SCRS Challenge #85 - A Sketch

Hello!
Today is my last day posting as a Guest Designer for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  I've had a blast with the team and want to say a big Mahalo to Sparkle for having me and Kim for asking me.  I love these images and have truly enjoyed my time with these awesomely talented ladies.  I also feel special to be able to be a part of SCRS's 2nd anniversary.  With this month being a celebration month for SCRS I wanted to go out sharing a card I made for another special celebration.  My friends Jeff and Lisa got married on a beautiful Saturday morning in Thousand Oaks, CA.  The bride was beautiful in her wedding dress, the groom looking dashing in his white and black tux (with a pink bow) and all the lovely groomsmen and bridesmaids all dressed in pinks and grays.  It was a long time coming, but well worth the wait.  I decided to use one of the fairly new SCRS images... Mr. & Mrs. which was perfect for this particular celebration...

For the layout I used this pretty cool sketch by Kim, which happens to be the new bi-weekly SCRS Challenge #85.  Hope you can play along.

Don't forget you still have time to purchase some SCRS stamps for 25% off all orders, sales ends July 31st, Midnight EST.

Thanks again to the wonderful SCRS DT for letting me be a part of their world for the last few weeks.  Another "Cheers!" to Sparkle on her 2nd Anniversary!

Mahalo for stopping by!  Take care!

Hugs,
Leanne

Thank you Davy!

Happy Monday!
Hope you are all doing well.  Have you been watching the Olympics?  I have and I have to say, it's pretty cool to see all the different events and all the participants compete.  What I don't like is that the internet already has all the results posted when we haven't even seen the event. No bueno!  But all in all it's been a really nice weekend of sports.

This is going to be a quick one as the card itself is pretty self explanatory.  hehehe...

We had a temp working with us this summer.  His name is Davy and Friday was his last day with us.  He's going back to school, so we wanted to take him out for lunch and I made him a card.  Nothing too fancy just something cool to say Thanks.

I was stoked that his name fit with the thank you like a crossword puzzle and that I didn't have to go too big with the base.  Yea!!  Used the CC Design cutter alphabet dies for the letters, a Sizzix embossing folder for the polka dots.  The stamped image is Backpack Oliver from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  Used dark brown & kraft cs here as well as Rich Cocoa Memento ink to stamp Oliver and distress the paper.  On the inside I stamped the full image of Backpack Oliver, but since we all already signed it I didn't take a picture.

Pink haired Ava

Woo Hoo!

I hope you aren't too tired of seeing Ava again.  I actually printed her out three times, but hadn't finished this last one until Thursday night.  So today I'd like to share my pink haired Ava from Saturated Canary.

I know her hair looks reddish, but it's mostly pink with a few hints of red here and there!  I love colored hair! Reminds me of those awesome anime characters I love to watch.  I used a different color scheme on her outfit, something totally different!  That shade of blue-green on the balloon, her bow and some of the accents are a combo of B21 & Y13.  I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be yellow so I added the light blue and loved the color so I went in and added it to her outfit too.  Another very simple layout and another handmade stickpin.  I found the perfect shade of pink ribbon to match her hair.  Sorta ties it all in.. (hahaha..)  I punched those butterflies with a MS punch and colored the butteflies to match the pinks I used in her hair.

Okie dokie, gonna try to complete a couple more long neglected projects and maybe I'll have something to share tomorrow.  :)  Mahalo for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments, they do bring smiles to my face to read what you all think of my creations. Have a terrific Sunday! :)

Hugs,
Leanne

Konnichiwa!

Good morning!!

Happy Saturday!  I'm popping in to share another card!  Yay!!  Thank you for all your lovely comments and welcome to my newest friends!!  Hope you find some inspiration here. :)

SCRS is sponsoring Feeling Sketchy's challenges for the month of July.  I decided to play along using Cherry Blossom Rin

Yep, I did fussy cut her out, well except for certain parts, those I actually stamped on to the origami paper and colored in.  Kept the colors bright and fun, especially with her kimono, accents and yes the paper choices.  Here is the sketch if you want to play along:

I believe today is the last day to link up your card, so hurry up, it's a pretty fun sketch.  Go here to check out the details and the DT samples.

Alrighty time to sign off.  Hope you all have a fantastik Saturday!  Mahalo for stopping by! :)

Lilo's Fun Friday #33

Happy Friday everyone!!

Woo Hoo!!  Who of you can't wait for the weekend to start?  I'm still trying to catch up, so I definitely am! hahaha!  It's been a while since my last LFF, so let's catch up with a Saturated Canary share.  The other day the awesome illustrator of Saturated Canary, Krista, posted on FB a link to some really amazing freebies.  Make sure to become a follower (PLEASE don't be a dweeb!) before you download the freebies, which you won't have any troubles becoming, she's got some awesomely cute designs.  I have been a fan of SC for quite some time, just haven't had a chance to play with all the images I've purchased yet.  And now she's gone rubber!!  O lordy, there goes the bank account!  Lol!!

Today I wanted to share two different versions of colors using the adorable Ava.  I've been dabbling with red hair lately, trying to get as many shades under my belt as possible.  So here's a simple tag and Ava with reddish hair and green eyes.

I went with a different but fun color combo of light pink, aqua and gray for her outfit.  I love how it turned out.  Here is a close up of Ava as a red head.

I'm still practicing and will definitely keep trying to get that hair down.  I think it would be easier if I printed her out a bit bigger, but I just went with it and I think it turned out pretty cute.

Next up is a brown haired version of her with smoky brown eyes.  (Love how you can color us the eyes to any shade in the Copic universe!)  What a difference the colors make using the same image, yea?  Going for a red, white and blue theme I am sending this one to my Secret Sister for July.  She doesn't know it yet, but I almost kept this one! hahaha!!

It's really amazing how just a change of colors can transform the same image to look different!  I'm sooo lovin' her outfit!  I also made that stick pin accessory!  Go me!  (hahaha)  I kept the design really simple.  Love how the dark blues pop here.  I hope my SSS likes it.  Here's a close up...

I actually love this shot right here!!  I think I will go in a little more with some darker browns at the roots, but for the most part I am content with it.   See the balloon?  Yep I used Copics to make that heart.  Nice how it turned out yea?  hehehe..

Okie dokie, time for me to say... Happy Aloha Friday and Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a great weekend and I hope you all get crafty!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Lollipop Crafts - July Sponsor Spotlight

Hey Everyone!
(Please scroll down for my SCRS Challenge #84 post)

I'm so sorry to post this so late!  Things have been crazy around here and I need to get back on track!

Today I'm catching up with a Lollipop Crafts share and I am spotlighting Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More, who is the July sponsor of the month.  They will be giving our randomly chosen winner at the end of the month 4 digi images of the winner's choice.  Here's a bit about them.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
is owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.

Today I have three really simple tags featuring Fruity strawberries.  I printed them out very small, small enough to fit into a two inch scallop circle punch.  I colored them with Copics and added ribbon to the top.  I also handwrote, "a sweet treat" at the bottom of each tag.  I plan to create more of these for little treat bags for my stash.

Click here to enter the Christmas in July challenge. We've had a lot of great entries so far.  I am really bad about making Christmas cards throughout the year so it's great to have all your inspirations to see.

Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Leanne

Our challenge is open to all players. Each challenge a random winner will be chosen, and the winner of each challenge will receive a fantastic SCRS rubber stamp! In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!
I'm all about making tags lately.  All sizes and shapes.  For today's share I went with a pretty big tag featuring, Birthday Josh. I kept it pretty CAS and used the picture of the balloons for my color inspiration.

The sentiment flags were cut from some scraps from a Simple Stories, Happy Day tag I had left over.  Love this paper pad!  The image is colored with Copics with a bright turqoise ribbon on top.  I decided to change up the hair and went with a reddish orange hue.  This is a really bright tag and it measures 5"h x 3"w!

For more inspiration, make sure to stop by the rest of the design teams blogs:

SCRS 2nd Anniversary Release - Festive Rin

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the last day of previews at SCRS.  Today I am excited to share Festive Rin with you.  She will be available in the SCRS store on July 14th.  Make sure to visit the SCRS designers for more peeks of Festive Rin.  Sparkle will be giving away Festive Rin to one lucky person!  For a chance to win, you need to comment on all the designer's blogs (check out the list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Rin post.  You have until midnight EST each day to comment.  The lucky winner will be announced on Monday.  Good luck!!

Here is my card featuring Festive Rin...

Isn't she gorgeous?  When I first saw her I said she has to be colored in jewel tones with gold and sparkle!   A little play off of Jasmin from Alladin, but instead of a magic lamp she has a magic cupcake! hahaha!  Well at least a sparkly one to share.  :)  There are two very fun sentiments that go with Festive Rin however the one I used is actually from the Birthday Emily stamp set.  I thought it was fitting.  I used the wonky Spellbinders as a base and kept it pretty simple.  I love the embossing on the gold paper.  This was really fun to color and put together.  I think she is my favorite out of the four.  :)

Alrighty, make sure to stop by each of the designer's blogs and leave some love (including mine)

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog hop and stamp showcase

Hello!!!

If you just arrived from Renate's blog then you are on the right track.  If you just popped in to say hi and see what I'm up to, then you are in luck.  We are having our first introductory blog hop at Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts!!  Head on over to YFHC blog and start at the beginning.  Lots of fun stuff going on over there and you don't want to miss anything!!

I hope you have been enjoying the hop so far.  Today I get to share my card featuring "Fumi" of the duo Yumi & Fumi.  She's named after me and see those buns on her head?  Well from time to time I would have my hair up like that too.  That's how she was "born" so to speak. hahaha!!  The stamp is one and measures 2.5" x 3.25".  You can either separate them or stamp them together.

Here is the card I made going pretty CAS with lots of layers.  O and that beautiful crotched flower was from my fellow DT and friend Kim Yu!! She's amazingly talented and I had to force myself to add the flower since I hoard all of her yummy creations. hahaha!

She's so cute yea?!  They all are.  I used the bubble border and sentiment from ATS.  Also used Spellbinders scalloped heart and regular heart to create the sentiment window.

Alrighty, now you should be on your way to see Sandie!!!  She's last on the showcase but she's got the piece de resistance!  It's sooo cute and totally encompasses Yumi & Fumi perfectly!  hahaha!!

Mahalo for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy yourselves!!

Leanne

A Dream Come True...

Hey everyone!

Remember when I mentioned the reason why I haven't been blogging consistantly?  Well here's the reason why... I have some amazing news to share.  Today a dream that was conceived almost a year ago comes to life for my crafting buddy, Renate' Winter and myself.  We are joining the stamping community as owners of a little shop called Yumi & Fumi Handmade.

We partnered up with an amazing illustrator who totally gets us.  She's talented and super sweet.  So it's been late nights, long weekends, chats on FB, or Google chat trying to get everything completed for this week.  Why you ask?  Well we will be selling our own brand of chibi/anime style stamps named Yumi & Fumi at our big launch this weekend (July 14-15) at the Stamp in the Hand Rubber Stamp Convention in Carson, CA.  A fitting place for us to start I think.

We are still working out the kinks on the website and the store, but our blog is up and running so head on over there to see it and let me know what you think.  Grab our kawaii badge that my awesome buddy Renate' created and add it to your blog.  Become a follower and help us spread the word. : )

We're having a mini blog hop (July 12-15) with our design team who you will get to meet tomorrow.  I posted snippets on the blog of some of the cards that will be show cased during the mini hop.  I know I'm such a stinker yea?  hahaha!!  I really didn't want to give too much away.  At that time you will get to see our first set of stamps.  We've gotten a lot of good reviews from family, friends and some unexpected husbands.  All really positive and that just makes this all worth it.

Now that everything is finally out I am planning to get back in to blogging and visiting more.  I am also behind on a few projects for some really important people and it's about time I get back on track.  Apologies to you folks!

Hoping you all will take some time to visit the blog over the next couple of days and let me know what you think and help spread the word...  And if you are in town, come visit us at the Carson Rubber Stamp Show.

Mahalo for your patience and for coming here to leave me wonderful comments.  I read each one and get all tingly inside.

Have a lovely day!!
Hugs,
Leanne

SCRS 2nd Anniversary Release - Birthday Cake Emily

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first day of previews at SCRS.  Today I am excited to share Birthday Cake Emily.  She will be available in the SCRS store on July 14th.  Make sure to visit the SCRS designers for more peeks of Birthday Cake Emily.  Sparkle will be giving away Birthday Cake Emily to one lucky person!  For a chance to win, you need to comment on all the designer's blogs (check out the list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Emily post.  You have until midnight EST each day to comment.  The lucky winner will be announced on Monday.  Good luck!!

Here is my card featuring Birthday Cake Emily...

Isn't she pretty?!  I love the whole design and that cake!!  I would love to have a slice of that chocolate cake!  hahaha!  This image also comes with two fun sentiments.  I kept the card very CAS. The dp as well as the lavendar paper are from Wild Rose Studio's Bella paper pack.  I got lucky finding that paper to match her.  I colored her up then I found the paper I thought would go well with her coloring.  I normally pick paper first but this time I did it backwards, and totally lucked out!  See that gorgeous flower?  Well my fellow teammate, Kim Yu, made me some of these for a swap and I finally brought one out to use on this card.  I was so happy that it matched!!!  Doesn't she do beautiful work?  If you haven't stopped by her blog you must!  From there you can head on over to her Etsy store to purchase her gorgeous handmade items.

Alrighty, make sure to stop by each of the designer's blogs and leave some love (including mine):

Lilo's Fun Friday #32

Hello!!

The weekend is here!  Woo Hoo!!

I thought it would be fun to share something quick for Lilo's Fun Friday so I'm rounding out the week with Miyoko from Sister Stamps release #8.  She's so fun to color and I love that little sassy tilt she has.  It reminds me a of yearbook pose. hahaha!

I colored her up and pop dotted her on to some scrap paper and made a fun tag.  She's perfect for quick tags or gift card holders.  Check out the Sister Stamps blog for more inspirations.  O!  And I was practicing a bit more on hair coloring and I love how it turned out this time.  Almost as good as Amy's.  I'm gonna keep practicing.  :)

Well friends, there is going to be some very exciting things happening here next week.  I hope you have time to stop by to check it out.  For now, have a terrific Aloha Friday and a fabulous weekend!

Mahalo for stopping by!

Happy 4th!!

Happy July 4th everyone!

It's so weird to be off in the middle of the week, but I'm definitely NOT going to complain.  :)

I have a little something that I whipped up real quick featuring Sister Stamps, Kiyoko.

She's celebrating our Independence day with a serious fireworks show!  I dusted off my Cricut to cut out the star shapes.  Yes I do have one that occasionally gets some love, especially when I don't have that particular shape in Spellbinders, hahaha.  I layered red, white and blue cardstock for the base and top of the card, the bottom of the card I left white and scored it at the top then glued the red and white together.  The patterned papers (both on Kiyoko's kimono & the fireworks star behind her) are from a really old stack from DCWV, definitely came in handy to complete this card.  : )

Wishing you all a fun 4th of July.  Keep watch on your kiddies around the fireworks and be SAFE out there!!

Hugs,
Lilo

SCRS Challenge #83

Hello everyone!

A big huge Mahalo to all of you that stopped by during the Sister Stamps blog hop.  I appreciated all the lovely comments and I hope you all were inspired by the ladies that shared as much as I was/am. *: )

Now, I'm super excited to share that I will be a GDT for Sparkle Creations for the month of July!  This is a very special month for SCRS, as it is their 2nd Anniversary!  How cool is that?!  To start off this month's celebration, SCRS is having a Throwback challenge for the next 2 weeks.  So pull out those SCRS images from the 1st year and start creating.

For my card I chose Lantern Rin and gave her a 60's vibe/look.

Used my favorite K&Company Berry Sweet paper pad to paper piece her outfit, the butterfly and the wonky reverse rectangles.  I added the pretty bright pink mulberry paper (embossed with the Oriental weave embossing folder) onto black cardstock and layered the other papers on top.  Added a sakura to the bottom and a colourful butterfly to the top.  I hope you can see all the lovely sparkles.  For my very first SCRS GDT card I wanted it to "sparkle" hehehe.  I didn't add a sentiment as this could be used for any celebration or just for fun card.

Head on over to the SCRS blog and check out the rest of the DT's creations as well as all the fun details for the Throwback challenge.

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Happy Release Day Sister Stamps!!

Hello and welcome to the last day of the Sister Stamps 1st Anniversary blog hop.  You should have hopped on over from the fabulous Amy Young's blog, but if you didn't and want to get some inspiration and possibly win a stamp then head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and start at the beginning.

Whew, it's been a wonderful 4 days of hopping and I hope you are all inspired by what you have seen from everyone that participated in this awesome celebration.  I wanted to say first and foremost Mahalo to Jenny for asking me to be a part of not only a release GDT, but also a participant in this wonderful celebrational blog hop.  Thank you to Jenny and Denise for these wonderful images and a big CONGRATULATIONS on turning 1!  Cheers to many, many more!  And to my blog hop sisters you gals ROCK, I am so inspired by all that you do and create and I am so happy to be in your company. XOXO!!

For my last day's share I wanted to do an altered project.  I bought a set of boxes from Michael's way back and they have been sitting on the shelf waiting for attention.  I finally broke down and altered one.  This is the second box in a set of 3 and I thought it was appropriate for the last day of the hop.  Hope you like it...

Now this is the side of the box.  I used washi paper to cover the box and the lid.  The dies are the familiar C.C. Designs bubble border and the MS flower border

Next up is the top of the lid featuring Mariko with a special message:

Now what's say we see what's under the lid yea?  Why it's a card with Mariko on it!!  What else is under there?

More cards featuring all three characters from the new release.  Here's Mariko...

And Miyoko

And last but certainly not least, Takeo

I hope you liked my last day's share as I had a grand time making them.  Don't forget today is the BIG release day, so head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and check out their sidebar for a list of vendors.

Now it's time to say Aloha and hop on over to Nadine's amazing blog.  Tell her I sent ya.

Mahalo for stopping by the past few days and leaving wonderful comments.  I hope you enjoyed the hop as well as all the wonderful creations from all the lovely and talented ladies using these adorable stamps.  Take care and happy hopping & shopping!!

Hugs,
Leanne
