LFF #93 - Last days of August

Hello!!

Long time no see!  I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post!!  I must have been super busy.  As a matter of fact I was.  Mostly busy at work and being too tired to work on anything.  But for today I do have something to share.  It's a calendar!  I've only got a few more left to use up thanks to some friends who visited me last weekend.  They were able to use up 12 of the calendars!! Woo hoo!  So I only have a few left.  So for today's Lilo's Fun Friday #93...

The image is Miyoko from Sister Stamps, I colored her up to match the colors in the washi paper.  The outline of the sakura flowers are from a die cut.  All of these products can be purchased at Hanko Designs.  I matted the washi paper on to gold cardstock and then on to a black card.  Love how it turned out, even the boo-boo I did with her hair.

Can't believe how fast the time has flown by for August!  In just a few short days it'll be October!  But first let's enjoy September.  Have a fantastik Friday and a great weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #54 - School

Hello!

Today starts a brand new challenge at The Aloha Friday challenge blog with Kitty Bee Designs.  We have a super easy theme and if you're not playing why not?!  Here are the details:

School
Create a project with a school theme
Sponsor: Bugaboo Stamps
8/14/15 - 8/28/15

Hop on over to the blog and check out the details of the challenge and then stop over at each of the DT's blogs and leave them some love.

My card took some time to come up with.  I knew I wanted to use Spelling Bee and that's about it.  hahaha!  I decided to go with a bee theme with black and yellow.  Also thought it would be fun to make my own background paper to look like a chalkboard.  (Secret: it's just black cardstock with a white pen.)  I hand wrote all the words and had fun trying to come up with any related to school.  The alpha letters are from an MFT die and the nerdy glasses are from CC Designs cutters.  The banner is from Lawn Fawn and the stars were also from an MFT blueprints set.  I colored Spelling Bee with Copics as well as the word, "Spelling."

Looking forward to seeing your school related project(s) and if you're looking for an image stop by the Kitty Bee Designs shop where you can find some adorable images to choose from.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a fabulous weekend!!

TBT - Hugs from Amelia

Morning!

Hope you are all doing well.  Thank you all so much for the inspiring comments.  I greatly appreciate them.  For today's throwback Thursday post I made a card using another Amelia image that I colored up a week ago.

If you're not familiar with this Amelia you must be a newbie to the Greeting Farm.  (hahaha)  She was one of the very first Amelia's from the OA sets, OA Buddies to be exact.  Now I know why I haven't colored her up in so long, there are too many details!!  hahaha!  Anyways, it was fun to color and fun cut her out.  Going with the colors of brown, light blue & yellow and a pop of red was the only way to go here.  The papers are all older, the only parts that aren't are the die cuts.  The "hugs" sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, the swooshes are from the MFT Ride the Wave die, so happy I finally have this one!  The stars are also from MFT Blueprints #13.

OA Buddies Amelia

Thanks for stopping in today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a new Aloha Friday challenge card.  Have a terrific TBT!!

A day at the beach

Hello!!

Today I've actually got a card to share!  hahaha!  I made this long card awhile ago but I just recently got it back and now I'd like to share it with you all.  I hope it makes you smile and think of fun times at the beach building sandcastles with your brother(s) and sister(s)...

The night before the last Carson RS show I received the new summer keiki stamps from Sister Stamps newest release, thanks for the fast service Norm!.  I was beyond excited to get them.  So much so that I stayed up into the wee hours of the night to make this card.  It features 4 of the 7 stamps that depicts a fun time at the beach. I was inspired by Jenny's card here.  From left to right: Halia, Kaumaka, Sandcastle & Aulii.  I decided to do a panel of Polaroid pictures with each image having their own spotlight but looking like they are right next to each other.  All colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from an older TGF stamp set that is retired.  I also added the wooden starfish and sand dollar.  They add a nice touch to the beach scene I was trying to create.  They also help cover up mistakes!  hahaha!  Here are some close ups of each picture.  First up is the adorable Halia.

Halia - Sister Stamps

Isn't she sweet?  I love the wooden starfish, it adds that something special without being overwhelming.  Next up is Kaumaka and the Sandcastle.

Kaumaka - Sister Stamps

This makes me smile, because all you see is joy on Kaumaka's face as he's building his sandcastle.  I masked Kaumaka and using my Misti I stamped the sandcastle in the spot just slightly behind him. Again adding the wooden sand dollar was just a fun touch and it's also covering a boo-boo.  On the last panel is the sweet Aulii..

Aulii - Sister Stamps

Here's another angle of the sand dollar.  Love it!  I kept the coloring the same for all the kids, sand and sky.  The orange and white Aloha print is leftover from a project, so don't know the brand name.  The base of the card is a length wise piece of white cardstock.  I think I have one more project to share from this release and it's another postcard featuring Hiilei.  I'll save that one for next time.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Fairy Queen Anya mini calendar

Good morning!

Hope you all had a nice weekend.  Today I have another calendar card to share featuring a new (to me) TGF stamp, Fairy Queen Anya and new washi paper from Hanko Designs.

I love this Anya!  She's so sweet and I love her hair!  I had to do green with hints of yellows in the mix.  The rest of her was colored up pretty quick, fun-cut and then glued down flat for easy travel.  The sentiment is from AmyR for CC Designs.  Here's a not so pretty shot of all the glitter from my WOS clear brush pen.

IRL, this is pretty!  I'm slowing transforming these calendars and sending them off to family and friends.  This one already found a home with one of my friends.  Only 20 more calendars to go, I think I can do this!  hahaha!!

Fairy Queen Anya (TGF)
Well, it's going to be a busy week so I better sign off and get to it.  Wishing you all a happy Monday!  Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing what I've been up to.  Take care!

Aloha Friday Challenge #53 Mid-Inspiration

Hello!!

Today I'm jumping in with the Kitties over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog with Kitty Bee Designs for a mid-inspiration share.  The current challenge is a fun one; hope you've already posted your projects, if not you still have until next Friday to do so.  Here are the challenge details:

Create a project featuring an ocean or water animal
SPONSOR: 2 CUTE INK
7/31/15 - 8/14/15

For more details on the prize click on over HERE.  While you're there check out all the fun projects the Kitties designed.  Here's my card for the challenge:

Both sentiments are from an older summer AmyR by CC Designs stamp set.  I stamped one on some vellum and the other straight on to the card.  They are both heat embossed.  The stencil for the background is from Hero Arts and I picked 3 colors of Distress Ink as my color palette.  That wooden laser cut sand dollar was part of a haul I picked up at the Carson RSC at the From Cover 2 Cover booth.  They had a ton of other cool wooden accents that I picked up, wish I had gone here first to pick up some others.  But I'm glad I found these.  They are really cool.  Here's the rest of the card:

A sweet underwater scene featuring Stingray Kids.  This image is from 2 Cute Ink and I purchased it a few months ago, maybe longer?  I thought it was adorable when I first saw it.  I actually colored around the same time I bought it.  It's been sitting in my colored pile waiting for a home.  I think this is a fun display of that.  Now that I look at this I wish I had flipped the orange to the bottom and the blue to the top.  Oh well, you learn and then try it differently next time.

Stingray Kids (2 Cute Ink)

Here's a close up of the inside.  What you probably can't see is all the glitter inside, yes there is a piece of acetate, I poured in a little silk microfine glitter from Elizabeth Crafts.  Whoever receives this card will get to see all the sparkle.  Well thanks for letting me ramble on about what should have been a simple project.  hahaha!  Don't forget you have until next Friday to link up with us.  Don't forget!!  Mahalo for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!!

TBT - Amelia the Little Dreamer calendar

Hello!

I'm back with another calendar and throwback OA image.  This is Amelia from the OA Little Dreamer stamp set from the Greeting Farm.  Here is today's Throwback Thursday...

I used products from Hanko Designs which include the card bases, mattes and that beautiful washi paper.  The embossed sentiment is from an older AmyR stamp set.  Going with the same CAS design made this quick & easy to put together.  Yay!

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great Thursday!!

Doraemon Thank you card

Hello!

I'm taking a break from sharing calendars to share a card which has a bit of Copic coloring, but it's mostly a bunch of dies to re-create this picture.

Here is my card version which I made for one of my co-workers who is leaving us at the end of the week...  It's a sad Doraemon (the blue cat)!
  1. Doraemon (ドラえもん) is a Japanese manga and anime series. It was written by Fujiko F. Fujio. It was started in a children's magazine in 1969. Doraemon is the name of a robot cat that came from the future to help a boy named Nobita Nobi.

I used my Martha Stewart circle tool to create the head and the white part of his face.  The rest were a few MFT dies and I also used my straight edge trimmer for the whiskers  In the picture it shows Doraemon crying so using BG70 and some glossy accents I made him cry!  hahaha!  The rest came together pretty quickly.  I used the thank you sentiment die from Heidi Swapp, but I wish I had something else like will miss you.  Well the thank you seemed to work.  For the inside I went with some cute Pandas.

These are the pandas from Kitty Bee Designs.  I did printed a bunch of them in different sizes and flipped the top ones so they would be waving with their left hands.  For this panel I used BG32 to write Many thanks inside all the pandas tummies.  It was matted with red cardstock.

Here is a coloring page I found on the internet.  I colored him up, fun-cut him out and glued him to the back of the card.  I'm planning to give this to her today from the team.  I'm thinking she's going to be very surprised, she has no clue this is coming.  Yay!!  Well I think I'll stop here and wish you all a very happy day.  Take care and thanks for stopping by!

August Spotlight at Kitty Bee Designs

Hello!

**Quick shoutout to my younger brother... Happy Birthday dude!!

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is the first Monday of the month and that means I am spotlighting this postcard over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog.

Yes it's another postcard featuring two cute starfish from Kitty Bee Designs.  They are called, Starfish Buddies.  Because Southern Cal is experiencing some beautiful weather I thought it was a no brainer to share this postcard today.  It's bright and fun and the starfish are so cute!!   I used the same Hero Arts stencil, bright colored Distress Inks (twisted citron, cracked pistachio & salty ocean), 2 AmyR sentiments that were embossed and I handwrote the quoted sentiments with a Copic multiliner pen.  The starfish were colored with Copics, fun-cut and glued down flat for easy shipping.  This totally makes me smile and I hope it does the same for you.

This post just happens to coincide with our new/current challenge, Ocean/Water animals.  If you're stuck on an image the etsy store has plenty to choose from.  And if you use one of our images for your project you'll get an extra entry in the drawing.  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday David!

Hello!!

This will be a quick post, I'll be back in a few hours with my Spotlight post for Kitty Bee Designs.  I wanted to share this card I made for my brother who is celebrating his birthday today.  It's another shoe birthday card, yes he loves shoes!

I decided to keep it simple, and finally break open this awesome stamp and die set from MFT.  This die set is called Dienamics LLD All-Star high tops and it is so darn cool!  It makes the coolest All-Star sneaker!!  I had to watch the video to put this together, but it was worth it.  Sorry about the photo, I had to take the picture in another room where the light source is not so great.  The colors are way off too.  What looks like black is actually dark midnight blue.  The colors are for his love of  the University of Michigan.  The sentiment is from the companion stamp set LLD Be Original the set also includes the circular stamp inside the circle.  The rays are a Tim Holtz stencil and I used some Distress inks to ink it up.  Here is the inside of the card...

Again this is supposed to be midnight blue not black with golden yellow and white.  The sentiment is part handwritten and Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment.  We celebrated yesterday with Thai Bar B Q, it's what the birthday boy wanted to eat, a red velvet cake and scoops of Neapolitan ice cream.  Good times with good food and wonderful people, just missing my sister & her family.

Well time to sign off, gotta get up in a few hours to get to work.  Sigh.. hahaha!  Thanks for stopping by and if you come by later I'll have my spotlight post from Kitty Bee Designs up.  Night!

A Lovey Dovey Amelia calendar

Good morning!

Happy 2nd day of August!

I've decided to do 6 more calendars using the rest of the Amelia's from the Greeting Farms OA stamps sets!  Yep, might as well. (gulp! hahaha!)  I think this one is my favorite so far.  The sweet Amelia from the OA Lovey Dovey set fit right in with this origami paper that I've had in my stash for ages...

I know, I know it's August, but I took this picture on July 30th.  Isn't she sweet?  And I love that origami paper.  The colors are beautiful and the shapes are fun.  She fits right in.  Colored her with Copics and her hair was colored with the V90 series.  Love that shade.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and was stamped and clear embossed.

Amelia - OA - Lovey Dovey

Thanks again for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!  I will be back tomorrow for a fun Spotlight post with Kitty Bee Designs.  Until then take care!!
