Lollipop Crafts #78 Anything Goes

Hey everyone!!!
Hope you all had a great weekend.  It was a crazy week at work for me, so I am barely getting around to visit.  I also noticed I have some new friends!  Welcome to my blog!  I hope you have fun here, thanks so much for popping in!

This week is another new challenge at Lollipop Crafts.  We don't have a sponsor but you can still be chosen for our top 3.  This week's theme is ANYTHING GOES!  That is definitely an easy one, yea?  Make sure to stop on over at the LC blog to check out the DT's makes.  Have fun with it and hope to see some of your creations this week.

After sharing some new releases it's nice to go back to inking up some un-inked stamps.  I looked through my C.C. Design images and boy do I have quite a few that I haven't used.  I chose Swiss Pixie Hello Birgitta for this card, but instead made it in to an I miss you card.  Did some paper piecing and used a simple sketch I've used in the past.  I definitely had fun with it.

Had fun with the border surrounding Birgitta.  Used DI in Spun Sugar, for the border, and used an old floral stamp in the same color to add a fun background/border to the frame.  The dp are scraps that I've been trying to use up.  The doily is from Joann's and I used a white satin bow to tie it all together.  The sentiment is from AmyR, Mixed Messages.

Alrighty, time for me to sign off.  Remember to use a direct link to your post for our challenges and have fun!!!  Mahalo for stopping by today!

Hugs,
Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #25 - A Special Blog Hop...

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!!
Today for Lilo's Fun Friday #25, I get to hop along as a guest designer with the Friday Inspiration team from La-La Land Crafts!!  I am so lucky & excited to be amongst another terrific group helping to showcase the new stamps released on Monday.  I'll post a list of all the DT blogs for today at the end so make sure you leave everyone some love, they all deserve it.  You are really going to enjoy this hop. Thanks for all your lovely comments from my Monday post.  I appreciate all the love I received.  Now don't forget to head on over to the LLLC blog for all the details on how to win some stamps and then head on over to the LLLC store to purchase your images if you can't wait.

If you came here from Arlene's blog then you are on the right track, if you just popped in just because and you want a chance to win some LLLC new release images then head on back to the beginning at the LLLC blog

So today I get to showcase the adorable Kimono Marci.  She comes with a bonsai tree and a sentiment.  For today I used Marci by herself.  I think she's my favorite out of the group.   Here's another simple card made by me.

See, pretty simple, yea?  Isn't she pretty?  I love her two buns and the blank canvas of her kimono.  I originally had colored her kimono simple and decided to add some decoration to it (at the last minute).  Not bad, could use some work but I like it for now.  Used one of my favorite washi papers as the color scheme for this card.  The card base is black cs that I ran through my Cuttlebug using the cherry blossom Asian embossing folder.  Love that folder, it's huge and can cover up a large piece of cs.  The next layer up is a black & gold patterned paper I found in my stash.  Next up is more black cs and that beautiful washi paper.  The sentiment is from my blogging buddy, Jenny, it was perfect for my card.

So for her kimono I used one of the darker colors to make simple flowers in varying sizes, kinda wanted to get a fading affect into the material.  At the bottom where the color gets lighter I added tiny flowers and some black scroll work.  Definitely going to practice and try to make it a little more visible, especially the faded out parts.  Alrighty, time for you to head on over to Jeannette's blog.  She's got a beautiful sample she's excited to share with you.  And just in case you get lost along the way here is today's line-up:

FBW #200 - A very special Deconstructed Sketch

Hey everybody!!

As most of you know by now, Danni has decided that today will be the last day of challenges at Flutterby Wednesday.  I wanted to say Mahalo to Danni for being so kind by asking me to be a guest designer and then eventually a team member with this fantastic team of talented ladies who love all things with wings.  It's been such a wonderful experience and working with Danni has been awesome.  I won't be going far from her, she's one of my go-to daily blogs that I visit and we are FB buddies so she's not getting rid of me that easily.  lol..  So for our last Flutterby Challenge #200, we're going out on top with a bang and this amazing Deconstructed Sketch by Jen Shults.

How cool is that?!  Now we want you all to participate and let's see how many cards we can link up.  Feel free to link up as many as you like just remember to add your butterfly, fairy or angel.  Make sure to head on over to the Flutterby Wednesday blog and hop on over to all the DT's blogs and see what they created for our last challenge.  We are all definitely going out with a bang!  :)

I changed up my card because I was inspired to make two.  For the first card I didn't use a colored image.  Just papers, a chipboard piece and a sentiment.  It's my first Mother's Day card and I love how it turned out.  Hope you do too.  (Sorry I did post this earlier, but changed it up, the butterfly is different.)

The dp is from Heidi Grace and one of my new favorites!!  The butterfly is chipboard from K&Company and the sentiment is from AmyR Stamps, All About Mom.

For the second card I printed out Heartfelt Love Wryn from Tiddly Inks to make a Thank you card.  I used the same Heidi Grace dp & K&Company chipboard butterfly, just flipped it.  I hand wrote the words in the hearts.

I'm planning to send this second card to Danni as a Thank you for letting me be a part of this really amazing team.

Wow, can't believe how fast it came, but it's been a total blast for me.  Thanks to Danni again and I wanted to also say Thank you to the DT for all their support, encouragement and inspirations.  Thank you ladies for your friendship and for making these past months so much fun.  I will definitely be seeing you all in blogland.  Alright, I really hope you get to play with us for the last sketch and challenge for Flutterby Wednesday.  And make sure to leave some love for the DT, they've been so amazing.

Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne

LLLC Inspiration Monday - New Release Showcase

(This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my Lollipop Crafts post please scroll down.)

Today I get to hop along with the La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday team to help showcase 14 new stamps being released today!!  If you've come from Kim's blog then you are on the right track.  If not, then head on over to the La-La Land Crafts blog to start at the beginning and get all the details.

Today I'm showcasing Marci with Lantern.   She comes with a string of lanterns and a sentiment.  I hope you like.  :)

For my card I only used Marci and the sentiment.  I created my own background paper with a background stamp (Sku#447) and some distress inks.  Also used the lantern embossing folder from Cuttlebug.   I masked parts of Marci so that I could use the same RN background stamp to add some fun details to her outfit.  I stamped it in rich cocoa and then used a white gel pen.  After I colored the lantern I drew in some lines and added dots and flowers using a combination of Copics and white gel pen.  For the background, I embossed kraft cs with the lantern EF then used distress inks on the lanterns to give it a bit of pop.  Once I was satisfied with the color I decided to fussy cut them out and layer it over the bg paper.  (I only used two of the strings, the other one is on the inside of the card.)  This was all matted on to dark brown cs.  I added a sheer orange ribbon and for the sentiment kept it clean and matted it on to brown cs as well.

I bet you are all wondering who else is in this 14 stamp release extravaganza yea?  Well without further ado here they are.  Let's welcome the newest Marcis and Lukas to the family as well as some new background images:

Baby, Baby, Baby - Lollipop Crafts #77

Happy Monday!!!

This is the first of two posts I have to share with you today.  First up is this week's Lollipop Crafts challenge #77.  This week it's all about babies!  We want you to make a baby CARD.  Boy, girl, twins, anything for a baby.  Now the key word is CARD so make sure if you want to be considered in our top 3 or the winner of this week's prize you must make a BABY CARD.  Head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog and see what my DT sisters have created.  It will definitely make you want to say awwww, so cute!!  :)

I made this card for two of my friends who were expecting a baby boy.  I found this adorable image called Michael, at Mo's Digital Pencil shop and fell in love!  My card is just the image with a few clouds in the background that was matted onto some cardstock.  I figured the image itself did not need any sort of embellishment.  Hope you like.

Isn't this the cutest image?  He looks like he's in that deep sleep that we all wish we could have.  I need me a cloud!!  (hahaha)  So I colored him up with Copics and the clouds were randomly sponged with Distress ink (tumbled glass).  I matted this onto white cs, gold cs, and then a white card.  I added an embossed frame using my Scorpal to the card to break up that white space.

After coloring his wings and halo with gold tones I used Stickles to give it a bit of a nice sparkle and texture.  I seriously would love to have a cloud to sleep on!  (hahaha)  We hope you play along with us this week.  Our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and the T-Team will have a sponsor spotlight on Wednesday.

Now if you aren't too busy come back later because I'll be hopping along with the Monday Inspiration team from La-La Land Crafts.  You are all welcomed to join in the fun.  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #25

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today's LFF #25 is a card I made for Mary J who was the winner of my 500th post RAK.  I had a lot of fun making this seriously CAS card.  I decided on a shape card since Mary loves to make them.  If you haven't been by her blog you should definitely check it out.  She has some amazing creative talent and awesome creations.  Hope you like it Mary!

I used Sister Stamps, Yoshimi, as she was the perfect size for this small card.  I die cut white cs (Neenah) but left the die on, stamped Yoshimi in the middle, masked her, inked up a Kodomo Inc stamp called Flower clouds with Distress Inks, Stormy Sky, then using the same color distressed the inside around the edge with Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass.  Once I was done inking up the inside I removed the die and voila a nice white border.  Next I stamped Yoshimi on white cs (Xpress It this time) and colored her up with Copics using soft pastel colors.  You can't tell but the flowers on the fans are the same colors as her kimono.  The rest I left white except light pink line and using my Scor-pal scored some lines on the fan.  I also folded them on the scored lines to make it look like the fans have dimension.  (Well I tried!)  Since I already stamped her on the Neenah paper I fussy cut her including the fans then glued her down.  I used some scrap twine and did another triple loop bow and added a half pearl.  Lovin' this embellishment!  This was all mounted on a pink Tsumugi cs that was cut with the largest Blossom Spellbinder die I have.   All done! :)

Alrighty, I hope you liked my share for today as much as I enjoyed making it.  Can't get enough of these images, they are really too cute and fun to color.  Mahalo for stopping by today, have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

Hugs,
Lilo

happy spring

Hello and welcome to my new friends.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Today I have a cute little card to share.  I saw this really fantastic tutorial on Pam Sparks blog a few weeks ago that I wanted to try.  Who knew it would be so easy and fun to do.  I didn't completely follow the full tutorial, but I did take a few things away from it.  I especially love the wood grain on the kraft cs fence.  I used one of the adorable Birgitta's from C.C. Designs, Sweetheart Birgitta.  This is the first time I've inked her up which means I am still on track to ink up my un-inked stamps.  Not sure why I waited so long to use her, she's well, a sweetheart!  (lol)

+
I was so happy when I received my C.C. cutter dies.  I used the fenceflower border, and the grass border for my scene.  This also is sort of a case of Pam's card.  I used Distress inks to color the flowers, grass, butterflies and fence.  Added white suns to the centers of the flowers.  Birgitta is colored with Copics and in a rainbow of colors.  The white clouds were sponged on to kraft cs with a stencil (punched cloud and it's negative) and white Color Box pigment ink.  The sentiment is from the new So Wordy set by AmyR.  I really love how this one turned out.

Alrighty, Mahalo for stopping by today!  Hoping you all have a lovely day!!

Lollipop Crafts Sponsor Spotlight #76

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Hope you all are doing well today.  Yes, I have two posts today!  This one is for Lollipop Crafts Sponsor spotlight on Kitty Bee Designs.  For my Flutterby Wednesday post please scroll down.  :)

This week we have a new sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs.  Here is a little info on Kitty Bee and her designs:

"Kitty Bee Designs" is proud to render its original artwork of whimsically cute characters with seasonal themes, that you can't help but fall in love with. Being born and raised in the most beautiful place in the world, Hawaii has so much to offer. Being known as the 'melting pot of the Pacific', Hawaii is a proud host of the many cultures and traditions all in one place. Kitty Bee Designs is slowly introducing our island favorites to the national main stream, sharing a little bit of Hawaii. An artist at heart, and a familiar fixture at local craft fairs, there is never a slow moment in the studio. With a wonderful family with three teens and three kitties, there is never a dull moment."
Make sure to hop on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog today to see what the rest of the A-Team created using images from Kitty Bee Designs.  There are so many KAWAII images it was really hard to choose just one for me, so I had to choose a few which I bought.  (Always willing to support our small businesses.  Click HERE to go to my Easter post to see one of the other images I bought)  I used the adorable Bath Time Pup digi for my card today.  When I purchased this image I was thinking it would be perfect for a baby card.  I have a quite a few co-workers who are preggers and I know that I will need to stock up on these kinds of cards to either use or distribute to those who might not have time to run next door to buy one.

After printing him out on Neenah white cs I used a circle Spellbinder to cut him out.  Now normally I would keep the die in place and use some distress ink to frame him out giving the image a nice white border, but this time I decided to try something I learned at my Basic Copic class a few years ago.  (Always nice to try new/old things.)  After coloring up the parts I wanted colored I used my 0 marker and went around the edges trying to saturate it enough so that when I did put color down it would give a fading effect.  I went back in with BG000 and from nearest to the image I started flicking outward.  It might not look like it, but it does look like it's fading IRL.  (lol)  Chose a couple of my favorite boy themed papers and kept the layout pretty simple.  The sentiment is an AmyR one.  Lastly to give the suds a more real effect I used baby blue stickles and on the bubble (circles) I used diamond glaze.  O!  And I also diamond glazed his nose. hehehe.

Well that's all I got today.  Plenty right?  lol!  Have you entered your cards in to this week's challenge?  If not, you still have time.  Go here to upload your card or project and remember to follow the challenge details and upload a direct link to your post else you won't be considered for this week's prize or our top 3.  Mahalo for stopping by today for two posts!  Hope you all have a lovely Wednesday!

Hugs,
Leanne

FBW #199 - Case Danni's first card!

Hello!!!

This is the first of two posts for me today.  For my Lollipop Sponsor spotlight post scroll up.  :)

Thanks to those of you who played in the Flutterby Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge last week. There were a lot of awesome and inspirational creations, great job everyone!!  Today is a new and special challenge over at Flutterby Wednesday. Challenge #199 is to case FBW owner Danni's very first card!  Head on over to the FBW blog to see Danni's first card, then click on the side bar to check out how each of the DT case'd her card.  You'll also want to head on over to read an important update regarding the Flutterby Wednesday challenge blog and you will also find the links to the rest of the DT's blogs.

Here's my case of Danni's card.  I kept the colors and layout the same.  Several different elements here.  I used two new butterfly stamps from C.C. Designs.  Stamped one with two different Distress Inks, then the other one I  inked up a darker color and then fussy cut the wings and the body of the butterfly.  A lovely floral stamp for the background.  I also used a nice script as a background for the butterfly to rest on.  I added two silver stones and some white dots on the image itself and done, easy peasy!

Now it's your turn.  Can't wait to see what you make and don't forget to use a butterfly, angel or fairy on your creations.  Mahalo for stopping by today!!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Having fun with cranes

Hidee Ho!  It's been a couple days since I last posted so thought I'd pop in real quick and share a card I made a while back.  Now normally I would probably share this on Friday, but I have something else scheduled for that day.  This gal has waited long enough I think.  lol...

I made this as one of the sample cards for the last stamp show.  This is Yoko from Sister Stamps.  As you can see I had a bit of fun with her crane.  I consider this a CAS card what do you think?  Used the largest of the reverse wonky rectangle Spellbinder dies for the main image.  Left the die on and stamped Yoko then I used DI brick red and sponged all around her and the original crane.

Can you tell which one it is?  Just follow the string to the end. (woo hoo interactive post - lol)  Colored her with Copics as well as a couple of the cranes.  The other ones I paper pieced using the same washi paper as you see in the background.  Mounted it onto white cs and then all onto black Tsumugi cs.  The border was from an EK Success border bunch that I punched on both sides.  Sometimes that gets tricky, you have to make sure you don't trim too much of the strip of paper and then you have to remember which side to start your punch on.  O yea, I handwrote that sentiment.  Besides skin color I think I only used 5 different Copic markers here.  Just tried to see if I could get away with not using a lot of markers for this one.

Well, that's all for today.  If you have time stop by tomorrow when I will have not 1, but 2 posts.  One for Flutterby Wednesday challenge #199 and a sponsor spotlight post for Lollipop Crafts.  Mahalo for stopping by today!  Hope you are all having a lovely day/evening.

Just buzzin' by...

...to say Hi!

Morning everyone!  A big shout out to my new friends!  Welcome and I hope you enjoy yourselves here.

Went to bed last night with the rain and woke up to beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies!  Love it!

This is going to be a quick one.  Lots of non-crafty stuff going on today, so best get to this...

Here's CC Lula from The Greeting Farm.  I'm not sure, but I don't think I've ever inked her up before.  So this is in keeping with my crafty resolution to give those older uninked stamps some love.  I really had fun coloring her up.  I think I would have reversed the colors on the top, but alas I just left it.  Not my best work, but I'm happy with it, especially her hair.  Tried my hand at mixing pp, these are my scraps from other projects.  I drew the honeycomb and punched the bees out with a regular hole punch.  The sentiment is handwritten.

Okie dokie, time to get movin'.  Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend!!

Lilo's Fun Friday # 24 - Happy Birthday Chuck!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Aloha Friday my friends!!  Whew! It's the end of the week and we made it!  hahaha!!

For today's LFF #24, I wanted to share a card I made using one of the new release boy stamps from Sister Stamps and his name is Yoshi.  I have a wonderful cousin named Chuck.  You might remember that he and I did a crafty project back in February for his cast members.  He works for the Happiest Place on Earth and boy does he take his job seriously.  He's the nicest and friendliest person you'll ever meet and if you're lucky enough to run in to him at Disneyland he'll try his best to make your dreams come true.  Just ask my friend Sandie.  As many times as I've been to Disneyland, he's always willing to come and meet up with me and my friends, even after an 8-hour shift starting at 6 am!  He truly represents the Aloha spirit and all my friends want to be related to him.  lol..  I love him to death and thankful that I can drive up to see him or visa-versa and we can just hang out.  He's got a contagious smile and laugh and his hugs are wonderful.  He's one of the coolest guys I know.  His birthday was on Sunday, so I wracked my brain on a card for him.  It had to be bright and fun just like him.

I recently got the new boy stamps from Sister Stamps release #7.  Did you all see them?  Well if you haven't, you must get over to the Sister Stamps blog to see them, there you will find links to vendors that sell them online.  Out of the three I thought Yoshi would be fun to work with.  I pictured him tumbling, how to do that?  Hmmmm, first I stamped him 3 times and colored him up and then positioned him as if he were doing a cartwheel. Once I was satisfied with his positioning I chose some bg paper.  Thought him tumbling outside would be fun so I used up some scraps of green paper and made grass.  I used scissors to create rolling hills, then I used my finger nail to distress the top so you could see the two levels.  Using two strips of that paper I glued down one strip above the other, the bottom one I used dimension tape and turned it in to a 2-D (yep not enough for a 3-D rating lol) level.  Used my Fiskars small cloud punch and cut out some in white, then Distressed the clouds with Ranger DI in tumbled glass.  I used kraft cs for the main part of the card.  Love using that color, makes the card look really warm. Pretty CAS yea?  This was really fun to make.  Hope he likes it and smiles when he sees it.

Did something really simple on the inside.  Recognize the song?  I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!  From the Pointer Sisters!  Thought that was a fun sentiment to use for the front and inside.

Mahalo for stopping by today and for all your lovely comments through out the week. Really appreciate it!
Happy Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Just Fairy Fun

Hey everyone!

Just poppin' in to share a fun card I made using the reverse wonky rectangle Spellbinders and one of the new Wryns from Tiddly Inks.  Meet Wryn - Fairy Friends.  You can purchase her here along with a bunch of other Wryns that were just released last week for the Tiddly Inks 2 year anniversary in their shop located here

This set also comes with two butterflies and a snail.  I kept it pretty CAS.  The colors are Spring like and fun.  The toadstool was fun to color, I diamond glazed parts of it and how cool that it looks so shiny.  I also diamond glazed the shell on the snail, who is attempting to crawl up the side of the toadstool.  (lol)  I added a stick pin with a funky bead and stuck it into the double bow ribbon on the side.

Okie dokie, that's all I have to share today.  Mahalo for stopping by!.  Hope you have time to stop by tomorrow for another Lilo's Fun Friday share.  Until then, have a good one!!

Hugs,
Leanne

FBW #198 - Surprise!

Hi Everyone!

How is everyone doing today?  Great I hope! :)  Wanted to say Thank you to everyone that played in our FBW Anything Goes challenge last week and hope you all enjoyed our makes with our sponsored images from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.   Thanks again to Sparkle for sponsoring!!

This week at Flutterby Wednesday we have a really fun challenge.  We want you to make a birthday card!!  Don't forget your butterfly, fairy or angel.  For more inspiration please visit the rest of the team and make sure to leave them some love:  Anna, Danni, Harriet, Karen, KristieLynette, Mary, Michelle VP, Michelle, NancyPeggy and Suzanne!

For today's card I wanted to use a stamp I haven't inked up.  I have tons of those and I feel really bad about that.  One of my goals is to ink those forgotten stamps up and put them on a card!  I looked through my Sweet November stamps and thought Piper's Surprise would be the perfect image for a birthday card.  Shame on me for not inking her up before today.

Paired her up with one of my favorite stacks, Berry Sweet from K&Company.  I also did some paper piecing to save time and to jazz up my card a little bit.  Gave Piper some pink hair and yellow wings for a different look.  Also wanted to keep her coloring similar to the rest of the card.  I had fun making that triple bow with the pink & white twine.  I thought that big half pearl was a nice touch.  Kept the layout pretty simple and that butterfly is actually part of the bg paper. So sad I had to cover most of it up, but really glad I had enough of the scrap left over that I got to cut out that bigger butterfly at the top.  A handwritten sentiment and some fun photo corners and it was done!

Hoping you get a chance to play in this week's challenge.  We don't have a sponsor this week, but you have a chance to be in our top 5 and who can resist making a birthday card and wanting to share it with everyone?  Just remember to add your fairy, butterfly or angel.  Mahalo for stopping by!!  I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!  Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Lollipop Crafts #75 - ATG Easter

Hello everyone!!

Hoping you all had a wonderful weekend and got to spend some quality time celebrating Easter with your loved ones.  Today, Lollipop Crafts is celebrating Easter Monday for our friends in Canada, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Australia, and European counties.  Our team captain Tammy lives in Canada so we salute her and those of our friends across the globe celebrating today.  With that in mind, our challenge this week is Anything Goes with an Easter theme.  Please stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog to see what the rest of the LC ladies have to share.

This is the Easter/Spring card that I sent to my March swap sister, Dena, who just happens to be one of my LC sisters (lol).  It features the adorable Easter Anya (retired) from The Greeting Farm

Ta-da!!   Isn't her expression the cutest?  I've always loved her, she's so sassy and yet cute at the same time.  She makes me smile each time I see her.  The card is a gate fold and I used a sheet of MME Happier dp for the panels.  I went with greens and pinks and touches of yellow for this one.  Used the beaded oval Spellbinder and distressed the inside with DI in crushed olives (one of my favorites).  I love how the ovals look like eggs!  (Simple pleasures my friends)  I stamped Anya on a separate sheet of cs and colored her with Copics, fussy cut her out and mounted her in the center of the card.  I added the paper flower to her hair with a sun and a little bit of bling because she just wasn't girly enough.  (I'm kidding!!  lol)  The pink and white polka dot ribbon holds it all together.

The sentiment is handwritten and mounted on to a scrap of dp from the same paper pad.  I haven't used flowers in a while so I thought the pink and green combo would be a nice touch.  It's also holding the sentiment closed.  I would not hire me as a florist.  (hahaha!)

Okay, now it's your turn!  Let's see those Easter themed projects or cards fill up the LC blog this week.  There is no sponsor, but we are going to choose a top 3.  Mahalo for stopping by, have a great week!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the Copics I used.  If I remember I'll be sure to update.
