Ontiveros & Tanjuctos.

Before I sign off I wanted to take this moment to say Thanks to Linda & Kathy for joining me in this fun challenge.  Could not have done it without their support.  Thank you all for stopping by!

From our house to yours, may you all enjoy the time with your families and count your blessings each day.  Merry Christmas!

xoxo,
Lilo

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 24

Hello!

I'm back to share day 24 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I hope you're having a nice time with your family and friends celebrating.  It's still super early (as I write up this post) so everyone is slowly beginning to wake up.

For day 24 I shared the card my mom picked to send to Grandma.  She had her pick of either the one I just shared (scroll down) or this one.

She picked this one.  This is another combo of some of my favorite companies: Hanko Designs, La-La Land Crafts and Island Scrapbooking.  If you've been following this challenge with me you'll recognize the layout from another card I made using Haruyo from Sister Stamps.  I was planning on making the same card but decided not to.  Instead I used Paper Doll Marci Kimono from La-La Land Crafts.  I colored her up again with Copics and this time I left the dangling baubles.  They're under the gems.  (hahaha)  I loved the way Irina colored Marci's kimono on the packaging so I tried to do the same, yeah turned out better than I had hoped.  (hahaha)  Last but not least is the beautiful Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment.  It used to be a pretty light pink, but I colored it black with a Copic marker.  It made more sense to me.  (hahaha)

Thanks again for dropping in today.  I'll be back to share the final day of this challenge.  I just need to choose what I'll share.  Until then have a beautiful day!!

xoxo,
Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 23

Hello!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I've been so darned busy these last 3 days that I forgot to post day 23 - 24!  So I will post each one today along with day 25.  So sorry you'll see 3 posts from me, I'll try to keep them short.

For day 23 of the 25 Days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I shared this Asian themed card featuring some beautiful La- La Land dies and image, an Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment and a Hanko Designs Tsumugi cardstock & washi paper...

I had some fun with washi paper and the La-La Land lanterns banner.   I used the adorably sweet Paper Doll Marci Kimono.  Colored her with Copics, including her kimono with the pretty details.  I trimmed off her hair baubles because I wanted to keep it CAS. About the card base, I had already punched out the bottom part of this card with an EK success border punch so just dressing up the rest of the card was what it needed.   The lanterns were paper pieced with washi paper from Hanko Designs and I used gold foil for the tassels.  Here is a close-up of the lanterns.

Adding the red gems to the snowflake centers also ties in to the flowers on Marci's kimono,  I love the layout and of course the Asian theme.  This is another one of my favorite cards for this holiday season.

Thank you for stopping by and I do apologize for all the posts today.  Merry Christmas!!  Hope you are spending it with family and friends and enjoying the time together reflecting on this wonderful day.

xoxo,
Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 22

Hey!!

Yikes only 3 more days left!  Are we ready?!  I really feel like a re-do for the whole month of December.  Here's a fun winter card I made for day 22 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.

From top to bottom this is one fun CAS card.  I used Krystal from The Greeting Farm SSS.  The reindeer are dies from La-La Land Crafts.  The beautiful border is also from LLLC.  The hills were created with a Mama Elephant die.  I thought the sentiment from AmyR was sweet for this scene.  And the pretty blue snowflake paper was from my many years stash.  I love the color combo here, definitely a winter wonderland scene.

I think this one will be another short post tonight.  Tomorrow is another work day for me and I still need to figure out what I'll share for day 23.  I hope you're all having a nice relaxing evening.  Hopefully I'm not up too late writing that post.  lol..  Thanks for popping in!

Leanne

25 Day of Christmas Challenge - Day 21

Hello!!

Oi!!  This is super late!  I've either been late here or on IG.  hahaha!  Today, I'm late here.  So I'll make it short and sweet for day 21 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy with this sweet onesie Christmas card...

Hehehe,  I love this card!  It's super duper CAS.  I used the MFT baby onesie die for this easy peasy card.  A Santa sticker to go on top with some white stitching and a Ho*Ho*Ho sentiment.   I bought that designer paper from Hobby Lobby and was waiting for just the right time to use it.  This card seemed perfect!  I did something simple with the inside using a new MFT die and a new La-La Land Crafts club kit die.

The sentiment is an older AmyR one and I love how simple it is.  Totally love the simpleness of this card.  I hope you do too.  Hope you're all enjoying the countdown to Christmas.  I certainly am going a little bit wacky, but so loving it.  If only I could be off from work like all the school kids.  That would be perfect!!  hehehe!   Thanks so much for popping in!  See you tomorrow!

xoxo,
Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 19

Hello!

Today I'm starting off a little bit slower to post.  (hahaha)  I have something different (to me) to share for day 19 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.

This beautiful scrapbook layout features some beautiful dies from La-La Land Crafts and the oh-so pretty, Christmas Molli.  It was designed by the very super talented DTL, Suzanne Kohler  (Hi Sue!).  As is Sue's style, tons of dies were used to create this winter wonderland.  (I will list them below.) Everything is well thought out and so pretty IRL.  The part that took the longest were the hills.  It might look easy, but we actually had to put a puzzle together to get them to look so "natural".

This is the first project I did at the La-La Land Palooza craft retreat.  Luckily I did because I don't think I would have finished it at all.  (Scrapbook pages are not my thing, hahaha)  But I'm glad I finished, I do love how it turned out.  I didn't have a picture to put in the box, I haven't printed pictures in ages!  So I'll have to find a good one to fill the space.  Here's a close-up of Christmas Molli colored with Copics.

Well I have to get back to the Christmas craziness happening at my desk.  I hope you're having a great day.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with another special share for day 20 of this super fun challenge.  Until then have a wonderful rest of your day!!

Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 18, Lilo's Fun Friday #98

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Wow just one more week and Christmas will finally be here!!  I bet you're all already done with the shopping and sending out Christmas cards right?!  Not me, I'm always late.  (hahaha)

For Lilo's Fun Friday (#98)  I wanted to share another baby's 1st Christmas card for the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I hope it makes you smile...

This cutie shaking his bootie is Po from Sister Stamps.  I colored a onesie around him and gave him a cute little Santa hat.  The layout is just as CAS as yesterday's card.  Love those hanging snowflakes from my newest La-La Land Crafts club kit.  Also used the MFT bib die and a Crafter's companion snowflake embossing folder.  The papers are all from my stash and might look familiar as I'm trying to use them up!

Hope you all enjoy the last weekend before Christmas!!  Have a happy Aloha Friday and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 17

Good morning!

Today I have a super sweet card to share for day 17 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge.  I have a friend who has a little one celebrating her very first Christmas!  So I wanted to create something special just for her.  I hope when she grows up she likes it.

Squee!!   (hahaha)  The layout is pretty CAS.  No unnecessary frills, but still girly.  I used a few of my favorite companies on this card.  The adorable baby panda Ling Ling from Sister Stamps, snowflake banner from La-La Land Crafts, baby bib die (discontinued) from MFT, Merry Christmas embossing folder from Crafter's Companion.  The papers are all from my stash as well as the sequins and the Christmas hat sticker.  I colored Ling Ling as if she was wearing a onesie.  She is super sweet!!  The sentiment was handwritten.

I made a few more of these and will share it later.  For now I hope you enjoyed today's share.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 16

Hey everyone!!

I'm still rolling with the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy and having fun with it.  Today I thought I'd share the card that Linda designed for our get-together with Kathy, Belia & Donna.  Here is it...

A sweet 4x4 card combining some La-La Land dies and a sweet Secret Santa Anya.  The igloo, sentiment and sea lion are from one of the La-La Land Club kits.  The clouds were made with a stencil and some Distress inks.  Adding the sequins in the sky for touches of sparkle.  The igloo is spectacular with it's glittery shield.  I chose some bold colors for SS Anya and subtle tones for the sea lion.  One of the cutest cards I've done so far.  Thanks Linda for the sweet design!

Hope you're all having a nice week.  Thanks so much for dropping by!

xoxo,
Leanne
