25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 4 AFC #62 Christmas

Happy Aloha Friday!!

Are you all ready for the last Aloha Friday challenge with Kitty Bee Designs of the year?!!  This bi-weekly challenge is a super easy one and coincidentally is perfect for this time of the year...

CHALLENGE #62
*CHRISTMAS*
Create a project with a colored image for the happiest time of the year!

12/4/15 - 12/18/15 (5am Hawaii Time)
Winner will be announced on 12/20/15
See the rules tab for more details.

Our incredible sponsor is: ODDBALL ART CO.

Please be sure to pop on over to the challenge blog to see all the Christmas inspirations and don't forget to leave them some love on their blogs.  Ms. Lizzy Love was generous enough to provide some of the DT with some of her really cool images.  I am playing with Big Eyed Christmas Elf Ellie. Here's my card...

This is perfect for day 4 of my 25 days of Christmas Challenge with Kathy & Linda.  As soon as I saw the sample for Ellie the Elf I wanted to do similar colors for the card.  So picking some non-traditional Christmas colors was what I did here.  Had some fun with a few Christmas dies to create the ornaments.  The patterned paper was a nice find during Black Friday at Michael's.  Love all the chalkboard patterns in black, chalk white, red and green.

Now don't forget you have until the 18th to get your entries in.  It's the last challenge of the year before we go on break, let's see how many entries we can get in!  Mahalo for stopping by, have a fabulous Aloha Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

xoxo,

KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #60

Happy Aloha Friday!!

There's a new challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenge Blog, we hope you'll join us!

Perfect Pair/Friendship
See the rules tab for more details. Entries close at 5AM (Hawaii Time) on Friday, November 20th. Winners will be announced the Sunday after the challenge closes.

Please stop by the blog to see all the wonderful projects from the team.
Here's my card featuring Star Friends from Stitch Bear.

This image is super sweet.  It comes with that sentiment and I merged them together.  I used some softer colors here and lots of white.  After coloring with Copics I fun-cut them out and popped them on to a doily.  Adding the rest was super easy, mostly using a lot of my stash.  The stars were cut with a Little B nesting die.

Ok now it's your turn!  Reminder you have two weeks to play, just make sure you check our rules before you upload.  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a terrific weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge Mid-Inspiration

Hello!

Today I'm joining the second half of the Bees in sharing some mid-inspirations for our current challenge.  Pop on over to the blog to see what other creative shares the other Bees put together.  They are totally cute!  Here's a reminder of the challenge details:

********
CHALLENGE #58 - ANIMALS
SPONSOR: BUGABOO
See the rules tab for more details.
Entries close at 5AM (Hawaii Time) on Friday, October 23rd.
Winners will be announced the Sunday after the challenge closes
********

I have two cards to share and both feature the adorable Lion Topper image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  The first one is a baby card...

I'm so happy with this one.  It incorporates some wet embossing and using some fun dies from MFT and La-La Land Crafts.  After stamping the polka dots on to the kraft cardstock I used white embossing powder to give it that really pretty embossed look.  Not sure why I haven't done this before, the white polka dots are so fun!  Will need to remember to do this in the future.  I used dark brown felt to cut out the rocking horse, it adds a really nice texture to the card.  I definitely had good fun with this one.

For the second card I made a Valentine's Day card.  It's pretty CAS and I used some elements from my extended amount of craft supplies.  Good to be able to use some of these older items.

Yep this is a pink lion!  Might as well go all out yeah?! ((hahaha))  I thought it was fun to turn this in to a Valentine's Day card, especially with the computer generated sentiment.  I was going to add a circle doily but found the heart one at the bottom of the box, I think it looks much better and it continues the Valentine theme here.

Well that's 5 different cards using the same image, not bad because now I have more cards to add to my card stash.  ((Yay))  If you haven't already done so, hope you can join us for the last week of this super easy challenge.  Remember you have until next week Friday to link up.  Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Aloha Friday, have a great day and a fantastic weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #58

Hello!

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!  Today starts a brand new challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog with Kitty Bee Designs.  Thank you all for joining us in our last button challenge!

CHALLENGE #58 - ANIMALS
SPONSOR: BUGABOO
See the rules tab for more details.
Entries close at 5AM (Hawaii Time) on Friday, October 23rd.
Winners will be announced the Sunday after the challenge closes
********

Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog to see all the animal inspirations from the Design Team using our sponsor's images or Kitty Bee Designs images.  I've got a few fun projects I came up with using the cute Lion Topper courtesy of our wonderful sponsor.

I went on the internet to see how others used this fun image and got some great ideas.  I decided to go super CAS by printing off Lion and adding a fun sentiment using Word doc.  I accidentally cut off the bottom part of the sentiment so when printed it left off the word "birthday".  No biggie, I die cut "birthday" using a Mama Elephant word font and it fit perfectly!  Cut the white panel out with an MFT stitched die and another panel with another MFT stitched die in the mustard yellow cardstock.  This card is ready to be sent to someone special.  All were adhered to the black card.  Here are a few more CAS projects I made with the same image and funny sentiments (generated in Word doc)...

Changed up the sentiment and now this card is ready to use or add to my card stash.  I had some time to do something simple with the inside of the card.

Next one up is a funny one.  I used some older patterned paper here and layered up.

And here is a peek of the inside, funny yeah?  ((hahaha))

I hope I shared some inspiration that you approve of.  Don't forget, all you need is an animal to qualify for the challenge.  If you need an image or two head over to the Kitty Bee Designs Etsy store or hop on over to our sponsor's site.  Hope you'll be able to join us.  Thank you for stopping by, have a great Aloha Friday and a terrific weekend!

Aloha Friday Challenge #56

Good morning

Before I share my post, let's take a moment to say a prayer, and to tell our loved ones how much we love them.  No matter what's going on take time to appreciate them.  Hope we all have a good day and remember those that are no longer with us.

Challenge runs from 9/11 - 9/25

I've used the fabulous and fun digital image named Dixie Daisy.  I colored her with Copics and clear Wink of Stella.  The star border is from LLLC, the sun looking die and circle are from MFT and the dp is from Webster's Pages.  The sentiment is from AmyR for CC Designs.  Kept the layout CAS.  Isn't she fun?!  Kenny K Downloads has all kinds of fun and cool images, if you play you might just win the prize!!

Make sure to stop by the Aloha Friday challenge page to see all the details for our two week challenge and while you are there pop on over to see all the DT creations.  They are rockin'!!!

Looking forward to your musical share!  Have a great day!

Aloha Friday Challenge #54 - School

Hello!

Today starts a brand new challenge at The Aloha Friday challenge blog with Kitty Bee Designs.  We have a super easy theme and if you're not playing why not?!  Here are the details:

School
Create a project with a school theme
Sponsor: Bugaboo Stamps
8/14/15 - 8/28/15

Hop on over to the blog and check out the details of the challenge and then stop over at each of the DT's blogs and leave them some love.

My card took some time to come up with.  I knew I wanted to use Spelling Bee and that's about it.  hahaha!  I decided to go with a bee theme with black and yellow.  Also thought it would be fun to make my own background paper to look like a chalkboard.  (Secret: it's just black cardstock with a white pen.)  I hand wrote all the words and had fun trying to come up with any related to school.  The alpha letters are from an MFT die and the nerdy glasses are from CC Designs cutters.  The banner is from Lawn Fawn and the stars were also from an MFT blueprints set.  I colored Spelling Bee with Copics as well as the word, "Spelling."

Looking forward to seeing your school related project(s) and if you're looking for an image stop by the Kitty Bee Designs shop where you can find some adorable images to choose from.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a fabulous weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #53 Mid-Inspiration

Hello!!

Today I'm jumping in with the Kitties over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog with Kitty Bee Designs for a mid-inspiration share.  The current challenge is a fun one; hope you've already posted your projects, if not you still have until next Friday to do so.  Here are the challenge details:

Create a project featuring an ocean or water animal
SPONSOR: 2 CUTE INK
7/31/15 - 8/14/15

For more details on the prize click on over HERE.  While you're there check out all the fun projects the Kitties designed.  Here's my card for the challenge:

Both sentiments are from an older summer AmyR by CC Designs stamp set.  I stamped one on some vellum and the other straight on to the card.  They are both heat embossed.  The stencil for the background is from Hero Arts and I picked 3 colors of Distress Ink as my color palette.  That wooden laser cut sand dollar was part of a haul I picked up at the Carson RSC at the From Cover 2 Cover booth.  They had a ton of other cool wooden accents that I picked up, wish I had gone here first to pick up some others.  But I'm glad I found these.  They are really cool.  Here's the rest of the card:

A sweet underwater scene featuring Stingray Kids.  This image is from 2 Cute Ink and I purchased it a few months ago, maybe longer?  I thought it was adorable when I first saw it.  I actually colored around the same time I bought it.  It's been sitting in my colored pile waiting for a home.  I think this is a fun display of that.  Now that I look at this I wish I had flipped the orange to the bottom and the blue to the top.  Oh well, you learn and then try it differently next time.

Stingray Kids (2 Cute Ink)

Here's a close up of the inside.  What you probably can't see is all the glitter inside, yes there is a piece of acetate, I poured in a little silk microfine glitter from Elizabeth Crafts.  Whoever receives this card will get to see all the sparkle.  Well thanks for letting me ramble on about what should have been a simple project.  hahaha!  Don't forget you have until next Friday to link up with us.  Don't forget!!  Mahalo for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #48 - Sew cute

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today starts a brand new challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  Thank you all so much for joining in our last challenge.  Hope you'll link up again as this one is a pretty easy one too.  Here are a few details for the next two weeks:

SEW CUTE
Create a project/card using real or faux stitching
Sponsor: Dillybeans

There are lots of ways to play.  You can use the many dies out there that have different stitch patterns, you can also use markers, to create a nice faux stitch.  There are just too many options, just make sure that you're following the theme.  For even more details on our sponsor, Dillybeans, and their generous prize head on over to the AFC blog and while you're there check out the rest of the Bees' inspiration.

For this challenge I thought Kitty Sewing by KBD was the purrfect image to use.  I decided to go with some dies that have stitched patterns in them, including the border die from MFT, the other stitched bracket die, By DIEzyne, to cut out my image has a nice stitched border, and the buttons border die from LLLC tied it all together.  The sentiment, swatch die and scissors are also from LLLC.  I used scraps of DCWV patterned paper to make the swatches. love the different patterns on each of the swatches.  The sentiment makes me smile.

Now it's your turn to come and play.  Link up your "sew cute" project HERE and don't forget to stop by to leave some love for my teammates.  Speaking of teammates, if you haven't heard we increased our team to include a few new crafters.  Click HERE to see who our new teammates are for the rest of the year.  We're all very excited to have them join our teams!  With that happy news shared I'll sign off.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Aloha Friday and Happy Memorial Day weekend, enjoy!!

KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #46

Hello!

There's a brand new challenge starting today at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday challenge.  The theme should be a fairly simple one so hope to see you all join.

Girly cards
Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps

Make sure to pop on over to the blog and see all the details, while you are there make sure to stop by my teammates blogs and leave them some love.  We were lucky to receive a few images to play with.  Here's the gift card holder I made using the Heels - Cheetah digi.  I can see myself using this image for a few fun cards for the future.   Anyways, let's get to my giftcard holder:

I know a few girls at work who would love this!  hahaha..  I kept it pretty CAS adding some red cardstock and goldish/brassy glitter paper.  After coloring and fun-cutting out the heels I glued everything down.  This is the back of the gc holder, here's the front:

Using a few dies, stamps and a pretty sparkly ribbon, I had no trouble putting this one together.  I did have to change the ribbon, the other one looked super sad.   (haha)  Below is the inside using more dies and sentiment stamps.  I couldn't find a gift card that was related to shoes, but when I do get one it'll look perfect inside this holder...

Hope I've inspired you to get Girly with us for the next two weeks.  Remember follow the guidelines for a chance to win the prize from our terrific sponsor, Bugaboo Digi stamps.  Click HERE for the all the details.

DT Call!  Two of our wonderfully talented teammates have decided to step down.  We need to fill their spots.  If you're interested in joining a fun group of ladies and would like to work with some adorably cute digital images we'd love to have you join us.  Term starts June 2015.  Click HERE for all the details.

Okie dokes, time to sign off and see where this Aloha Friday takes me, hopefully some place fun.  Here's wishing you a fabulous day as well!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Aloha Friday Challenge #44 - EASTER

Hello!!

Today starts a new challenge over at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday challenge and we have a super fun and easy one.  For the next two weeks it's all about EASTER!!

EASTER
Create a project with an Easter theme
Sponsor: Dillybeans

For all the details on our amazing sponsor, Dillybeans, and the prize up for grabs head on over to the challenge blog HERE.  While you are there make sure to leave some love for each of my teammates.  We were lucky enough to receive a couple Dillybean images to play with thanks to our wonderful sponsor.  Thank you Megan!!  Here's my project featuring Aidynn's bunny frame:

A very CAS design for this sweet image.  Colored with Copics I used minimal colors.  For the background behind her I colored it in then using a multi-liner pen I hand wrote Easter.  Gives it sort of a graffiti backdrop.  Matted the images to a black piece of cardstock and I was done.  I had fun with my EK border punch to make the panels in white. They lined up perfectly vertically and horizontally.  Last to go on was the handwritten sentiment and it was done.

Looking forward to seeing all the cute Easter projects for this challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Aloha Friday and a great crafty weekend!!

Hugs,

KBD AFC #42 - Things with Wings, Sleepy Time Danni

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today starts a brand new challenge over at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  We're all so thankful for everyone that joins our challenges.  We love seeing everyone's creativity and how they interpret the theme.  Starting today you'll get another chance to submit your project for this challenge:

Things with Wings
Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine

Hop on over to the blog for more details and while you are there make sure to leave some love for my fellow Bee-teammates.  For my share I found the cutest dragon image in their site.  I thought it would be fun to use him/her for today's inspiration.

From top to bottom I had a lot of fun making this card.  Figured it could be used as a baby card for my stash.  I colored with Copics using both boy & girl colors.  The clouds above were created with a Mama Elephant die and the sentiment was computer generated.  I had a lot of fun coloring the grass, the flowers and the sky.  I could definitely use more practice coloring Sleepy Time Danni, but I think for now she looks just fine.  The grass below is a combination of Copics and the Fiskars grass punch. I used 4 different layers of grass, G29 & YG82 pretty stoked with how it turned out, the grass in my yard is not as nice.  (hahaha)

Sleepy Time Danni - Lacy Sunshine

Alrighty friends, hope you'll join us for this pretty fun and easy challenge.  Again for all the deets head on over to the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day and weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #40 - Mid Inspiration

Happy Aloha Friday!

I hope you all had a great week!  Today it's time to welcome the other Bees from their vacation, yay! We're all sharing our Mid-inspirations for Kitty Bee Designs' current Valentine/Love challenge happening at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  We hope you've had a chance to add your links to your projects, but if you haven't you still have some time.  The challenge ends next Friday at 5 am HST.  Here is a reminder of the details:

VALENTINE/LOVE
Ends, Friday, Feb 13, 2015 at 5 am HST
Sponsor: 2 Cute Ink

Make sure to stop by the KBD Aloha Friday Challenge blog to see the other inspirations by my teammates.

I'm using the same image from last week, BEE Happy, which is the January Freebie from 2 Cute Ink. I had printed her off twice because I wasn't too sure if I would like using the Wink of Stella glitter brush pens as much, but in the end I did.  I did a similar color job on this bee and then decided to add a little more "fun" to this card.

"Fun" as in "fun-cutting" instead of fussy cutting.  (hahaha!)  I chose a pretty patterned paper from my stash and printed off another cheesy sentiment.  Instead of the usually banner I probably would have done I decided to go in a diagonal manner with the placement.  Another fun add.  I think my mom can add this one to her stash if she hasn't already given it away.  This bee makes me smile.

Don't forget you have a week to link up your project to the current challenge.  It ends a week from today.  This is the perfect challenge to stock up on these types of cards and you'll have them out before the big day!  Have a great Aloha Friday and a fun crafty weekend!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #40

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today starts a brand new challenge over at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  It's the first challenge back for the Bees after a long hiatus.  We've had a nice long rest and are definitely excited to be back.  We hope you'll join us for the the next two weeks, here are the details for this challenge:

Ends, Friday 2/13/15, 5am Hawaii Time
Sponsor: 2 Cute Ink

We're super excited to have one of our favorite stamp companies, 2 Cute Ink, sponsoring this challenge so you definitely don't want to miss out on submitting your project.  If you need some inspiration, make sure to stop over to the challenge blog to check out Shirl's & Tania's adorable cards featuring some 2 Cute Ink images.  If you are a part of the 2 Cute Ink mailing list you will know that they give freebies out every month.  I thought the freebie for January was perfect for this challenge so I picked it for my inspiration card...

I know my card is pretty CAS but there is a little bit of a sparkle to it that I love!  I only used 3 Copic markers to color her (shadow on her wings, her bow and her face) and the rest was colored with a couple of my Wink of Stella glitter brush pens.  I picked up the yellow and black at the Crafter's Companion warehouse sale last November and have since added a green and gold to my collection. They are pretty fun to use when you don't want to color.  At first I didn't think I'd need the other colors, but it worked out well here.   I went with a pretty cheesy sentiment, yep I just couldn't help it!  hahaha!  Here's some sparkle before I sign off...

BEE Happy - 2 Cute Ink

Now this should be a fairly easy challenge for everyone as there are so many ways to play this one out.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Have a great day and a happy crafty weekend!

Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #38 Reminder

Hello and Happy Aloha Friday!

I'm popping in today to not only share my latest Christmas card but to remind you that you have another week left to link up your creation(s) for our current challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenges at Kitty Bee Designs:

**Create a Christmas card or project using non-traditional Christmas colors (Red & Green)
Challenge closes Friday, Dec. 19th and winners will be posted on Sunday, Dec 21st.

Our amazing sponsor for this challenge is:

Make sure to stop by the blog to see the details and leave some love for my teammies, they really have outdone themselves again.  Here is the card I am sharing today...

If you saw my spotlight last Monday you'll recognize this layout and these colors.  Here's a little secret, I turned out three cards using the same layout, paper pad and dies all in the same evening.  It was actually a lot of fun and so easy to complete 3 cards all at the same time.  I picked which Kitty Bee image to use, in this case, Pup with bone (retired), used minimal coloring and in no time at all I had 3 cards to add to my completed list.  I love this layout so much I might use it for all my Christmas cards, just gonna change up the image, patterned papers and colors.

I guess the trick is to pick your layout, papers, image (optional), colors and then make an assembly line and you too can have some quick cards done up in a few hours.  The cool thing about this card is that I can take off the tag and add it to a gift bag if I wanted to and still be able to add something to the card base.  I think I'll keep it as is.  No need to ruin a good thing.  :)

Alrighty then, if you haven't had a chance to link up, go HERE so that we can come over to ohhh and ahhh.  Remember you have until next week Friday to participate in our last challenge for 2014.  I want to thank those of you who have been our loyal challengers for 2014.  You are all so awesome and we appreciate you!!   We'll see you back in 2015.

Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a terrific Aloha Friday!

Hugs,

Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #38

Happy Aloha Friday!!

Today starts a new challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenges at Kitty Bee Designs.  This will be the LAST challenge of 2014 so hopefully we'll have a ton of you joining.  The theme is pretty easy...

**Create a Christmas card or project using non-traditional Christmas colors (Red & Green)
Challenge closes Friday, Dec. 19th and winners will be posted on Sunday, Dec 21st.

Our amazing sponsor for this challenge is:
Handmade Harbour

Stop by the blog for all the details on the challenge and the prize up for grabs.  While you're there make sure to check out what the rest of the Bees created and leave them some love.  Oh my they outdid themselves for this challenge!!  Yep, they sure did! :)  Here is my project:

Kitty Bee Christmas tags

They are Christmas tags colored using non-traditional colors.  Featuring some of the adorable Kitty Bee Design images, including some of the new images, you can find in the Etsy store.  I got these as digital images and shrunk them all down to fit on to a sheet of cardstock.  I colored each one with Copics, some you'll see with traditional colors, but then I added a non-traditional color to match the challenge guidelines.

Here are a couple close-ups:

Tags set #1

FYI, I used 2 Copic markers and a white gel pen to create the Santa hat on the panda above.

Tags set #2

You'll probably see a few non-Christmassy images, thought I would add them for fun.  I learned that if you have the right sentiment, it doesn't matter if your image does not match, it's all in the presentation.  That also includes the color scheme.  hahaha!

These already have a home as I sent them as part of our 1st annual KBD DT swap to my swap partner, Michelle Nutter from Just a Nutter Stamper.

I hope you'll play with us for our last challenge of 2014.  If not for the prize then definitely for fun. :D  Well time to sign off.  Have a great Aloha Friday and a wonderful weekend!!  Mahalo for stopping by!

KBD Aloha Friday Challenge Mid-Inspiration

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today starts our mid-inspiration week over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog.  We'd love for you to stop by the challenge blog to see what the other Bees have up their crafty sleeves...  As a reminder here are the details for the current challenge:

DIES &/OR PUNCHES
SPONSOR: IMAGINE THAT! DIGIS BY KRIS
Ends: Friday, 10/24, 5am (Hawaii Time)

Super easy yeah?  Who doesn't have a punch or some kind of die in their crafty world?!  I actually know a few crafters who have tons!  hahaha!  Hope to see you playing with us if you haven't already linked up.  Now me, I do have a huge collection of both.  I love using them and there are probably several that I have yet to use.  I guess I tend to go with the ones I love best.  I'm sure I'll eventually get to the unloved ones, but for now using the familiar ones is just easy.  ** I have a question for you, how do you store your punches and dies?  I'm looking for some great tips for storage ideas.  Would love to hear what you do to keep them in order.  Thanks!

For today's inspiration I went a little overboard with my card, pulling out several dies and punches.  I used the fun image, Ladybug Boots/ Daisies Planter from Imagine That! Digis by Kris, as my focal point.  You'll love this set, so many awesome digis and ways to use them, they also include fun sentiments.

"Friends make life blossom"

I used the following dies & punches:
Stitched circles from MFT, asterik from Marvy, open leaves from LLLC, 8-petal flowers from Lifestyle crafts and lastly the floral border is from Martha Stewart.  This was a lot of fun to put together but I am by no means an expert at floral design. lol!

You have a week left to link up for a chance to win 3 digis SETS, super generous prize, from our friends at Imagine That!  Looking forward to seeing your design.  Have a happy ALOHA Friday everyone and a wonderful weekend!!
