A Fat Free Boba-licious Bday Card

Hello!

Wow it's been so long since I've visited blogland.  I hope you've all been doing well. Apologies for not being able to stop by.  Since coming back from the La-La Land Craft Retreat my days have been super busy with work stuff and my nights with craft projects so posting and visiting have been put on the back burner until today.  I do have a fun card to share with you today.

This is the birthday card I made for my friend/co-worker, Delaram.  A little background on the card...  Delaram LOVES boba milk tea.  There is a local donut shop by our office that sells the one she really likes and at one point she was going every day and sometimes twice in one day!  Now a days she's limiting herself to 2 a week, unless it's been a stressful day.  So in honor of her love of boba milk tea I created the card above using MFT dies, and the cutest boba milk tea image (TGF Frappi Anya with a few alterations of the cup & removal of the bow) plus a TGF cutting die.  I also was able to use the cool embossing folder on the green cardstock, which made the perfect background for the card.

To create the boba milk tea I used the Die-namices LLD Cool cup dies. First cutting them out of white cardstock, coloring them, then cutting the same out of transparency paper to make it look like the actual cups.  I added the handwritten tags to represent the days of the week and the dark brown circles on the bottom of the cup represent the boba.  On the inside of the card I handwrote, "Hope you have a fat-free BOBA-licious birthday!"  Needless to say she loved it after she figured out what was in the cups.  (Yay! hahaha!)

Well that's all for now, hoping to stop by to visit some of my favorite blogs soon, I know you've been creating up a storm and I can't wait to see what you've been up to.  Have a wonderful Saturday friends!!  Thank you for stopping by!

September SSS - FALL aka...

Hello!

This post is all about Fall which was our theme for the September Secret Sister Swap.

My swap partner was Kathy and the first thing that popped in to my head was how much she loves Starbucks.  It was a no brainer to choose Frappi Anya for my card, but what else could I use?  I found that awesome embossing folder on a trip to Hobby Lobby and I already had the other elements like the awesome MFT coffee cup, MCT doily, MFT banner and letters.  When coming up with the sentiment I wanted it to be different than usual, so choosing the letters "fall aka" I arranged them on the banner which means I needed to have something on the inside...

How about "...pumpkin-spice latte season! Enjoy!"  I stamped Frappi Anya off the bottom of the right side and cut off a scrap of that pretty fall paper.  Then I handwrote the rest of the sentiment.  I added a SBux giftcard to go with the card because it was appropriate.  I also made a tag, that I will be sharing on Monday, and paired it up with a set of fall ribbons I had received from another swap a year ago, but haven't had the opportunity to use, so I thought I would share it with Kathy instead in the hopes that she will be able to use them.

Now that I've share what I sent here's what I received from my buddy Karen...

The absolutely cutest shaker Fall card!!  She is the queen of scenes and this card blew me away.  The colors are so pretty and the details... Beautiful!  She also sent me some fun dies from Memory Box that I'll be able to use to create some fun elements on my cards.  Thank you so much Karen, I love the card and the dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great hump day!!

A Belated Happy Mother's Day post

Hello!

I know I didn't get a chance to post this on the actual day, but better late than never. I hope all the Mothers out there had a lovely day filled with family and lots of spoiling. My dad bought my mom a lovely bouquet of flowers, my brother's and I cooked and for dessert we had a yummy lemon tart from Trader Joe's. I also took my mom shopping, but we didn't get anything, I guess the sales weren't that great.  lol.  We also gave her this card filled with money...

I have been having way too much fun with the new TGF stamps.  It was really easy to choose the ones I wanted to combine to make a new image. I combined Frappi Anya with the new Bean (still not sure what her name is, anyone? Anyone? hahaha) to make her look like my mom.  They both have the same hairstyle.  My mom doesn't really have an outfit like that but it's ok, didn't want to go overboard with the alterations. The colors might be a bit different for everyone, but they are my mom's school colors.  I threw in the green to match the cup.  The chevrons are made up of combinations of different paper pads and some Recollections cardstock that I had scraps of and all were cut using two MFT dies.  I decided to add the Bo Bunny doily at the last minute (note to self, if you're going to do that make sure to adhere the doily first before you add the last chevron else you'll be sorry... lol)  Used a white gel pen to make some faux stitching around the edge of the card and the sentiment is a laser cut word from Island Scrapbooking that I colored with Copics to match the card.  All were mounted on to a kraft card.

I really loved the process of this card.  Using the dies helped a lot and cut in to my scraps considerably.  Well that's all I have today. I hope you're having a great week. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank U! - LFF's #71

Hello and happy Aloha Friday!

Are you all ready for the weekend?  I'm always excited for the weekend. A time to sleep in and wear pjs all day. hahaha!  What you don't?

I've got a really bright and fun card to share for today's Lilo's Fun Friday #71 featuring the really adorable Frappi Anya from The Greeting Farm.

I know this is such a girly card yea?  I love how it turned out.  The banner is a new-to-me from La-La Land Crafts and I paired it with patterned paper from Colorbok. The rest of the card includes a Bo Bunny doily, an MFT tag with MME, Lime Twist, patterned paper, a bright pink ribbon, die cut Alphabet "U" and Frappi Anya. Here's a close-up of the banner and the "U", as you can see I used a white gel pen to write in Thank inside the banner. I'm actually diggin' the colors here.  (yes that is a shocker!)

This card already has a home and I hope the recipient enjoys it.  It was made just for her.

Time to sign off, hope you have a great Friday and a nice weekend.  Thanks a lot for stopping by!

Hello Friend - Frappi Anya

Hello!

It's been one of those crazy weeks at work, so glad the week is almost over!  Lucky for me I got some really cute happy mail on Monday and couldn't wait to get home and start a new project.  The happy mail was from The Greeting Farm and inside was the newest and cutest stamp, little Miss Frappi Anya!  It's been so very long since I've seen anything so cute!! Love the whole design and although I don't drink coffee I do like frappacinos aka frappes and I know a lot of ladies who love frappes too.

What a wonderful collaboration come to life.  I can see myself using this little cutie for some other projects. I've already stamped and colored her two more times!  hahaha..  She's awesome.  So I made a card, and I have to say this is a layout I would never think to do before.  It doesn't really look too bad.  (I think... hahaha)

I had a bit of fun playing with some MFT dies and some pinking scissors.  No patterned paper here, just a red card, a background stamp and a happy go-lucky way of putting it all together.  (lol)  The sentiment is computer generated, yep I have a lot of those.  I've seen lots of ladies doodling around their images so I decided to give it a try.  As you can see I need lots more practice, but it's very cool to be able to do it and say, it was supposed to look like that.  (hahaha)  On the inside is another banner that says Happy Birthday.

Well that was fun!  Hope this made you smile if only because Frappi Anya is so darn cute!! I'm off to bed now, the work week is definitely NOT over!!  Have a lovely Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow with my newest Kitty Bee Design share for Aloha Friday challenge #22.  It's gonna be a fun one with a fabulous sponsor!  G'nite!
