A Kitty Bee Designs 2016 calendar - January

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing something relaxing on the first Monday of the new year.  Me?  Well I'm at work cause it's a work day for me.  I know, I know, the injustice of it all right?  hahaha!  Well that's what I get for going in to a field where the only holidays we observe aren't the same as the city or the school system.  Sigh...  hahaha!

Although the Kitties & the Bees are on hiatus I wanted to continue to share here.  For today I've got the front of a calendar plus January from my 2016 calendar I made with Kitty Bee Designs images. Through out the year I'll be sharing each page for my monthly spotlight here and on the KBD blog.  First up is the cover...

I used a nice spring-like patterned paper, La-La Land Crafts die cut numbers and Firecracker Panda from Kitty Bee Designs.  Below is my January page featuring Bathtime Pup.

Each of the pages in the calendar are clean & simple and are not traditional, as in the theme of the month might not be what you might expect it to be.  I decided to make a calendar based on my idea for each month and using the Kitty Bee Design images made it so simple.  The calendars themselves are from Taylored Expressions and this year I was mindful enough to only buy 10.  (lol)  Yes, I learned my lesson last year.  Well I'll wrap it up now, thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll get to play with some stamps, papers and markers today while I'm at work slaving away... lol!!  Bye!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 24

Hello!

I'm back to share day 24 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I hope you're having a nice time with your family and friends celebrating.  It's still super early (as I write up this post) so everyone is slowly beginning to wake up.

For day 24 I shared the card my mom picked to send to Grandma.  She had her pick of either the one I just shared (scroll down) or this one.

She picked this one.  This is another combo of some of my favorite companies: Hanko Designs, La-La Land Crafts and Island Scrapbooking.  If you've been following this challenge with me you'll recognize the layout from another card I made using Haruyo from Sister Stamps.  I was planning on making the same card but decided not to.  Instead I used Paper Doll Marci Kimono from La-La Land Crafts.  I colored her up again with Copics and this time I left the dangling baubles.  They're under the gems.  (hahaha)  I loved the way Irina colored Marci's kimono on the packaging so I tried to do the same, yeah turned out better than I had hoped.  (hahaha)  Last but not least is the beautiful Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment.  It used to be a pretty light pink, but I colored it black with a Copic marker.  It made more sense to me.  (hahaha)

Thanks again for dropping in today.  I'll be back to share the final day of this challenge.  I just need to choose what I'll share.  Until then have a beautiful day!!

xoxo,
Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 23

Hello!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I've been so darned busy these last 3 days that I forgot to post day 23 - 24!  So I will post each one today along with day 25.  So sorry you'll see 3 posts from me, I'll try to keep them short.

For day 23 of the 25 Days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I shared this Asian themed card featuring some beautiful La- La Land dies and image, an Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment and a Hanko Designs Tsumugi cardstock & washi paper...

I had some fun with washi paper and the La-La Land lanterns banner.   I used the adorably sweet Paper Doll Marci Kimono.  Colored her with Copics, including her kimono with the pretty details.  I trimmed off her hair baubles because I wanted to keep it CAS. About the card base, I had already punched out the bottom part of this card with an EK success border punch so just dressing up the rest of the card was what it needed.   The lanterns were paper pieced with washi paper from Hanko Designs and I used gold foil for the tassels.  Here is a close-up of the lanterns.

Adding the red gems to the snowflake centers also ties in to the flowers on Marci's kimono,  I love the layout and of course the Asian theme.  This is another one of my favorite cards for this holiday season.

Thank you for stopping by and I do apologize for all the posts today.  Merry Christmas!!  Hope you are spending it with family and friends and enjoying the time together reflecting on this wonderful day.

Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 22

Hey!!

Yikes only 3 more days left!  Are we ready?!  I really feel like a re-do for the whole month of December.  Here's a fun winter card I made for day 22 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.

From top to bottom this is one fun CAS card.  I used Krystal from The Greeting Farm SSS.  The reindeer are dies from La-La Land Crafts.  The beautiful border is also from LLLC.  The hills were created with a Mama Elephant die.  I thought the sentiment from AmyR was sweet for this scene.  And the pretty blue snowflake paper was from my many years stash.  I love the color combo here, definitely a winter wonderland scene.

I think this one will be another short post tonight.  Tomorrow is another work day for me and I still need to figure out what I'll share for day 23.  I hope you're all having a nice relaxing evening.  Hopefully I'm not up too late writing that post.  lol..  Thanks for popping in!

25 Day of Christmas Challenge - Day 21

Hello!!

Oi!!  This is super late!  I've either been late here or on IG.  hahaha!  Today, I'm late here.  So I'll make it short and sweet for day 21 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy with this sweet onesie Christmas card...

Hehehe,  I love this card!  It's super duper CAS.  I used the MFT baby onesie die for this easy peasy card.  A Santa sticker to go on top with some white stitching and a Ho*Ho*Ho sentiment.   I bought that designer paper from Hobby Lobby and was waiting for just the right time to use it.  This card seemed perfect!  I did something simple with the inside using a new MFT die and a new La-La Land Crafts club kit die.

The sentiment is an older AmyR one and I love how simple it is.  Totally love the simpleness of this card.  I hope you do too.  Hope you're all enjoying the countdown to Christmas.  I certainly am going a little bit wacky, but so loving it.  If only I could be off from work like all the school kids.  That would be perfect!!  hehehe!   Thanks so much for popping in!  See you tomorrow!

xoxo,
Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 19

Hello!

Today I'm starting off a little bit slower to post.  (hahaha)  I have something different (to me) to share for day 19 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.

This beautiful scrapbook layout features some beautiful dies from La-La Land Crafts and the oh-so pretty, Christmas Molli.  It was designed by the very super talented DTL, Suzanne Kohler  (Hi Sue!).  As is Sue's style, tons of dies were used to create this winter wonderland.  (I will list them below.) Everything is well thought out and so pretty IRL.  The part that took the longest were the hills.  It might look easy, but we actually had to put a puzzle together to get them to look so "natural".

This is the first project I did at the La-La Land Palooza craft retreat.  Luckily I did because I don't think I would have finished it at all.  (Scrapbook pages are not my thing, hahaha)  But I'm glad I finished, I do love how it turned out.  I didn't have a picture to put in the box, I haven't printed pictures in ages!  So I'll have to find a good one to fill the space.  Here's a close-up of Christmas Molli colored with Copics.

Well I have to get back to the Christmas craziness happening at my desk.  I hope you're having a great day.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with another special share for day 20 of this super fun challenge.  Until then have a wonderful rest of your day!!

Leanne

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 18, Lilo's Fun Friday #98

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Wow just one more week and Christmas will finally be here!!  I bet you're all already done with the shopping and sending out Christmas cards right?!  Not me, I'm always late.  (hahaha)

For Lilo's Fun Friday (#98)  I wanted to share another baby's 1st Christmas card for the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy.  I hope it makes you smile...

This cutie shaking his bootie is Po from Sister Stamps.  I colored a onesie around him and gave him a cute little Santa hat.  The layout is just as CAS as yesterday's card.  Love those hanging snowflakes from my newest La-La Land Crafts club kit.  Also used the MFT bib die and a Crafter's companion snowflake embossing folder.  The papers are all from my stash and might look familiar as I'm trying to use them up!

Hope you all enjoy the last weekend before Christmas!!  Have a happy Aloha Friday and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 17

Good morning!

Today I have a super sweet card to share for day 17 of the 25 days of Christmas challenge.  I have a friend who has a little one celebrating her very first Christmas!  So I wanted to create something special just for her.  I hope when she grows up she likes it.

Squee!!   (hahaha)  The layout is pretty CAS.  No unnecessary frills, but still girly.  I used a few of my favorite companies on this card.  The adorable baby panda Ling Ling from Sister Stamps, snowflake banner from La-La Land Crafts, baby bib die (discontinued) from MFT, Merry Christmas embossing folder from Crafter's Companion.  The papers are all from my stash as well as the sequins and the Christmas hat sticker.  I colored Ling Ling as if she was wearing a onesie.  She is super sweet!!  The sentiment was handwritten.

I made a few more of these and will share it later.  For now I hope you enjoyed today's share.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 16

Hey everyone!!

I'm still rolling with the 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy and having fun with it.  Today I thought I'd share the card that Linda designed for our get-together with Kathy, Belia & Donna.  Here is it...

A sweet 4x4 card combining some La-La Land dies and a sweet Secret Santa Anya.  The igloo, sentiment and sea lion are from one of the La-La Land Club kits.  The clouds were made with a stencil and some Distress inks.  Adding the sequins in the sky for touches of sparkle.  The igloo is spectacular with it's glittery shield.  I chose some bold colors for SS Anya and subtle tones for the sea lion.  One of the cutest cards I've done so far.  Thanks Linda for the sweet design!

Hope you're all having a nice week.  Thanks so much for dropping by!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 15

Hello!

It's day 15 of the 25 days of Christmas Challenge with Linda & Kathy.  For today I'm going to share this awesome Christmas tree card featuring Elf Luka.  It was designed by Debbie Pamment from La-La Land Crafts (DT) for the La-La Land Palooza craft retreat as one of the make & takes!  It is one of the coolest cards I've seen or made.

Here's one side of the card featuring a few dies and Elf Luka.  I have't decided who's name to put on the list, who you?  hahaha!   I had fun coloring him up.  Here's another panel...

This side shows off more of the LLLC dies and another detail of the card.  I really love the deer, it
very majestic.  Here is the 3rd panel of the tree card...

Ta-da!  Here is the last part of this amazing card.    I hope you enjoyed this share today.  I think this is one of my favorite projects from the retreat.   Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 12

Hello!

It's day 12 of my 25 days of Christmas challenge with Linda & Kathy and I've got another project to share from the La-La Land Palooza craft retreat.  This one showcases some of the cool dies available from La-La Land Crafts.

This card is very pretty IRL.  I love the colors that were chosen, the only issue I had with this was the ribbon.  It should not have been that difficult.  (hahaha!)  I think if I did this one again I'd do something different with the ribbon.  Here's a close-up of the card and yes I found some scrap plastic to insert as "glass" for the window.  I wish I had snow to make a shaker.  Again, maybe next time.

La-La Land Craft products used:  Pretty PoinsettiaChristmas Hill borderPhoto elementswinter branches, sentiment is from the club kit.

Well this one is going to be short and sweet today.  Got lots to do and need to get to it.  Thanks so much for stopping by and for the thoughtful messages.  I'm going to start going around to visit some blogs soon and will be blowing up your emails when I do!  hahaha!  I do really appreciate the comments and apologize that I haven't reciprocated yet.  Have a wonderful Saturday!!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 11 Lilo's Fun Friday #97

Alooohaaa everybody!

Happy TGIF!!  So happy it's Aloha Friday today!  It's also day 11 of my 25 days of Christmas Challenge with Linda & Kathy.  They are so cute, they are holding their own with this challenge and I am loving each reveal!  They make me laugh when they say it's so hard, but yet the projects they post are awesome!!  No sympathy from me, besides this was Linda's idea!  I just took up the challenge, but so very grateful I have.  (hahaha!)

It's been a while since I posted a Lilo's Fun Friday, so that's what today's share will be.  Here is LFF #97 and it's perfect for an Aloha Friday share...

This is a 5x5 card with some products from some of my favorite companies.  Front and center are the kiddos from Sister Stamps, Pua and Kaleo.  Colored them up with my current favorite Christmas colors, green, red and black.  Coloring Pua's muumuu was so tricky, hopefully you can see that there is a subtle red & green floral pattern on her dress.  I was going for the twinsies look, but couldn't move the colors after putting down the dark gray.  I still like how it turned out and will practice doing this again.  Kaleo was definitely easier to color.  The patterned washi paper is from Hanko Designs as are the black & green Tsumugi cardstock.  For the snowflakes I used a La-La Land die from the December club kit.  The sentiment is a laser die cut word from Island Scrapbooking.  I love the script writing and it was perfect for this card.  The final touches include two ruby gems and some white dots made with my white gel pen.   Oh you can see more details of Pua's dress in the picture below...

Pua & Kaleo - Sister Stamps, LLC.

I had a lot of fun putting this one together, especially combining these colors and patterns.  So much fun!  I'll be back for day 12 of the #25DOCC tomorrow.  Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a terrific Aloha Friday and an awesome weekend!!

xoxo,
Lilo

PS -  This is the last week to submit your Christmas projects to the Aloha Friday challenge HERE.  Remember this is the LAST challenge of 2015, you don't want to miss out.

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 9

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!

For day 8 oops, I meant 9, of my 25 days of Christmas challenge I wanted to share this sweet Christmas card from the La-La Land Palooza retreat designed by DT gal Debbie Pamment.  (Hi Debbie!!)  This was one of the many make & take projects from the retreat.

This card features the sweet Chickadee Marci and several dies from La-La Land Crafts.  Most of the card was put together at the retreat and the rest I finished when I got home.  Above is the card folded, and here it is unfolded...

I believe this is what you would call a Z-fold card and if you look to the other side you'll see more beautiful dies from La-La Land Crafts.  Here's a list of all the La-La Land Crafts products used on this card: Chickadee Marci, lattice bracket, lattice corner, small snowflakes, snowflake border, stitched elements (oval), winter branches, Celebrate sentiment is a Club die.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I'll be back again tomorrow for another Christmas share.  Have a terrific Tuesday!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 7 KBD Spotlight

Season's Greetings friends!

Today is day 7 in my 25 Days of Christmas challenge.  I'm spotlighting this card over on the Kitty Bee Designs blog today.  That must mean it's the first Monday of DECEMBER!!!  Can you believe there's only 18 days until Christmas!!  Woo Hoo!!  Hopefully you've already gotten your shopping started or making those lists for who's been naughty or nice this year.  If you're like me you start early and buy things throughout the year.  The problem is finding the hiding places I put them in!  hahaha!
I'm spotlighting 2 of our cute Christmas Penguins: Reindeer Christmas Penguin & Hollie Christmas Penguin.  I printed them out lighter than usual and colored them with some light colors.  Hopefully you can see them, it was a bit hard to photograph and edit without washing either of them out.  I took a close up so you can see them below.  You can't tell but I added WOS to the star, nose, holly leaves and bell.  It truly looks pretty IRL.  I promise!  (hahaha)

(We have a nice selection of Winter & Christmas images in the Etsy store to use on all of your Christmas cards and projects.  Hop on over to starting buying!)

I used non-traditional Christmas colors for this card, but I'm finding that doesn't really fit anymore.  With the Frozen movie it seems these are considered Christmas colors too.  Or at least Winter colors. The igloo is from the November  La-La Land Club kit.  Yep after die cutting it I glued on each of the tiles back!  In case you were wondering I added a piece of cardstock to the back to making gluing easier.  The stitched borders are from MFT, the snowflakes are from C. C. Designs and the rolling hills were created with Mama Elephant stitched dies.  I added WOS on the snowflakes and added a touch of lavender rhinestones for a nice little bling.  I handwrote, "Happy Holidays From our Igloo to yours."  I thought it was a cute sentiment for this card.

Thank you all so much for joining our challenges for 2015 and we hope you'll anticipate the challenges coming in 2016, you'll have even more fun!  Wishing you Happy Holidays and hope you and your families enjoy this wonderful season of giving and joy.  Today is my last spotlight for 2015!  The kitties & bees are taking the rest of the year off to spend time with our ohana and of course to finish finding (and making) the perfect gifts for everyone.  But of course I'll be back tomorrow with day 8 of my 25DOCC.

Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 6

Hello!!

Hope you are all doing well this fine Sunday morning.

You know as I'm posting these projects I feel like I am really enjoying the days.  Normally they go so fast I can't remember what I did, but for some reason I'm actually enjoying it.  Go figure...

For day 6 I thought I'd share another card from the La-La Land Palooza craft retreat.  This project was designed by DT member, Suzanne Kohler, (Hi Suzanne!).  It was one of the first cards I finished when I got home.

At the retreat we all found out that Suzanne is the queen of dies!  Her projects usually tend to have more than 4.  As you can see here that is definitely true.  Isn't it fabulous?!  Especially with the adorable Christmas Elf Luka holding center court?  I'll share all the links to the dies and image at the bottom.  I believe this is called a pocket card.  The inside panel is next...

And look even more dies on the inside!  They do make a marvelous scene don't they?

List of the products used in this project include:

Now I need to figure out who to put on the naughty and nice sides. hahaha!  Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed Sunday!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 3

Hello!!

At the beginning of November I had the opportunity to go the La-La Land Craft Retreat in Pacifica, CA.  It was a beautiful weekend of crafts and more crafts, food and more crafts, and making a lot of new friends.  Oh and did I mention the crafts?  hahaha!  Yes it was truly a marathon weekend of crafts, and we came away with so many goodies and projects, techniques and laughs.  It was a wonderful weekend.  During the retreat we had several projects related to winter and Christmas so those will be incorporated in to my 25 Days  of Christmas Challenge.

Today I wanted to share this cute card with a box that was designed by the very talented and sweet Tamara from the La-La Land DT.  (Hi Tamara!)  I tweaked it a little bit and made it my own, but the main concept was all Tamara.

She created this wonderful winter wonderful land with some of the beautiful dies from La-La Land Crafts.  I added the reindeer because my mountains were a little bare.  Adding the reindeer makes the snowman look no so lonely.  (hehehe)  Below is the inside of the card using another amazing die from LLLC.

Below is a snapshot of the card and box on it's side.  This was a really fun and easy project to make.  Thank you Tamara for creating this fun project!  I'll probably stick some candy inside the box and gift it to someone at work.  I could possibly fit a gift card in there somewhere.

Here are the dies that were used for this project:

I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas share.  Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 2

Hello!

Before I start I just wanted to say that I am so happy Fixer Upper is finally back!!  Woo Hoo!  They did not disappoint on the first episode either.  Looking forward to more antics from Chip and more gorgeous reveals designed by Joanna.

For day 2 I thought I would share the cards from my November Secret Sister Swap.  We were asked to make 4 cards (either the same or different) that would be sent to four swap sisters and in return we would receive 4 different cards from everyone who participated.  This helps add to our stash and also spread some Christmas joy.  I will share my card(s) first then the ones from my swap partners.  For my four cards I used a lot of dies and layers of papers.  I also added some charcoal gray and black, I'm really liking how they accent everything.

I used MFT & La-La Land dies, some patterned paper, gems, a doily, charcoal gray colored felt and Petaloo flowers.  I created two of the same concept interchanging the reds and greens.  Here are the four cards together before I sent them off to their new homes...

Here are the four sweet Christmas cards I got in return.  Starting off with this adorably sweet card from Cyndi Kim...

From Cyndi Kim

Love this adorable image and the pretty snowflake paper.  Next up is this super sweet card from Annie!

From Annie

How sweet is that gingerbread man?  And the fun snowflake stamped and embossed background? This next one is from the very super talented queen of scenes, Karen from Have a Scrap Happy Day!  Hi Karen!!

From Karen!  Hi Karen!!

Love it!  This is the absolutely adorable!  And this last gorgeous card is either from Jayne or Mare Benne:

The sparkle on Santa is sooo cool, it's really stunning IRL.  Aren't they all wonderful?  And they are definitely going in my Christmas card stash to send to some special family and friends.  I really loved this swap idea.  Thanks Kathy!!

Thanks for stopping by for day 2!  I'll be back to share another completed craft project tomorrow.  Happy Hump day!

Hugs,
Leanne
