Lilo's Fun Friday #22

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!!
Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you've had a good week and are ready to do some relaxing this weekend. :)

For today's LFF #22, I thought I'd share one of the cards I made for our booth from the February stamp convention featuring one of the most popular images requested from Sister Stamps, Ayako

In January, my buddy Kathy made me this wonderful picture frame featuring 3 Sister Stamps images, Miyono, Ayako & Yoko.  I wanted to create something similar in a card with the Ayako frame but on to a card.  So out came my neglected Cricut machine and my rarely used Pagoda cartridge.  I purchased some beautiful washi paper from Hanko Designs the previous stamp convention and decided it would be the perfect backdrop for this card.  I used red cs for the bridge and matted it onto the same red cs, then on to white cs and the base of the card was dark brown cs.

I really love how she turned out and I want to thank Kathy again for the wonderful inspiration and beautiful frame she made me.  I want to eventually case the other two panels, but for today, Ayako get's the spotlight.

I know I haven't posted pictures from the convention or talked about it so look for it in the coming week.   Hope you all have a wonderful Aloha Friday and you get to do something fun or relaxing this weekend.  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Sorry friends, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the Copics I used.  If I remember, which I doubt, I'll try to add them here.  Sorry!!

Let's party with Wryn & Emmy

Hey everyone!
Popping in to share a card I just finished.  I couldn't wait to share it.  I'm planning something else for tomorrow.  :)

If you haven't been by the Tiddly Inks challenge blog today, you might not know that it's Christy's birthday and the DT is having a pretty awesome birthday party for her.  With lots of fun trivia and lots of beautiful birthday cards for her.  Be sure to head on over there and play along, looks like the celebration is going to be going all weekend long.  Pretty cool!

They are also having a birthday bash challenge which is to create a birthday/celebration themed card.  It's been a while since I played in a challenge and since I already had a printed image I decided to play along.

I colored up the BFFs, Wryn and Emmy in some party colors.  I had fun coloring Wryn with red hair and freckles.  A first for me, because I don't really know anyone that is a redhead and has freckles.  (hahaha)  But I wanted to try something new, and that's what this lovely craft is all about right?  Trying new things...  I also went very CAS using paper from The Simple Stories Happy day paper pad as an accent (Thanks Amy for inspiring me!!) and using up some of the printed words from the same paper pad.  The ribbon is one of my favorites and "tied" in wonderfully to create a fun looking wrapped gift.

Okie dokie, gonna "wrap" it up and get outta here.  Hope you all are having a great week, tomorrow's another Aloha Friday and I hope you'll stop by to see what Lilo has up her sleeve to share!  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a good one!

Hugs,
Leanne

Flutterby Wednesday #196

Good morning everyone!

Apologies for the lateness of my post!

This week's Flutterby Wednesday challenge has us teaming up with a wonderful non-profit organization, Butterfly Kisses, for another card drive for some well deserving kids and their families.  The challenge this week is to create a Get Well/Thinking of You/Keep Fighting card using your butterfly, fairy or angel.  Our teammate, Nancy, is heading up this challenge and she shared a little bit about the organization, Butterfly Kisses on the FBW blog.  We hope you consider sending in your card(s) to the organization as it would surely brighten any of the wonderful kid's day.

Be sure to visit the rest of the Flutterby Team for lots of inspiration~

I created the following CAS "polaroid" style card.  I haven't done one before so it was really fun to let the image and the scene dictate the card.  Hope you like it.

This is a Precious Moment image and I found it amongst my stash of uncolored images.  I believe I found it on the internet and couldn't believe I hadn't colored it before.  It was a perfect fit for this week's challenge.  After coloring it up and adding the grass and cloud cover I flipped through some sentiments and the AmyR sentiment was a great fit!  I hand wrote the first part of the sentiment and stamped the sunshine part.  On the inside I stamped "you make me happy" from the same stamp set.  Hoping this brings a little sunshine and smile to the recipient's day.

Hope you consider creating a card for this wonderful card drive and that you decide to send it in to Butterfly Kisses.  Again, check out the FBW blog for all the details and don't forget to include your butterfly, fairy or angel on your card.  Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a lovely Wednesday!!

Hugs,
Leanne

(Sorry, but I forgot to take pictures of the Copics!  If I remember what they were I will make sure to update here.)

Awards!!

Hi Everyone!!
FYI, I have a pretty long one this evening.  But I really had to share, it's way past time!

I received two lovely blog awards from three fabulous blogging buddies: Shirl, Karen & Rachel.  Two different awards, that mean the world to me because I was chosen to receive.  Thanks ladies!!

First one is from Shirl of Creations by Shirl & Karen of Have a Scrap Happy Day for this pretty cool award:

Here are the rules and guidelines for this award:
  • Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
  • Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy if you can figure out how to do it.
  • Next, select up to 16 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  • Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you should include a link to their site for others to see how versatile they really are.
  • Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself."
Shirl is definitely one of my blogging buddies that I look forward to visiting everyday, or when I can.  She always has new images on her creations and she shares new sites that I would never know about.  She's also always one of the first to comment when I post something.  She leaves lots of lovely comments and is super sweet.  I hope when I finally get back to the Big Island I get to meet her. It really touches my heart that Shirl would give me another wonderful award. I guess I must be doing something right, yea?  Mahalo Shirl for this lovely award.  You are a sweetheart!  If you havent visited or not a follower of Shirl's you definitely should think about checking her blog out.
Karen, was actually on my list because I received this one from Shirl first.  But since I've been behind in posting she sent me this award before I could send it to her! hahaha!!  She's such a wonderful blogging friend, always has lovely things to say and boy does she have a fabulous blog with lots of lovely inspirations.  I've so loved all of our swaps.  She is definitely on my to meet list once I get to the Big Island.  Ho, it would be so fun to meet all of you.  Better save some money so I can pay for my flight!  Thank you again Karen, and if you haven't visited Karen's blog you must do so today!

Okay- Now Shirl picked quite a few that were on my list, so going off of hers and I am also piggy-backing off of Karen's too.  I hope these ladies know that they too are on my list of versatile bloggers.  I'd like to hand it out to 16 others who aren't on their lists. These 16 versatile bloggers are ladies that I have followed from before I started my blog and some who I just recently started following and who I find inspiration from daily.   I appreciate tons of other creative ladies and although I could pick TONS more I'm only limited to 16, but if you are wondering just look at my side bars to see who I admire.  So yah technically I've got 48. Lollipop Crafts # 73

      Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend!  My weekend was full of crafting all day and into the early morning on Saturday, then attending the Pink Parlour as a vendor this year with the awesome team of Renate' Winter and Jenny Chen.  It was a really cool event.  I didn't get a chance to take a lot of pictures, but I will see if the others did or not.  All in all, even with the bad weather, the turn out was pretty cool and our makes were well received.  Now that this show is behind us, I will have more time to catch up and visit.

This week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts is anything goes.  So this should be an easy one for everyone right?  Please head on over to the LC blog to see both teams shares.  You'll be glad you did.  My share is a birthday card I made for my friend, Flor.  Every year since we've been working together I seemed to always make a card that was pink & brown.  There is definitely nothing wrong with that color combo, but I wanted this year to be different.  So my color scheme went in a totally different direction and I am so happy she liked it.   I used Cocktail Emily, a Sparkle Creation rubber stamp.  She was perfect for  my card.

I love this color combo!!  She really liked it as well.  Definitely will have to keep this in my "like" color combo list.  Alrighty, time to get outta here.  Hope you can join us this week for some fun at Lollipop Crafts.

      Lilo's Fun Friday #21 - Howdy Pardner!

      Hey everyone!
Hope you're all having a good day.  I guess like the rest of the world everyone is experiencing some weird weather.  For the past few days it's been nice and sunny here in California.  Definitely spring weather and then today I leave the house and it's overcast and gloomy.  What gives?  I hope by the time I leave the office the sun will be shining.  Hope the weather is fabulous in your neck of the woods.

One of my many co-workers is expecting her first child and we had a nice small luncheon/baby shower for her here at the office.  I made this card using a stamp I bought a few years ago from a company called Stamp Oasis.  The image is called Little Cowboy and he's one of a collection called Little Lovin's.  These images are so adorable and I had to limit myself on how many I would get, I actually wanted them all.  Here's a link to the site with all the Little Lovin's.  This would be the second card she's gotten from me because I had already given her and her husband a card for her other baby shower two weeks ago.  My reasoning?  I didn't want to be the only one who didn't give her something so I made a pretty easy circle card and gave them some diapers.  Little did I know she loves cowboys so she was really touched by the card.

Isn't he a cutie pie? The horse too?  I can't believe it's taken me this long to ink him up and give him a home!  I'm so bad!  Well better late than never.  I used a scalloped lacey and regular circle spellbinder die for this card.  Distressed the inside with two kinds of distress inks and colored with Copics.  I added a bit of doodling around the edge of the circle and a handwritten sentiment.  Pretty easy peasy!

Well it's time for me to giddyup on outta here!  (lol)  Hope you all have a great weekend!  If you are in the Los Angeles area and don't have anything to do on Sunday stop by the Pink Parlour at the Santa Anita racetrack.  Here's the link for all the details.

**BTW, my friend Rachel is having a stamp sale.  Check out her blog for details.**

      Mahalo for stopping by!!

      FBW #195 - Open challenge!

      Hey everyone!

Thank you to everyone that played in last week's Create a card for a Child challenge with the Flutterby Wednesday team.  You all did a fabulous job and I hope we inspired you to send in your card to Send a Smile 4 Kids.  Thanks again!

Now are you ready to jump back in for another challenge this week?  I hope so cause it's everyone's favorite!  OPEN CHALLENGE!  Create a card using a butterfly, angel or fairy.

I was cleaning my craft space and under a pile of scrap papers I found my Ashe Emerald Fairie stamp that I recently purchased from All That Scraps.  What luck!  I was in need of a baby card and this turned out to be a pretty perfect image to work with.  Here is my completed card.  It's another CAS one for me.

Isn't this image adorable?! I've been eyeing him and a few of the others for quite some time and when there was a sale I grabbed him up.  So glad I did, I can see many more cards with this adorable little fairy.  What's cool is that I can just as easily go totally girly with the colors or neutral.  For this card it had to have boy colors.  This is my favorite boy color combo.  I colored in the grass with Copics as well as the mushroom.  The cap of the mushroom is paper-pieced, shaded in with Copics and sparkled with Stickles.  The sentiment is from AmyR's baby sentiments stamp set.

On Monday (last week) I had lunch with Kim Yu and Kathy.  If you don't know, Kim is pregnant (I confirmed) and having a boy.  I had her in mind for this card to say Congratulations and Welcome to her future little one.  We went to BJs and had a good time.  Here's a picture of us:

She's so tiny!!  It was great fun having lunch and we plan to do it again in the future, or as her pregnancy allows.  :)

Time for me to get outta here and time for you to get your creative juices flowing.  Create something, anything for our open challenge at Flutterby Wednesdays just make sure your butterfly, angel or fairy is noticeable.  What are your favorite baby color combos?  Let me know I always love trying new colors.

      Mahalo for stopping by!!

Lollipop Crafts #72 - Sentimentally Yours

      Morning!

Today is a start of another challenge at Lollipop Crafts.  Challenge # 72, Sentimentally Yours is all about making your sentiment the focal point of your card.  This week's sponsor is The Stamping Boutique, for more information on the prize this week head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog.  You'll also find some inspirations from the T-Team for this week's challenge.

My card took less than 15 minutes to create.  It took longer to pick the papers and sentiment, but once I had them all it came together pretty quickly.  And I am die-ing to show you my newest purchases.  (lol)

Here is it!  As you can see my versions of a CAS card (yep it's a card) showcasing my newest die by Lifestyle Crafts.  I purchased this set along with several other new products, including that beautiful washi paper, from Hanko Designs a couple weekends ago at the stamp convention.  These were all featured at CHA and I was so stoked to find these at the Hanko booth.  Don'tcha just love it?!  Well I do, and I am so looking forward to using them again.  The size of the base card is "5.5 x 5.8", which is the largest of the dies.  It's pretty huge and barely fit onto the "A" plate in my Cuttlebug.  The base of the card is Tsumugi Hiwa cardstock.  I added some distress ink in crushed olive to the inside giving it a nice framed feel.  The same distress color is used on the center flower.  The sentiment is one of my favorite AmyR sayings.  So happy it matched the card.  The flourish is part of a set from Sizzix.   The only thing I can add is that the sentiment is inked with Memento bamboo leaves by Tsukineko.

See the gold flowers in the washi paper?  O, I was sooo happy to find it amongst all the other pretty papers.  It has a beautiful spring like feel to it.  I will definitely be using this more, especially with Mother's day coming up soon.  It's also perfect for Spring cards.

Hope you all get a chance to play with us this week.  We'd love to see how sentimental you get.  Mahalo for stopping by in your busy life.  I appreciate it a lot!  Have a fabulous Monday!!

      Hugs,
      Leanne

      Happy St. Patrick's Day

Well I have a couple minutes before the day changes, so I better hurry it up!  hahaha!!

      Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!

I found this really cool lineart drawing from one of my favorite artists, Sureya.  It was a commission between Sureya and Nightmaresky whom I found on Deviant Art.  It's been a while since I last went to DA, and I now find that I'm glad I did.  Else I wouldn't have found this cool image to color for this special day.  Tons of awe-mazing artists there and as long as you give credit (which they definitely deserve) you get to color their images.

I thought this guy would make a cool St. Patrick's Day image for my card.  It's very CAS, just him colored up and added a handwritten sentiment.  Meet Domino.  I think he's kinda dapper looking.  Perfect for my card.

Colored with Copics with Stickles here and there.  Pretty stoked on how it turned out although I would really like to work on shadows around him.  Baby steps... lol

Alrighty, hope you all had a good St. Paddy's day and if you're still celebrating be safe out there!

      Have a good night!

      xx,
      Leanne

      Lilo's Fun Friday #21 - A Birthday wish

      Happy Aloha Friday!

Thank you everyone for helping us celebrate Kris' birthday yesterday.  I hope you all enjoyed the hop and if you haven't done it yet, please head on over HERE to start at the beginning.

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday I am sharing a card I made for a special friend who is celebrating her birthday today.  Who is it?  Mimi Lee Pang!  She also happens to be my Lollipop DT sistah.  Mimi is a sweetheart, always sending me lovely RAKS for our swaps and leaving me wonderful inspirational messages.  She's also got mad talent when it comes to crafting.
Happy Birthday Mimi!  I hope you have a terrific birthday with lots of cake, ice-cream and presents galore!  Many blessings and good fortune to you!
A few of the Lollipop gals are sharing their own cards on each of their blogs and also on the Lollipop Crafts challenge blog today.  Please pop on over to check out their amazing creations for Mimi and then head on over to each gals blog and leave them some love.  Here are their direct links:

I don't know if many of you know that Mimi is also on the challenge team at All That Scraps.  She does an amazing job with those cute images and I thought it would be fun to create a card using one of the newest C.C. Design Pixies and a background stamp from Sweet November

Here's another wonky reverse card.  I now know why Donna uses this Spellbinder set a lot.  It's really cool to work with.  I used Swiss Pixie Woodland Lucy and the giant mushroom from the SN mushroom stamp set.  (All of these items can be found at All That Scraps.)  I created a fun outdoor scene with Lucy sitting on top of the mushroom.  I used some pretty spring-like colors.  I paper-pieced the mushroom and used Copics to color and shade in some parts.  Lucy is also colored with Copics and I finally think I got the hair to my liking.  Needs more practice (which I don't mind doing) but I'm stoked with how it turned out this time.  Had to make my own paper grass, buying a grass border punch is definitely on my list for my next trip to Michael's.  After that the rest of the card came together pretty quickly.  I hand wrote the sentiment and on the inside of the card I used the Happy Birthday circle stamp from C.C. Designs.

Just in case you can't see it, I stickled parts of the mushroom and the barrett in her hair.

Well I haven't sent it off to Mimi yet, cause I'm getting some other goodies to send with it.  So sorry Mimi girl you'll have to wait for the rest of it.  But at least you can enjoy the card for now.  :)  Alrighty, got lots going on this weekend, crafting for another show and visits from the siblings.  Should be a jam-packed weekend.  Hoping I get to sneak in some sleep somewhere.  lol.  Have a great Friday everyone!

      Mahalo for stopping by!

      Lollipop Crafts Sponsor Spotlight with...

      The Greeting Farm

Woo Hoo!!!  I am pretty excited about our sponsor this week.  This is one of my top 3 favorite stamp companies and the one that actually got me to create this blog where I have met so many wonderful friends like you.  If you don't know who the Greeting Farm is you need to come out of your shell and check them out.  hehehe...

Here's a little tidbit about The Greeting Farm in Marie Xiong's words:
"The Greeting Farm is located in Colorado and run by Marie (the illustrator & owner), Ray (owner) & Jessica (TGF Creative coordinator).  TGF started in August 2008 and thanks to all the support of our stampers, is still going strong today. We are most known for our little character Anya but yes we do other images as well. Although I do the artwork, much of my ideas comes from friends and our dear customers. I know that there are companies who predict and start trends but I really feel that our customers know what they want and so I rely on them to direct me."
The Greeting Farm has several red-rubber cling mount stamp collections that include Ian & Anya, Creepy kids, Wild Sprouts, sassy Miss Anyas and an adorable Oliver & Amelia.  They also have several clear polymer stamp sets & digital images that you will enjoy.  The newest lines released are the Beans named after Marie & Ray's daughter, Lily and three sitting sets with 2 new Anyas and a new Ian.   You can find them all in their shop.  Need some inspirations or want to join a challenge?  They've also got two blogs to satisfy your needs.  One for all the showcases and new releases called Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm and their Farm Fresh Challenge blog which runs 2 challenges a week and one monthly challenge.  TGF was recently chosen as a Member Company on Splitcoast Stampers and have a big following there as well as a weekly Saturday sketch challenge.  Head on over and become a friend of the farm.  I already am.
Head on over to the Lollipop blog to see the T-Team's creations with images from The Greeting Farm.   We also have a special guest DT Farmer, Veronica showcasing her adorable card featuring Shimmer Bean.  She played along with our A-Team and came up with this wonderful white with a splash of color card:

      Created by TGF DTM, Veronica

Although I could have used one of the newest images, I wanted to share my card I made using Simply Anya.  Back in the beginning of February, Sammi sent out an email for submissions for her Copicendium #3 magazine.  She was looking for birthday or summer fun themed cards.  I was a bit hesitant, but hey, what did I have to lose?  So I took a chance, submitted two cards and she wanted to use both!  I was over the moon!  Today I'm sharing the one using Simply Anya.  Hope you all like it.

Yes there is a sentiment in the corner of the doily, it says, "You're so special."

Alrighty friends, I hope you have a chance to play in our white with a splash of color challenge because the winner will get a choice of a 4x6 stamp set.  So what are you waiting for?!

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a great day!!

      FBW #194 - Send a Smile 4 Kids

      Hey everyone!

I'm back for a short time!  I'm still recovering from the weekend and hope to be back and commenting soon.  In the meantime, I'm here to share my creations for this week's Flutterby Wednesday #194's challenge.  We are partnering with the ladies from Send a Smile 4 Kids and our theme  is to create a card for a child.  For more details on this week's challenge head on over to the FBW blog and Danni will give you all the details.  We hope that you will consider sending your card to the organization, it will definitely bring a smile to the child receiving it.  For the card guidelines please check out the SAS4K info here.  And it's still a FBW challenge so don't forget your butterfly, angel or fairy.

I created two items.  A card and a bookmark.  The card is featuring Silver Playtime and the bookmark is featuring a cute fruit set also from Tiddly Inks, possibly discontinued.  I kept both CAS and let the images be the focal points on the projects.

      Here's the card:

      And here is the bookmark:

The berry special sentiment stamp was a great find in my $1 stamp stash.  The ribbon might look familiar, and it is, but I thought it tied all the fun colors on the fruit together nicely.

Well now, it's your turn.  Make a card for a child and please consider sending it to Send a Smile 4 Kids.  Don't forget your butterfly, angel or fairy.

Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a great hump day!

      Leanne

      Lilo's Fun Friday #20 - C.A.S.

      Happy Aloha Friday everyone!!

**A short reminder that I will be at the Carson Community Center this weekend with Renate' and Kathy of Pixie Boutique.  for the Spring Stamp in the Hand Convention.  I hope if you are in the area you stop by.  For more details please click HERE.  Thanks!!

Today I have a C.A.S. (Clean and Simple) card to share for LFF #20.  Did you know that Lollipop Crafts is having a C.A.S. challenge this week?  Yep, you have a couple more days to play along.  Make sure to link up for a chance to win some digis from our sponsor, Meljen's Designs.  For all the details jump on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog.

I had a few scraps from cards I've been making for this weekend's stamp show so decided to use them for this card.  I inked up the adorable Miyako again, she was the perfect size for my small card.  I paper pieced her outfit with a small scrap of dp and used Copics to color her up.  Had enough to paper piece the origami heart as well.

I really like how it turned out and I finally, FINALLY, used one of my die cut words I received from Jenny.  I think it was the perfect touch for my card.  The card itself has embossed daisies.   This is as C.A.S. as I get.  (lol)

Hoping to share some pictures from this weekend's show either this weekend if I have time or sometime next week.  For now, Mahalo for stopping by!  Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

      Hugs,
      Lilo

      FBW #193 - Spring Time

      Hey everyone!
Today the Flutterby Wednesday Team is happy to share with you our creations for this week's FBW challenge #193.  The theme is Spring Time and the challenge this week is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.  For more details on our sponsor and the challenge head on over to the Flutterby Wednesday blog.  The team got a chance to pick an image from the Robyn's Fetish store for our inspiration cards.  I chose to go with this cute image called, Babette the bunny.

The card came together pretty quickly for me.  I decided to make an egg-shaped card using 3 levels of the petite oval Spellbinders.  After printing the image out I cut it out and then went to town on coloring.  I know it's not the greatest, and thank goodness the image is cute.  I matted the image to a striped piece of dp from the DCWV Whimsy stack, the colors were perfect and the stripes just right.  The ribbon is a fun touch, pulling all the colors together and the base of the card is yellow cs from Bazzil.

Alrighty, time for you to create a Spring time card and don't forget to include your butterfly, angel or fairy then link it to the FBW #193 post.  Mahalo for stopping by!

      Hugs,
      Leanne
