Mariko's gift to you... Happy Birthday Sister Stamps!!

Helllllllooooo!!!

Today is day three of the Sister Stamps 1st Anniversary blog hop.  If you've just hopped from Amy's blog then you are definitely on the right path.  If not, head on over to the beginning at the Sister Stamps blog and enjoy the ride.  Each blog has a very special project geared toward this celebration and girls we are having so much fun sharing!  Now what's a hop without some fun prizes yea?  Well make sure you hop over to everyone's blog for a chance to win some secret prizes.

Today Mariko is making her way on to my blog with a bright and cheery Happy Birthday!!  When I first saw her on Jenny's blog, it was during a very special birthday blog hop for my Lollipop DT sista Kris.  When I saw how cute that little girl was, I knew that I wanted her.  hahaha.  You have to check out that adorable box she made its awesome!  Okie dokie sorry to distract you... hahaha!  Here is Mariko in all her fun orange glory...

Now you are probably thinking eh it looks like any normal CAS card yea?  Fun Happy Birthday die cut word (Thanks Jenny!) with cool white frosted accents...

or the same frosted white border on the orange dp and the yellow bubble border up the side, which btw is another cool C.C. Designs cutter die.  Not to mention the white and black oval/scalloped oval Spellbinder dies and on top the adorable Mariko, right?  Well I really wanted to do something a bit different so let's turn the card on it's side and see what I did...

Tada!!  She is actually 3-D!!  Surprise!!  hahaha!  Did this take long?  Yep it certainly did, but I love how it turned out and definitely worth it.  I think I used a total of 4 layers.  It was definitely something I've never tried before and boy you really have to have tons of patience.  I received a beautiful card from one of my swap sisters, Malise, with a similar technique.  She totally blew me away with all the details.  I will definitely share that card soon.  I've also seen this technique done on the ATS blog by Mariska.  All her projects have 3-D images and they look soo cool.

Now before you hop on make sure to come back tomorrow for the last day of this awesome four day event.  It's release day and we all have one more creation to share featuring one or all of the new releases.  Make sure to start at the Sister Stamps blog.

Alrighty, it's now time to hop on over to Nadine's lovely blog.  She's got a very special creation to share with you.  Don't forget to leave her some ALOHA.  Mahalo for stopping by!  See you tomorrow!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #31 - Miyoko is taking over!

Hellllloooo!!!

Interrupting our regulary scheduled LFF for a good reason...  It's the 2nd day of the Sister Stamps 1st Anniversary blog hop and Miyoko is taking over!  Who am I to say no to such a cutie pie?  Wasn't that an awesome first day?  All of the ladies did wonderful and amazing jobs with their projects and I am so lucky to be a part of this awesome team for such a very special celebration.

Now if you just left Amy's amazing blog then you are definitely on the right path.  If you just stopped here and would like to get in on the fun then head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and start from the beginning.
So for today's Lilo's Fun Friday and 2nd creation of this awesome hop, say hello to the very sweet Miyoko.

If you have been following the Sister Stamps blog for the past few days you should have already met Miyoko.  As soon as I saw her I thought strawberries!  I pulled that strawberry paper from one of my favorite paper pads, Berry Sweet from K&Company.  I colored her outfit based on the dp behind her. Used a Copic marker to make the hearts on the top of her kimono and my trusty white gel pen on her obi.  Used light strokes of the same colors on the cupcake then I glittered the frosting and diamond glazed the cherry on top.  Oh and I finally got the hair ala-Amy to work for her.  (hehehe)  This is by far one of my favorite colored images.

Decided to make this into an easel card.  For the base of the card I used black cs and the reverse wonky Spellbinders and one of my favorite Asian embossing folders.  See that strawberry?  It's a C.C. Designs cutter.  I colored it with Copics and a white gel pen to make it look like a real berry.  Added white pigment ink and clear embossing powder then heat set to give it that nice frosted look.  Added a strip of green underneath, another strip of strawberry dp, and handwrote the sentiment, "You're so berry sweet!"

Mahalo for stopping by and remember, make sure you leave some love on everyone's blog.  We're all excited to hear what you all think. :)  Come back tomorrow for day three of this four day party all starting at the Sister Stamps blog culminating to the big release day on Sunday, July 1st.  For a full list of shops and online stores please head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and check out the list of vendors on their sidebar.

I hope you like today's share.  Now on your way to Nadine's blog.  She's waiting for you to come see what she's made for today.  Don't forget to leave her some love.   Happy hopping!

Have a berry wonderful day!!

Takeo, Tag your it!

Well hello there!!

If you've stopped here from Amy's blog you are definitely on the right track.  If you just stopped by to see what this girl has been up to today then you are in for a treat!!  You have just stumbled upon the first day of the Sister Stamps 1st Anniversary blog hop & Release #8 party!  Want to get in on the fun?  Then you should definitely start at the beginning where all things kawaii (cute) start.  That would be at the Sister Stamps blog.  Why?  All of the past guest designers & a few lovely special guests will be sharing our inspirations using the release #8 images.  I also heard from a reliable source one of our blog hop sistahs, Debi, will be giving away stamps during the four day blog hop!

Now, in case you get lost, start at the Sister Stamps blog:  http://sisterstamps.blogspot.com/

I was so excited and happy to be asked by Jenny to help with this celebration.  Can you believe it's already been a year?  Seems like yesterday we were oohing and ahhhing over these adorable images introduced by Jenny and Denise.  Congrats to Sisters Stamps for this wonderful accomplishment.  As you know Sister Stamps are one of my favorite images to play with.  So it was definitely easy to say yes to Jenny. (hehe)  For my day one share, I took a page out of Amy's book and created a simple tag using some fun dp (Simple Stories Happy Day) and the adorable little boy with the balloons, Takeo.  I have always loved how Amy uses paper to her advantage to create beautiful scenes.  Well mine's by no means beautiful, but I do think it's cute.  (hehe)

I really enjoyed making this tag.  I think the paper took out all the guess work for me, which is such a treat sometimes, yea?  I edged the whole tag with cocoa pigment ink by Color box, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then heat set it to give it that old distress, yet glossy look.

Mahalo for stopping by and remember make sure you leave some love on everyone's blog.
Now it's time to hop on over to Nadine's blog.  She's always got something up her sleeve and I'm positive you will love it!!

Happy hopping!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Here's Akemi

Hello everyone!!

Here is the last of the cards I made for our booth at the Rubber Stamp Convention in March but didn't get to share until now.  Using the images from Sister Stamps release #6 here is Akemi with Daba and that familiar little bunny.  I think it's the most colorful out of the three and I really had fun creating the scene.

All the pink you see was paper-pieced with scraps of cherry blossom dp.  The rest of the image was colored with Copics.  I used several different dps for the grass, flowers, clouds and butterflies and they were all glued on to the kraft cs.  I remembered seeing a similar scene on Karen's blog and thought it would be fun to case.  I didn't add a tree, but the rest of the elements are present.

Now don't forget to stop by the Sister Stamps blog because Jenny has been showcasing the new images for Release #8.  Today you get to meet Takeo.  I already went by and he is a cutie pie!  That's it for me.  Talk to you all soon and Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne

Masa

Hello!

O, did you all stop by the Sister Stamps blog today?  Jenny is at it again with another cute project featuring Miyoko from release #8.  Another must have for me!

I'm back to share another card from Sister Stamps release #6 that I neglected to share.  This one was really fun for me to do.  It was very CAS and I really love how it turned out.  This card features Masa and a cute bunny.  I think the bunny is very curious and wonders what is the human boy trying to give to me? hahaha!  Anyhoos, here is the second sample card I made for our booth at the Rubber Stamp Convention back in February.

As you can see, very clean and simple yea?  I stamped Masa and the bunny on to the bottom of the cardstock and then colored them both up.  I added grass and that's all.  I did add some score lines to the opposite sides to give it a little something, but my intention was to keep it just Masa and his bunny friend.

Alrighty, tomorrow I will be back to share the last card I made using Akemi from release #6.  Mahalo for stopping by today!!  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Leanne

Playing catch up with SS - All in one Basket

Hi Everyone!
I know it's a shocker!  hehehe...  I'm so sad that I haven't been coming around to blogs and seeing what you all have been doing.  I really hope to get back to it real soon.

For now, I wanted to play catch up with a few Sister Stamps cards I made using stamps from release #6.   I realized that I never posted them here.  I have three to share so I think I will pre-post so it seems like I've been busy.  hehehe... I used these as samples for our booth at the Rubber Stamp Convention in March.  Unfortunately, I don't remember any of the Copic markers I used, but I might remember some of the papers.

BTW, make sure to head on over to the Sister Stamps blog to see previews of  release #8.  Today Jenny is showcasing a really cute giftcard holder featuring the adorable Mariko!  I think you will all want her.  I know I do.  :)

Here is the first card I made using the adorable Daba...

The basket is a created using a giant punch I bought from Hanko Designs (a long time ago).  I kept the negative part and used it as a frame for the basket.  Used a sheet of some bright fun dp and a very small oval punch for the eggs.  I think Daba is very happy to have found all the eggs to put in his basket.  Hopefully some of them are chocolate or have a fun prize inside.  Wouldn't that be wonderful?  :)

Okie dokie, tomorrow I will share a CAS card I made using Masa.  Hope you are all having a lovely Monday!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #30 - Hau' oli la Hanau!

Hey everyone!!

O*M*G!! I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged!!  I hope everyone has been doing well and enjoying the summer.  I've been very busy with some other things that will be shared in a month or so.

I also see that I've gained a few new friends!!  Hello and welcome to my blog! *:)  I hope to start back to blogging and crafting on a regular basis soon.  I do have something to share tho.  YAY!!  hahaha!

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday #30, I'm popping in to share a special birthday wish for Lollipop DT gal Cyndi Kim!  Head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog to see who's sharing this special wish and then jump on over to Cyndi's blog to wish her a Happy Birthday.

I know Cyndi's been missing Hawaii since she moved to Las Vegas so I wanted to give her a card that brings a little bit of the island to her.  I chose one of my favorite TGF stamps, Fleur Anya, then picked some really fun island print papers from Sandy Lion as well as some floral punches to embellish.

I can't believe I waited this long to post this card!  I actually made this at the beginning of the month was debating on whether to send it out or keep it.  But I knew I wanted it to go to Cyndi as soon as the last flower was glued on.  Doesn't she make you smile?

With this picture I wanted to show the white embossing that I did on the edges of the blue paper to give it not only a nice texture but a waterlike feel.  This is super easy to do.  I took a white pigment ink pad and using the sides of the blue paper edged it.  Once I was satisfied with the amount I sprinkled clear embossing powder on top and heat set it with my heat gun.  I also did the same to the 5-petal flowers.

Well Cyndi, I wish you all the best on your birthday my friend.  Lots of hugs, and hope you get to eat some ono grinds.  Many blessings!!  Hau' oli la Hanau!!

I found a couple challenges I could add this to:
TGF Retro Fresh Challenge - Sunshine & Summer
ATS Challenge - Embossing

Mahalo to you for stopping by.  Have a fantastic weekend!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Lollipop Crafts Summer Challenge #1 - Uh Oh!

Hey everyone!
Hope you had a great weekend!  This week over at Lollipop Crafts we have a different challenge for you.  With summer here, we are going to taking a little break, but we couldn't just leave ya without something to do right?  So for the whole month of June the Summer Challenge #1 is to create a card with flowers as your focal point.  This month's sponsor is Sparkle Rubber Stamp Creations!!  The T-Team will bring you more on our awesome sponsor on Wednesday, so make sure to stop by the LC blog to see what's up for grabs.  For today, make sure to stop by the LC blog and see what the A-Team created to inspire you.

Here's my card, but unfortunately the flowers that were the focal point got squashed by that cutie, Silver.  (lol)  He's a bad little pup, but you can't really be too mad at him can you?  I surely can't!  hahaha!  It really was a lovely bouquet too...  I had a lot of fun making this.  The fun papers and the black contrasts gave that dp a really nice pop.  The white daisy flower border was a fun addition.  Kept this one a bit CAS.

Now don't forget you have a whole month to play a long with us.  Plenty of time to choose your papers and images.  Just keep in mind that it must be a card and the main focus should be all about the flowers, unless you find an irresistably cute puppy in the middle of it all.  I don't think anyone would mind.  lol!  I had a bit of fun with the back of the card, using the same border die and the flip side of the dp to create this fun "signature".

Okie dokie, your turn!!  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a lovely Monday!!
;)

Update:

Kimono Marci for Momma

Hello!
Woo hoo!  Two days in a row for me!  Yay!  hahaha!!  It's been tough to get any cards done lately.  Work has been pretty hectic and all I wanna do when I get home is either read or watch tv.  I'm slowly finding my groove so to speak and hopefully will be able to get more crafting done this weekend.  So for today I wanted to share the card I made for my momma.  She is now officially retired!!!  She's not sure yet what she's going to do, but I think sleeping in will probably take priority for now.  lol!  Let's see how long that lasts.  Hopefully she will decide to take a long over due vacation back to Hawaii.  We shall see, in the meantime I think she will definitely enjoy doing nothing for a few weeks. :)

This cutie pie is Kimono Marci from La-La Land Crafts.  I think she might be one of my favorites from the last release.  So I colored her up with Copics in shades of browns and greens.  I printed her on white cs (Neenah) then used a circle Spellbinder to cut her out. Left the die on and using Distress inks (wild honey & crushed olives) created the frame around her.  Love how it makes her "glow" and I love the white border around her.  I love adding a really dark contrasting coloring as an accent and this time I used black.  Added that beautiful green/gold origami paper, green & yellow paper roses and some gold cs.  The other new things I've added are the roses and the black floss.  The layout is the Deconstructed Sketch #54, well sort of.  I just realized I missed a panel, but the rest of it looks about right. lol...  I actually love how this one turned out and my mom was pretty excited to add it to her collection.

I kept her kimono really simple, no designs or flourishes and had fun with her umbrella and hair.  Well I better get to bed, it's going to be a movie day again, most likely MIB3.  My mom thinks Snow White and the Huntsman is going to be too dark.  I guess I'll have to go watch it on my own.  lol...  Have a great Saturday... hoping if we get back early I can continue working on some crafty stuff.  Take care and Mahalo for stopping by!
;)

Hugs,
Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #29

Happy Friday!
Popping in real quick to share a card for today's Lilo's Fun Friday.  But first I wanted to say Thank you to everyone that have been faithful visitors leaving me lovely comments.  That you come here to see what I'm doing (even though it hasn't been much lately) really is appreciated as are all the wonderful comments you leave.  So from the bottom of my heart... MAHALO!!!

Now on to today's card featuring Tricycle Marci from La-La Land Crafts.  I have another colored MIC background that I printed on kraft and colored with some Copics and Distress inks.  The background image is called Hilly Lane

I printed it out pretty big because Tricycle Marci is a pretty good sized stamp and I wanted to make sure she fit on the lane.  Now the grass doesn't look as great as it could have, but it was a huge space to try to fill.  I bet it would look a lot brighter on white cs.  After coloring Marci, I fussy cut her out and popped her onto the lane.  Isn't she a cutie?  ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you are all having a lovely Friday and are looking foward to a fun weekend.  Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lilo
