Hey everyone!
Just popping in for a short post to share the card I made for my parents. Today is their anniversary and I thought I'd do something fun and possibly CAS. They both loved it and had a good laugh at how cute it was.
This pair is called sushi buddies from Kitty Bee Design. I picked this up along with a few other adorable images. I couldn't wait to use this one. It was perfect for my card. The sentiment is simple and to the point. Colored both with Copics and tried to capture the color of the nori using greens and neutral/warm grays. The one on the left is the brown rice sushi which my mom loves to eat while the other is plain white rice. I used a scalloped circle punch and cut it to act as a little tray. The whole thing was stamped/adhered to kraft cs (Recollections).
On a side note, my friend needed help with getting some kanji on to of all things, a rock! So after scanning, shrinking, cutting and then mod-podging, this is what we created...
Ta-da!! So if you are all wondering can you mod-podge on stone with grooves? The answer is yes. (lol) Not really sure if the kanji translated correctly since we traced it from a needlepoint project her grandmother had made, but she was happy and therefore I was happy. Needless to say I think Mod-podge has a new fan. She literally wanted to mod-podge more things! hahaha!
Alrighty my friends, have a good night and a good Thursday! Mahalo for stopping by. I"ll be back on Friday for my LFF share.
Hugs,
Leanne
