Pretty Cool

Happy Friday!!!
This is gonna be really fast as I have to head out the door to start my weekend...
Made this card for the WCW challenge at CA&F - Choc, pink and rose colors. Used Cuddle Anya from TGF and the sentiment (TGF) from the Roll Call kit. Also kept with the no dp theme as i couldn't decide on pp. =) using spellbinders and the manhattan embossing folder (S/U) I created this layered rose using shimmery rose colored cs, light pink cs, brown cs and white with the sentiment stamped cs, do you see the rose? lol. For the background I used a pebbled looking embossing folder (Cuttlebug) and layered. Added a pink and white polka dot ribbon and voila:

See pretty fast!

Dr. Anya

Happy Thursday. Hope you're having a good day! It's gloomy outside in Calif (boo!) and it's supposed to rain.. Sigh.. Hopefully where you are it's nice and sunny.
So on to my post. TGF is having a really super fun contest called: Design Your Anya. I personally am not a very good sketch artist, but I wanted to try this out. There are so many cool ideas out there and I figured why not submit something of mine. haha.. So here's my attempt, I call her Dr. Anya:

Fun with Maria

Hi, Hopefully this post won't be too long tonight. Figured I could post it now since I have some energy before I go to bed.
Broke in another of the cuties from the TGF Roll Call Kit named Maria. She is such a sweetie and I just love her pom-pom ponytails. :)
I played with the CA&F sketch 18 for this card, having a set sketch is always nice when you want to make something quick. I used a color theme of deep red, turquoise-blue and white. Threw in some punches, a stencil and some cool scraps of matching dp for this card:

Here are some snippets of the card:
A close up of Maria from the TGF Roll Call Kit. I "altered" some of her hair to make it look like the whole mass was pinned up. Nice and neat. Colored her dress a beautiful shade of red. The flowers in her hair are similar in color to the rest of the flowers on the card:

This is a close up of the ribbon and the layers of paper used on the card. I wanted to create a Renaissance feel or close to it. I cut out some cool dp using the Stampin' Up top note die and a smaller version of the same cool dp with a smaller Spellbinders Nestabilities label 8. I also cut out some turquoise-blue cs with a slightly larger label 8 die and embossed it using a Sizzix flower embossing folder. Also included is a view of the sponged Versafine blue lagoon ink over a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Impressabilities stencil onto the white card:

Used a Martha Stewart Fleur De Lis border punch and some cool dp. Here's another shot of the sponged in background on the white card:

Close up of the flowers, each layer is a separate punch and the dots and lines were hand drawn with a Sakura white gel pen:

Here is a close up of the sentiment, again each layer was from a separate punch. I used a Sakura white gel pen to create the dots and the lines on the petals and some white Colorbox ink as an accent border on the sentiment. The sentiment itself from Hero Arts was stamped with a blue lagoon Versafine ink:

This close up is of the 3 flowers in the top left corner above Maria. I was trying to make the same flower coloring and all to match the flowers in Maria's hair. Came pretty close to it. For added effect I rounded the petals to create a dimensional feel. I love the flowers:

CA&F Monday Mania Challenge with.... ME!

Hello and Happy Monday!
If you haven't stopped by the CA&F blog today, please check it out as today's Monday Mania Challenge is with...ME! :) I was super stoked and totally honored to be asked by the fabulous Amy Young to create a challenge for this week's MMC @ CA&F. I went for a 2-parter a color combo and no dp challenge.
So here is the challenge:
First no design or patterned paper (I know a lot of you are probably groaning, but I thought this would be fun to see what you can come up with) & second use the following combo of colors (or similiar to them): My challenge was based on one of the first TGF challenges that I actually won which was a no dp from the fabulous Rachel Schneider and the color combo is one that you don't normally see.
For my first card I used my favorite TGF-WS Ebony and altered her body using Grace's overalls from the (TGF) Hope & Grace set:

Instead of the traditional card I used my Spellbinders to create this scalloped round card. I used my embossing folders to create some dimension to the cs and added some flowers with a little sparkle. Adding the ribbon gave this a little girly touch. The tomboy in me just loves this card and I can't resist her blue eyes.
For my second card I combined Ebony and Hope's dress this time and gave her some light brown eyes.

This is a totally girly card and I took advantage of some embossing folders and punches. Adding lots of flowers always seems to work for me and a super sweet sentiment to add to it doesn't hurt at all.

Summer Fun

Happy Saturday!
It's a beautiful day today. Looking forward to inking up some new stamps and maybe watch a HS volleyball final today.

This is a card I just finished. Used one of the cute new Sprouts from the Roll Call set from TGF, Summer, for my card today. I used the CA&F sketch #19 to create this summer yellow card which is the theme for the WCW challenge over at CA&F. When I think of summer I think of blooming flowers and being outdoors. so I put Summer in a field of wildflowers.
Well gotta go and get ready to do the second part of my day. I hope you have a great Saturday and spend it doing something fun.
