Kitty Bee Designs DT Spotlight

Good morning!

Hope you are all recovering nicely from the Easter weekend.  Today I'm sharing a spotlight of the card below over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog.

I don't know about you but I'm always running out of cards for my stash.  The one that I don't have too many of are baby cards.  I used the cute sheep from the KDB Zodiac Set II in the Etsy shop to create the card above.  Other materials I used: MFT bib die, a fun embossing folder to give the white cardstock a nice texture, the sentiment is computer generated and the patterned paper is from my stash. 

Keeping the card CAS was the key here.  Now I have something cute to add to my stash and use when the occasion arises.

Hello!

The other night I as I was making this card, using several of the LLLC dies when it occurred to me that I could use felt as the material to cut out the rocking horse, so I did!

I also used felt on the MFT bib which I stitched, not so professionally, using some brown thread.  The rest of it came together pretty quickly.  The polka dot corrugated paper was a nice touch giving this card another fun dimension.  Adding the baby button on top and the sentiment was the last touch to this pretty fun card.  I've already cut up some other felt rocking horses and will probably create more CAS cards like these for my stash.

Cutie Pie - Baby Marci

Hello!

Today I'd like to share a card featuring Baby Marci and some of the baby themed dies from La-La Land Crafts.

I colored Baby Marci with Copics for the #thedailymarker30daychallenge.  I'm having a blast just coloring.  Not sure why I gravitated toward those colors, it was like I was coloring for a Christmas project, but I turned it around, sorta.  Choosing to use some of the baby themed dies was a no-brainer.  I guess the hard part was figuring out the rest.  I picked papers from a really old DCWV paper pad as well as some scraps and the doily.  Now it can be used for a baby card or maybe a Christmas card.  All I know is it's going in my stash.  Here's a close-up of the dies and Baby Marci...

Isn't she adorable?!!  I really love that rocking horse die too.  I made a couple cards with just the rocking horse, but of course that's for another post.  >.<  I used markers and a white gel pen to add the designs to Marci's sleeper and her bunny.  I had a lot of fun with this one!!

I'm gonna get in a couple more images to color and maybe work on a project before I head to bed, yep I'm a late owl!  hahaha!  With that being said, it's as good a time as any to stop right here.  Have a great Saturday doing something fun.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Bees & I were lucky enough to receive a few images to showcase, please make sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what my teammates came up with.  They are sure to bring a smile to your face and give you tons of inspiration!!  Today I get to show off Sunbell - Precious Wings.  Oh but please be very quiet we don't want to wake her up...

Oh my talk about adorable!!  This image was the perfect one for my card and this challenge theme. This is another baby card and it's exploding with some bright colors!!  I chose yellow, orange, and green as my color palette to go with a summer theme.  The blooms look like she's nestled right in the middle of a garden.  Oh man I stressed about this one for a while.  After much deliberation I ended up taking a bunch more leaves and flowers away.  Now it definitely looks like she's "in the garden".  Here are some pictures...

   

Using a white pen I added polka dots to the orange flowers and buttons.  It was really nice to use up some older Prima flowers for this card. After everything was glued down I added some water dew drops using my transparent pearlen pen.

The banner is part of the TE Party banner cutting plate.  I ran it through my Cuttlebug with some scrap white paper and trimmed off one of the banners.  I handwrote "Sweet" inside and stamped two daisies with MFT lemon drop ink, I also distressed it a little with some orange ink.  Here's a shot of the inside of the card featuring a couple of baby sentiments from AmyR.

Welcome little one - Spotlight time at KBD

Hello!

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend spent with family, friends, food and some fireworks.  I spent the weekend going to Anime Expo, watched fireworks in my neighborhood, and got in some good food with friends & family.  So all the bases were covered. :)  I got in some craft time too. Made a few cards for fun and for my DT responsibilities. Today is the 1st Monday of the month and I have the spotlight at the Kitty Bee Designs blog...

Here's my version of baby shabby chic.  I used one of my favorite KBD images, Balloon Flying Panda, for today's spotlight.  There seems to be a lot of ladies at work that are expecting so I need to make sure I have enough cards to give out.  This image is perfect for any baby theme.  I love that I can color it up using neutral, boy or girly tones.  Here I used more girly tones.  I'm glad I was able to use a lot of my tools and supplies. Especially my newer dies.

Here's a close up of some of the dies used.  The first is the Lovely view die by Spellbinders for Little Darlings.  Love this die, it's really pretty.  I first used kraft cardstock to cut it, embossed it with a Swiss dots folder and using corduroy ink with a sponge I went all the way around it to give it that cool rustic color.  I did the same to most of this card trying not to go overboard.  The banner and corner dies are from La-La Land Crafts.  I'm slowly building up my LLLC and MFT die collection and am hoping to be able to use them all real soon.  The other die I used was a leaf die from LLLC that is right under the giant Prima flower.  The sentiment is one from my computer generated stash that I cut in to a banner and distressed.

Glad I can add this card to my stash, it'll just be really hard to let it go.  LOL!  Anyone else have that problem? hehe... Sakura-Chan

Hi!

We've had a boom in pregnancies at work, not sure what's in the water, but it's affecting some of our newly wedded ladies! hahaha!!  So glad I have the newest Sister Stamps to create some fun baby cards for the future mamas-to-be. Here's a simple card featuring Sakura-chan and the Sakura set:

First I started off stamping/coloring Sakura-chan, then I masked her and used several of the Sakura set stamps to stamp around her.  I wasn't sure what I was going for at that point, so I put the image aside after coloring it up.  Not sure where the branches started to play a part but once I started I couldn't stop.  I drew them in with a Copic marker and then tried to draw in some details with a darker Copic color. Grabbed one of the impression sakura stamps and used one of my new ink pads from MFT to create the buds on the tree. The washi paper was layered over the white card and using the crocheted ribbon on the top and the bottom gave this a really nice girly touch.  The last addition is the computer generated sentiment.  Here is a close up...

I used a gold Viva decor pen for the stamens inside the sakura.  It gives a nice dimensional touch. You can see a little bit more of the branches and the yellow flowers here.

I kept the design fairly simple & tried to keep them all the same.  By doing this it made it easier to finish all three.  After coloring each image I used an MFT stitched circle die to cut out the image. Used a larger sized stitched circle die to cut out the striped paper.  Both matted to the base which was cut using a SB die that I embossed using a Swiss dot folder.  Added some twine and a baby button brad to the top.  The yellow paper had some nice subtle watermarks to it, but I wanted to add some nice subtle stars to tie in so I used a stubby star stamp from Stamps by Judith in Desert Sand ink.  The sentiment is from C.C. Designs.

This card has some of the same details as the one above except instead of using patterned paper I decided that the nice detail on the card was pattern enough.  I added the stars and the sentiments and changed the color of the twine.  Here is the last card in this group:

Loved that lined paper but could not resist adding a fun detail to match the sentiment so that's where the stars came in.  The dark brown really gives it a nice almost vintage look.  I'm pretty stoked because I now have three ready to use baby cards that could possibly be used for a baby shower, birth, birthday or any occasion related to babies.

Hello!

Boy can't believe it's already April!  Hope you're all enjoying the weather and upcoming Easter celebrations.  Today is also the first Monday of the month and that means another spotlight showcase for Kitty Bee Designs.  Today I'm sharing a CAS baby boy card featuring one of the adorable images from the Jungle Buddies.  There are a total of 5 stamps in this set, but for today I chose to showcase the adorable zebra.  And his stripes are not your normal black & white...

It's pretty clean and simple and perfect to welcome a new baby boy.  The jungle print & plaid patterned paper are both from DCWV, Nana's Nursery - Baby Boy (old school paper) don't you think they match perfectly with my colored image?  I added a simple computer generated sentiment to complete it.  The circles are die-cut with MFT stitched circle dies.  I also used a piercer to pierce the edges of the card.  Now with just the right colors and papers this could be transformed in to a little girl card too.  The possibilities are endless.  Head on over to the Kitty Bee Designs Etsy store to pick this one up along with a few others to create your next special occasion baby card.

Kitty Bee Designs - Monday Spotlight

Morning everyone!

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments on my last post for the KBD blog hop.  You're all too kind.  If you haven't been by the KBD blog or the Etsy store then you're missing out on the new February release.  For all the details and a chance to win a digital image from the new release make sure to head on over to the KBD blog where it all begins.

With today being the first Monday of the month that means spotlight time for me on the Kitty Bee Designs blog!  Today I get to share another project featuring an adorable image from the Etsy store. 

Now my project is a baby girl card I made for my co-worker and his wife, who happens to be an ex co-worker of mine.  They recently had a little girl and this being their first baby I wanted to make something special that they could enjoy.  I'm using this sweet image, Balloon Flying Panda, because it seemed fitting for them.  If you knew where I work then you would understand why. 

Had so much fun making this one.  Used a lot of textures to give it a little more dimension and fun.  The balloons are cut with dies from CC Designs as are the rosette and the clouds.  I used felt for the rosette and the clouds and colored burlap paper for the balloons.  The dp is a pretty light blue with white flowers from Prima (Meadow Lark).  I loved tate color of blue, reminded me of a sky with clouds.  Speaking of clouds I created some subtle ones right behind the panda with a stencil I made, Tumbled Glass distress ink and a Ranger sponge with a wooden handle.  Here's a close-up... 

I added a gem to the center of the rosette and a spray of gems.  The white and silver twine is from Daiso and has a really pretty sparkle to it.  Here's another picture...

The Prima paper is pretty yea?  I finally cut in to it and glad I did.  I'm trying to use what I have as part of my crafting therapy.  (hahaha)  I matted it on to white cardstock on to pink shimmer cardstock and then on to a white card.  Here's a shot of the burlap balloons.  Love the bright colors, too bad it only comes in these four colors. And you'll see the sparkle in the twine...  Love it!

 
I had a lot of fun putting this one together using lots of textures.  So cute that she's flying through the air with only 4 balloons I added four more on the side for fun.  I think I chose the perfect image to showcase today.  Can't wait to give them this card.

BABY girl

Good morning!

Stopping in for a short post.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop as well. :)

Hope you all had a terrific weekend.  My weekend was pretty good.  I attended a baby shower for one of my good friends yesterday.  It was a lot of fun.  A lot of different games that I enjoyed and the food was dee-licioso!  I went with a peachy-yellow color for her card and picked the new Swiss Pixie baby girl digi stamp from All That Scrap's January release to use. 

As you can see the layout is pretty simple.  I'm glad I chose a different color scheme because this card is nice and bright.  I'm going to enter this for fun in the All That Scraps Anything Goes challenge.

LFF #54 - Shhh.....

Hello...

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments!  Work has been so crazy and reading all the lovely comments makes the end of the day so much better.  Mahalo for making this girl's end of the day a whole lot better!  :)

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday I wanted to share a baby card I made for my friend Angie.  After stamp camp we became good friends and every month a few of us still get together for dinner and catch up.  She revealed to us that she was pregnant and boy were we all happy.  So many babies are on the way.  Love it!!  We were meeting up for dinner so I wanted to make a card for her.  Lucky for me a ton of really adorable baby images were just released from All That Scraps including some super cute forest and safari pals from Sweet November!!  Wow, Amy did an awesome job with this new release. And I can't leave out any of the CC Designs images... all super cute!!  

I purchased the digital images for most of the release and started to build a small scene...

Shhhh... don't wake the baby....

Oh darn!!  I missed a nose!!  {lol}  Oh well, hopefully Angie won't notice it.  hehehe...  Anyhoos, here's my card featuring the Forest & Safari pals who are making sure that Baby Bear Beatrice is staying all snuggled and warm during her nap.  The cool thing about BB Beatrice is that you can color her up as a little boy, which is what I did, no one the wiser. ;)  I had a lot of fun with the colors, mixing and mis-matching, but they all seem to go together.  I know there are a lot of mistakes, but hopefully I'll be forgiven.  {ha!} 

After I colored all the images (save for that nose) I cut the paper down and created a frame.  It was actually super easy.  After gluing down the colored image on to the dp I cut small strips of dp and angle/glued them in the corners.  Pretty easy!!  Oh look another handwritten sentiment {lol} hey I needed something fast. :)

Baby Mia

Good morning!!!

My co-worker/friend Desiree is pregnant with her first baby and she's having a girl!!  We are so excited to meet little Mia and can't wait for her to get here!!  Last month we had a baby shower for her and her DH.  The room was decorated with giant gorgeous balloons made by my co-worker, with cute stuffed animals, the balloons were awesome and sooo cute!!  I will also share those as well, they are too cute not to. Everyone had a wonderful time including mama and papa-to-be.

I wanted to make this card super special, well just because.  {hehe}  I had seen this cute Butterfly baby from Saturated Canary and thought PERFECT!  Pulled papers from Simple Stories, Baby Steps, and lots of dark brown cardstock.  (Be warned there will be a ton of photos and this might be longthy - lol!)  I have to say this is one of my all time favorite cards!  Desiree had the sweetest compliment.  It's a funny story!  She never took the card out of the bag when she opened my present so I thought she hadn't seen it.  :(  After the party and when all the presents were packed away, I told her to make sure she looks inside the card that there was a giftcard inside, she confessed that she was afraid to take it out because she didn't want to mess it up!  {hehe}  She really hadn't seen the card at all!  I told her no worries, it's really sturdy!  The next morning she text messaged me and it was the sweetest compliment!  She loved the card and a few other things.  Totally made my day! :D

You might not be able to tell but it's a HUGE tag card with lots of layers and accents!  Here's a close up of the front of the card featuring Butterfly Baby.  She's so cute!  I colored her using colors from the papers.  Finally tried my hand at some rolled roses which I have always wanted to try thanks to Mary J. She makes them look so easy to make and they do add a feminine touch.  The sentiment is from AmyR.

Another close up of the bottom of the card.  I layered some white lace ribbon and created some buttons out of paper.

Here's a peek at the top of the card.  I used C.C. Cutters mini banners and button set.  The sentiments inside the banners are all handwritten.  I debated on the word "BABY" and "MAMA" and went with BABY, although we've been saying Mama Mia I kinda thought it was a bit cheesy.  {lol}

The ribbon is from my stash and one I've hoarded for quite some time.  Love that it matched my color theme for the outside.  And here is the other banner where I handwrote "MIA".  Tied off the button with some pink and white twine.

Now for the inside of the card, I didn't have enough room for the wings here, so I cut them off so that the sentiment, AmyR, could fit.  Colored her outfit similar to the front, but a different color.

Here's Papa {Justin} & Mama {Desiree} to-be and Baby Mia. :)  I don't think they will mind me sharing.  :)

Check out the flower balloon my co-worker made!! It's huge and so darn cute!!  And do you see the pink giraffe in the corner with the column of balloons underneath?  She found that giraffe and made the column of balloons. Desiree loved it!  We all did!

It was a really lovely party and Desiree had a really good time.  So many cute baby things and you have to check out the adorable bike my crafty buddy Kathy made.  Check out her blog post here.  All of us were in awe and Desiree mentioned she didn't want to take it apart!  I wouldn't want to either.  It was that cute!!  Oh and she has more pictures to share from the shower including the cute favors she made and some of the table center pieces. :)

I haven't played in a challenge for a while, and I found one of my favorites to play in, Flutterby Wednesday's #221 theme is "New".  My card was for a new baby on the way and I used a new image to me.  There is also a fun music theme going on at Saturated Canary challenges.  I googled Butterfly Baby and found this adorable song by Angelina Perete and her daughter called Butterfly Baby!  Nope, I'm not foolin'!  {hehe}  I've never heard of it, but it's so cute and really catchy!!  You have to check it out.  Perfect song for a mommy & daughter theme.  Gonna send it to Mama Desiree and a few of my other friends. :)

For baby...

Good morning!
Hope everyone is doing well today. 
Gonna share a card that I made for a co-worker who is expecting her first baby.  She doesn't know the sex of the baby, she's going old school and waiting for the little him or her to arrive which sorta made it a bit difficult for us when it came time for the baby shower.  We were told to keep everything in the greens, yellows or whites which was pretty easy.  So what did I do?  Well I went with the standard diapers (you can never have too many) and handmade card route.  I also gave her a gift certificate to be redeemed once the baby was born for either a handmade altered frame or handmade altered letters for the baby's name. 
I started this card a while back with her in mind.  I purchased an adorable fairy set called 3 baby Fairies from Mo's Digital Pencil and was so happy that I was finally able to use one of the cuties in the set.  Here is Baby Fairy with Buttercup and her fluttery butterfly friend...

Weeee, isn't he/she adorable?  Love how Mo did the wispy hair and those adorable rosy cheeks.  I guess it is sorta leaning towards a girl, but luckily everyone else could see that it could also be for a boy, including the mama-to-be.  Whew!  hahaha.  How about you?  O my, I just want to squeeze those chubby legs!!  (hahaha)  The paper is from another awesome Simple Stories paper pad called Baby Steps.  I loved pairing up those beautiful papers with the dark brown.  

 

Here is a shot of the inside of the card.  Love that dp!  The quilt pattern was perfect!  I used a sentiment from the baby sentiments stamps set by AmyR, the sentiment on the front of the card is from the same stamp set.
