Red, White & Blue Day Out

Hello!

It's been a while since I participated in a challenge, so I hopped on over to the TGF blog to see what the current monthly challenge is, red, white and blue.  Oh that is an easy peasy one.  I was flipping through some stamps to see which one I wanted to use when I realized that I had not inked up this Anya from TGF.  This sweet Anya is called Day Out.  I saved on time and paper pieced her beret and skirt.  The other parts were colored with Copics.  I chose a simple design with a few pieces of cardstock liking how much white was left.  The half circle is a die cut from Little Darlings and the sentiments are laser cut words from Island Scrapbooking.  The cool thing about the words is being able to cut the words or letters and as long as you trim them you can make a fun sentiment like I did.  Now I have another birthday card to add to my ever growing stash, woo hoo!

Surprise!

Hello again, yes again, this is my second post for today.  Please scroll down to see my previous post.  Thank you!

Today, the Lollipop Crafts DT is wishing a very special birthday to captain of the A-Team, Alanna
Happy Birthday Alanna.  Hoping today is fun and fabulous for you!! :)

Please visit the Lollipop Crafts blog for the birthday wishes being sent to Alanna and also stop by her blog and leave her some birthday love.  Although this is not a birthday card it does have a bright celebration feel to it.  I used bright colors primary colors and the card itself was something that I made when I first started making cards some few odd years ago.  It was super easy to pick an image, color it, cut it out and plop it on top of the card.  Love when that happens.  hehehe.

Who better to be plopped down on to this bright fun card than WS Summer from the Roll Call kit by The Greeting Farm?  I colored her with Copics, using similar colors to match the background.  I love her expression.  The stamps used on the background paper are from Stampin' Up, so I guess you can say I made my own pp.  I hand wrote the sentiment and added some fun dots to break up the white space.

Well thanks so much for stopping by again.  And don't forget to stop by Alanna's blog to wish her a Happy Birthday.  And you still have time to enter this week's Anything Goes challenge, we already have 173 links!!  Woo hoo, knew you all would love this challenge.  If you're still working on your card here is where you can link up your card.  No sponsor this week, but you have a chance to be chosen in our top 3, plus you get to submit more than one card.

Mahalo for stopping by again!  Enjoy your day!!

Once Upon a Time...

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you all had a good week and a fantastic start to June which means the beginning of summer.  It's been wonderful weather here in California and I hope it continues.

If you haven't been by the TGF blog you will definitely want to check it out today.  They are having a TGF Royal Challenge for the next four weeks.  In honor of this ROYAL Challenge, this week's challenge will be a little different at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog...  We are so excited to be playing along with our sistah Farmers for the Wednesday Royal Challenge.  The first week's challenge theme is "Fairy Tale Fun".  All the details are on the TGF blog and we are so excited to see what everyone comes up with.
For some royal inspirations please visit the TGF blog (HERE) as well as the Farm Fresh Challenge blog (HERE).

There was a handsome Prince...

I know there are going to be a flood of pretty Princesses for this first challenge so in honor of the males I created this fun card using the cute Prince Ian, that was released in digi form last summer.  Sorry friends, looks like he was only available for a short time as I couldn't find him in the store.  Hopefully you were able to grab him back then as he is so adorable and a perfect companion to all the Princesses in TGF land.  He's so lucky, he's got his pick of those adorable Princesses. And he's such a good catch.  (hehehe)  My handsome Prince Ian is showing off his castle and I have him in his royal blues..  I had the perfect pp to make this card complete.  I picked another fabulous background paper from the DCWV Once Upon a Time stack.  How perfect is that castle behind Prince Ian?  I could have paired him up with any of the cool backgrounds, but for this card I think the castle in the background worked just fine.  The sentiments are from different pages in the stack, including the "Once upon A time" at the bottom of the card.  With these papers I didn't have to do too much, yay!

The "crowning" touch would be the crown a top Prince Ian's head.  I found the crown online and had to tweak it a bit.  The back part of the crown actually are the sides to the crown. I folded them back to make the crown a bit more 3-D.  The gems on the front are colored blue and "stickled."  Here is a close up:

I just love him!!  What Princess could turn him down right?! (hahaha)
Alrighty, now are you ready for the Royal decree challenge?  Below are the details for this week's TGF Royalty challenge, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

Case'ing - Kim Yu!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  I hope you've had a great weekend and are taking a moment today to remember the men and women who sacrificed for us and others.  We owe it to them to remember & salute them.

"Look for life's greatest TREASURES in life's most SIMPLE pleasures" ~ Anonymous

Today at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog, DT Sparkle chose to case a really cute card by the fabulous Kim Yu!!  If you haven't visited Kim's blog you should.  She has the most creative layouts and projects.  She's also a huge TGF fan.  I'm so happy to be case'ing her card and I hope I do it justice.  Here is her fabulous card using Flirty Anya

Isn't this card cute?!!  She did such a fabulous job with the layout and coloring.  And her bow!! Gorgeous!
Click here to see how the DT case'd Kim's card. For my card I actually case'd it except I did not pull out the sewing machine to stitch.  I created fake stitches which look just as real, well at least to me they do.  Everything else is pretty much as close to Kim's card as possible.  I also chose a pink and blue (turquoise) color scheme...
If you couldn't tell, I switched bodies and heads with Fancy Anya & WS Dee Dee.  This was a fun combination for me.  I knew I wanted something fun and flirty to match Kim's card, but I wanted to use an image that I hadn't inked up in quite some time.  Dee Dee is colored with Copics and the band on her dress is paper pieced using the same polka dot pp behind her.  Speaking of patterned papers, the papers on this card are from MME, Fine & Dandy Tickled Pink paper pad.  I thought this paper was very flirty and fun for my card.  The turquoise card stock is from Hanko Designs.  The black cs is from Recollections and the stitches were created using a black Copic Multi-liner pen.  The ribbon is from Celebrate It, a holiday collection that I purchased during Christmas at Michael's.  Lastly, the sentiment is actually an epoxy sticker from Cloud 9 Designs.
Alrighty, I hope you are inspired to join in the fun this time around.  Remember there are two ways to play.  You can either case the card like I've done or you can use it as inspiration for your card or project.  Make sure to upload your card to the TGF gallery by Sunday, @ noon CST for a chance to win a single image of your choice.  The winner will be chosen at random.  Upload your card to the Galleria>Farm Fresh Challenges 2011>Monday Case Mania> Kim Yu.

Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here soon. :)
Hugs,
Lilo

4th of July in May

Happy Friday Everyone!
If you're still having issues with commenting on certain blogs, it might be the browser you are using.  I had been using Internet Explorer, but recently found out from Kim Yu and a few other blogging buds that Firefox would probably be better and it's free!!  Once I switched over and cleared the cache and cookies I was able to comment on the blogs that  I couldn't before.  Click HERE for the link to figure out how to clear those items.  Hope this helps relieve some stress and frustrations!
Thanks Kim and to the blogging buddies for your help! :)
Now on to my Farm Fresh Friday Challenge inspiration:

Hahaha, no, it's not July 4th yet, but for today let's just pretend it is.  Why?  Because today over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are having a new and fun challenge, create a card or project of your favorite HOLIDAY!  Whether it's Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's or Halloween.  There are so many fun and favorite holidays to choose from.  To see what the ladies of the DT chose for their favorite holidays be sure to stop by the FFC blog or click HERE.  We would also love to know why you chose that particular holiday so make sure to leave us a little story when you post to the gallery.

I chose the 4th of July.  BBQs featuring hot dogs & burgers.  Fireworks of all kinds.  Friends and family getting together to celebrate Independence Day.  Why wouldn't it be fun?!  Here I have Twirl Anya in her Red, White & Blue outfit ready to celebrate the day.
I colored her up with Copics, and did the same with the pinwheel.  In the center of the pinwheel is a clear gem.  The background paper is from a very old paper pack from DCWV.  I think it might be a summer stack.  All the other patterned papers are from the same stack.  I used Jen Shults' Deconstructed sketch #2 for the layout.   The sentiment is from the Roll Call kit.

Here are the details for every FFF challenge:

  • The FFF challenge is open until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST. So you certainly have plenty of time to get started.
  • Use ANY TGF image
  • The winner will be chosen by Rachel or Jessica.
  • Winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice as well as a limited edition badge.
  • Please upload your challenge card/projects to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Favorite Holiday.
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a terrific weekend.  Mahalo for stopping by! ; )

Hugs,
Lilo
