25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 18, Lilo's Fun Friday #98

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Wow just one more week and Christmas will finally be here!!  I bet you're all already done with the shopping and sending out Christmas cards right?!  Not me, I'm always late.  (hahaha)

For Lilo's Fun Friday (#98)  I wanted to share another baby's 1st Christmas card for the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I hope it makes you smile...

This cutie shaking his bootie is Po from Sister Stamps.  I colored a onesie around him and gave him a cute little Santa hat.  The layout is just as CAS as yesterday's card.  Love those hanging snowflakes from my newest La-La Land Crafts club kit.  Also used the MFT bib die and a Crafter's companion snowflake embossing folder.  The papers are all from my stash and might look familiar as I'm trying to use them up!

Hope you all enjoy the last weekend before Christmas!!  Have a happy Aloha Friday and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 17

Good morning!

Today I have a super sweet card to share for day 17 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge.  I have a friend who has a little one celebrating her very first Christmas!  So I wanted to create something special just for her.  I hope when she grows up she likes it.

Squee!!   (hahaha)  The layout is pretty CAS.  No unnecessary frills, but still girly.  I used a few of my favorite companies on this card.  The adorable baby panda Ling Ling from Sister Stamps, snowflake banner from La-La Land Crafts, baby bib die (discontinued) from MFT, Merry Christmas embossing folder from Crafter's Companion.  The papers are all from my stash as well as the sequins and the Christmas hat sticker.  I colored Ling Ling as if she was wearing a onesie.  She is super sweet!!  The sentiment was handwritten.

I made a few more of these and will share it later.  For now I hope you enjoyed today's share.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

xoxo,
Leanne

Birthday cards for my stash

Hey everyone!

Today I have two random birthday cards to share.  One very feminine and one masculine.  Always nice to have these in my stash.  This is going to be a pretty short post as all I have are 4 pictures.

Using some flowers from my stash, the card above has a lot of different fun textures.  Even the flowers are made of different materials.  The card below was simple and quick, love those kinds of cards.

And there you have it!  hahaha!  Short and sweet today.  Happy Thursday friends.  Make it a great one!!

LFF #74 ~ Arigato

Hello!

Happy Friday!  Or what's left of it!  (haha)

June has flown by so quickly especially now that the summer has begun.  I hope you've all been able to enjoy some of it.  Today I felt like sharing this card for Lilos's Fun Friday #74.

I used another one of the beautiful Asian images from the Crafter's Companions Oriental Delights stamp set.  This time I used this beautiful serene Asian lady.  Pretty yea?   I paired her up with oval and scalloped oval dies, red cardstock, Hanko washi paper, and a few dies.  The sentiment is a laser cut word from Island Scrapbooking.

I know you can't tell but that does say "Arigato" :) How about a close-up of this beautiful lady?  In this next picture are you able to see the shimmer?  I used my WOS glitter pen on her dress.

I really love this image, can't wait to ink her up again!  Mahalo for stopping by, I hope you all have a terrific weekend doing something fun, like crafting! or spending the weekend in a converted convention center watching volleyball.  yay!

From me to you

Hi!

Today I wanted to share a card featuring another of the images from this beautiful stamp set from Crafter's Companion.  The first card I shared had bright and bold colors. This card is showing some of the opposite. More softer girly colors, it goes so well with this image.

Isn't she gorgeous?  Love how elegant and beautiful she is. The washi paper is one of my favorites from Hanko Designs, the embossing folder in the background is also from Hanko Designs.  Love how the oval frames her beautifully.  I added 3 pink Prima flowers, lace trim from Daiso and the sentiment is computer generated.  I masked her and used one of the other background stamps to stamp right behind her.

The last touch was adding sparkle to her kimono and the 3 flowers on top of her umbrella. So happy with how it turned out.  Thank you so much for stopping by, appreciate it a lot. Take care!

Hello Friend!

Hello!

Today is my Friday! Woo Hoo!  Heading out of town for my cousin's long anticipated wedding.  I'm sure it's going to be beautiful and fun.  Hanging out with the cousins to celebrate this special occasion is going to be a blast but also bittersweet as we'll be missing some beloved relatives.

Here's a happy card for today...

Isn't she pretty?  I purchased  this stamp set a while ago and recently found it as I was going through some boxes trying to look for some papers & flowers.  It's from Crafter's Companion and has a total of 9 stamps on it.  I was excited to dig in to these right away.  I have two other cards that I will share later on, for today this pretty little geisha girl gets the spotlight.  I used some pretty washi papers from Hanko Designs that I have been wanting to play with and decided to accent with blacks & reds.  Black lace, black mattes, red cardstock you get the idea.  Here's the full version of the card, front view ...

I wanted to use more of the washi paper so decided to make an easel card.  Here's a side view...

She was colored with Copics as was the lantern, which is also part of this set.  It's funny cause I realize that the tea pot looks tilted!  Not sure if that's how I stamped it or I just cut the scene out crookedly.  Maybe instead of tea there's hot sake inside! ;)  hahaha! For the bottom part I mimicked the top but used red cardstock and dressed it up with some flower punches, a computer generated sentiment and doodles here and there. Here's a close-up...

Yes, I did fussy cut the sentiment, it looks more whimsical to me.  What do you think?  I used my white gel pen to add some fun dots around the paper.  I'm diggin' the bright colors, reminds me of summer.  The sunflowers mimic the ones on her kimono.  You can't tell above but I went over her & the lantern with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen, it looks beautiful IRL.  This is the best picture I could get...

Hope this made you smile.  I'm looking forward to sharing the other cards in this set soon.  Since I'm talking about cute Asian stamps did you happen to see the new Sister Stamps release yet?!  If not, the ladies are in the middle of previews and boy are they adorable!  For all the details head on over here.  Well friends I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your days. I appreciate all the love you give me and hope I've done the same for you.  Until next time, Mahalo for stopping by, have a great day!!

Best Wishes....2014! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope you all had a safe and wonderful NYE.  Whew, 2013 went out with a bang around my area.  Lots of illegal fireworks in the neighborhood, (fireworks are illegal in most of Los Angeles, but that certainly does not stop anyone from shooting them off, especially in my neighborhood - hahaha) and what was I doing?  Well I spent it with a few friends from work eating at our usual restaurant with 12 dishes between us and then a good chill at the nearby Mc D's for a drink, non-alcoholic.  It was nice especially since it will be the last time before one of my buds leaves.  After that it was a quiet night of crafting for me and that is what I'm going to share with you today.  :)

BTW, this turned into a longer post than expected.  It's filled with lots of pictures so if you don't have time to read my drivel just look at the pictures.  (lol)  Now I chose this image because I have been wanting to stamp and color her since I saw the previews back in November!!

It's technically a red envelope with a tag.  I was planning to make it in to a card but changed my mind and glued down what would have been the opening.  Now it's an envelope with Mieko from Sister Stamps peeking out.  Isn't she sweet?!  She's enjoying her mochi balls while ringing in the new year.  To read more on Mieko here's a link to the Sister Stamps blog post.

As I mentioned there is a tag and here it is up close...

Ta-da!  I stamped and colored Mieko in the center of some big white space.  You probably can't tell but I added some gold & black flecks to her kimono to break up all the red.  Hopefully in the later picture you'll be able to see it.  Added some sakura flowers, from Island Scrapbooking, and used a popular AmyR sentiment stamp.  The ribbon is a red and gold sparkly one that I purchased at Daiso and to cover the punched hole I used some of the red & gold paper.

Once you pull out the tag with Mieko on it there is something left behind.  (haha)  Pretty cool yea?  I did make it in to a window and didn't have to waste any paper to do it!  Woo hoo!

Kinda like the idea of putting a sentiment, or in this case, numbers inside the window and then the "Best Wishes" below it.  The 2014 are number dies from CC Designs.  The red and gold paper is Lokta paper from India.  I covered the red cardstock with it.  I embossed the back side of the card, which I will show you in a sec, and for the finish some pretty flowers from Petaloo here and there.

Here is the back...

Oops! I just realized that my watermark covers one of the words.  Well if you don't recognize the kanji it means "Joy".  I stamped Love, Happiness (because there is no peace symbol) and Joy, from Crafters Companion, on the back and embossed it with clear powder to make it stand out.  I used the circles from the window in the front and also cut a window circle (is that a crafty word? hehe) of the Lokta paper to go around.  As you can see there is that cool embossing folder, from Lifestyle Crafts (Woven EF0011), I've been using if quite often now.  I also added that pretty red and gold ribbon to the top for another touch of sparkle.  Here's a close-up of the back...

Wow, that is some RED yea?!  hahaha.. Sorry my picture skills need some work, especially with reds... Just look at the black parts and the golds if you can. (hahaha)  Okay, okay winding down to the end... I know finally yea?!  hehe, sorry who knew it would take this long!  Eep!  Anyhoos, I'm happy with the end result of what started before Christmas and ended a little after the New Year began.  I hope you all have a wonderful start to 2014 and may it be fulfilling and prosperous!

Now it's time to eat some mochi!!  Itadakimasu!!   Hou'oli Makahiki Hou! Akemashite Omedetou!  Happy New Year everyone!!  May it be blessed!!

Hugs,
Lilo
