It's a Girl! It's a Boy!

Hello!

Today I have two CAS cards to share.  Not sure if I like how they turned out or not.  They seem so well too CAS! hahaha... Anyhoos, here they are...

These two are from the Build-a-Onesie Boy & Girl stamp sets from the Greeting Farm.  Had an idea of creating two Polaroids with the onesies in each and a couple other sentiment and fun accent stamps from the same sets.  The paper is MME.  Each of the images seen here, including the bow on the girl onesie (left side) and the buttons on the boy onesie are part of the stamp set as well.  There are a ton of small sized stamps in both sets and you can have tons of different variations.

Here's a close up of each card.  It's a Girl first:

And now It's a Boy...

Now that I see them here they don't look so bad.  Think I'll make more of these as they were really easy to create and like I said there are so many different combinations that come to mind with all the little stamps.  Think I'll enter them in to the Retro Fresh Monthly challenge (Polka Dots and/or Plaids) over at the Greeting Farm.

Thank you for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Aloha with Ani

Good morning!

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was spent mostly at home either on the computer or at my desk (the dining room table) making cards.  I did quite a few this weekend including some CAS cards for Mother's Day that I'll share later in the week.   But for today I'm sharing this card I created with Ani from Saturated Canary

Love this image and so happy I finally got to color her and put her on a card...  Now you might be wondering, what's going on with her hair, yea?  Well instead of the nice straight hair she has I wanted to actually try to make her look Polynesian, which means more of a coarse, curly, frizzy style.  Not so sure I accomplished it, but it does give it a different feel than the original straight hair and I actually like it.  Colored her with a slight tan and did some fun masking on her pareo with a monstera leaf punch.  The fun part was not the clouds or the ocean, but the sand!  Yep that's real sand under her feet!  The product is called Mudd Puddles, Tahiti Beach and comes in a variety of different colors and types.  I purchased it at the last stamp convention along with some other products that I hope to test soon.  Here's a close-up:

Because the image and scene take up so much of the card I went with one flower on top.  The card base is blue cardstock, on top of that is dp from Crafts n' Craftin' Surf's Up, love that green & white print.  The flower was colored with Copics first and then die cut using the small and large flowers from Cheery Lynn Designs (#C184).  The stamen is a punched brown cs and held there with a super mini brad from SU.  For the clouds I used my own stencil, Distress inks (Tumbled glass) and for the water added a touch of Evergreen bough.  The little strip of sand is Vintage photo ink.

There is a new challenge up at the Saturated Canary blog (All thing bright and beautiful) and to me this qualifies.  I hope you enjoyed my share today.  I really had a lot of fun putting this together including spreading the sand.  Next time I think I'll try it a different way instead of the way I did it but for now I love how this turned out.  :)  Mahalo for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!!

Y&FH Challenge #15 ~ Shaped card for Mother's Day

Morning!!

Happy Sunday friends!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Today starts a new challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade. The challenge is to create a shaped card other than one that you would normally make and to give it a theme we want you to create something that you would give for Mother's Day.   Today Rosie & I are starting off the show and we both hope you get inspired.  Stop by the blog to see all the challenge rules, details and then head on over to Rosie's blog to leave her some love.  Her card is adorable!!

Normally I love to make shaped cards but sometimes it's just easier to make that normal shaped card right?  That's why I'm so glad we're doing this challenge because now I have to make a different shaped card which means breaking out my Spellbinders.  Woo Hoo!!  I have a couple new ones that I have been wanting to use.  Sweet!  Here's my card using the largest of the Floral Ovals as the card base with the rest of the card layered with regular ovals and one of the banner dies from Spellbinders.   The image I used is one of my favorites, Fumi with Bear Backpack...

This card reminds me of one of those fancy frames or a cameo brooch.  Love the ornateness (is that a word?) of the card base and the layered ovals on top bring the card together nicely.  The dp is from MME, Miss Caroline.  I used Copics and Distress inks (Dusty Concord & Stormy Sky) for the main image as well as to stamp the sentiment.  Decided to do something simple on the inside for fun...

Stamped Fumi with Bear Backpack with the Distress inks, then I stamped over her with the two sentiments from AmyR (All About Mom sentiments).  I can't wait to make more shaped cards and hope you can join us too.  Stop by next week to see the rest of the DT's inspirations and hope you'll all play along.

**The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to our online store.

Before I forget, we will be wrapping up our last two Spread the Love events this week.  The first is our Week #4 Giveaway on Facebook, stop by the blog tomorrow to check out the link and the prize. The second is our Anything Goes with Yumi & Fumi blog challenge.  Both end on Friday, May 3rd.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting.  It truly makes me smile.  Have a fantastic Sunday everyone!  Take care!!

Hatter Bean.. Cute!!

Hello!

I've been having a lot of fun inking up some of my newer images.  Yesterday I shared a card with Sister Stamp's Kokeshi Doll.  Today I'm excited to share my card with Hatter Bean from the Limited Release at The Greeting Farm.  Marie was really on point when she made this limited release single stamps.  Each one is adorable and I can't wait to ink them all.  Here's the card I made which I'm planning to enter in to the FFF flowers challenge.

Weee, she's soo cute!!  That piece of dp was scrap that I found in my scrap box and where I got my inspiration to color her.  The sentiment stamp is from AmyR and seemed perfect for this card.  I used a MS flower border punch and butterfly punch for accents and dimension. Couldn't stop smiling when I was done.
=D

Thank you so much for coming by today.   Have a fabulously awesome crafty weekend.  Hoping to continue working on more newer stamps and getting some projects done and slowly make my way around to your blogs.  Take care!

LFF #58 is back!

It's Friday and looks like I'm back for another share.  Woo Hoo!!

I checked to see when was the last time I had a Lilo's Fun Friday post and it's been Way. Too. Long!  As my mojo is slowly coming back, I'll try to post something daily.  I'm having fun and enjoying getting back to stamping, coloring and creating.

So for today's LFF #58 I have a cute little card featuring a Sister Stamp!  Meet  Kokeshi Doll, I believe she was part of release #11, if you'd like to purchase her or any of the other Sister Stamps head on over to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store.  We carry most of them including the current Zodiac stamps.  Click HERE to jump over to the store.

Normally I wouldn't join a challenge on Friday's but I looked around and saw the current challenge at Flutter By Weds is a sketch, so I decided to play for fun. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

The dp is from DCWV (The Garden Tea Party stack) and I can't wait to dive in to more of it.  It's really girly and pretty.  This card is 3.5 x 3.5 and I turned it in to a gate fold card with a little fun opening.  Here's how it unfolds...

I had fun with this one.  Lots of layers and I tried to distress the edges of the paper with a distressing tool and Distress inks (Vintage photo)  Oh and the cool thing about the image is that it took less than 5 minutes to color her.  I kept the inside the same as the front and now it's ready to send.

Sister Stamps release #13 will be in our shop on May 1st, but you have a chance to win the stamps at the Sister Stamps blog.  Start HERE at the beginning.  Good luck!!

Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a terrific weekend and be back on Sunday to see the newest Y&FH challenge, it's shaping up to look like a lot of fun.

Hugs,
Lilo

Y&FH Challenge #14 Reminder

Good morning!

Today Sandie & I are sharing our multiple folds cards on the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog as a reminder and inspiration that Challenge #14 ends tomorrow.  You still have some time; the challenge ends at noon on Friday.   Link up HERE.  The prize up for grabs is different then our normal prize.  We're offering up a $15 gift certificate to our store, so you can now shop for the stamp you want.  We hope that entices you to play.  :)  Stop by Sandie's blog and see all the details on her card.  If you didn't get a chance to see Eva's or Kim's beautiful cards on Sunday or Rosie's card click on their names and you'll jump straight to their blogs.  Talk about wonderful multiple card folds!  This team really knows how to bring it! And it's just a coincidence that most of us used the same image to play with.  :)

Here's my card featuring Yumi with Birdie...
Can you tell I'm stuck in the outdoors?  (LOL)  Well who knows how much longer this will be, but for now I'm having fun with it.  I used Distress Ink (pads) to create the clouds and the ground below the grass.  The rest is colored with Copic markers.  Created the window with Spellbinders and attached them to a doily.  For the cardbase I chose a 5x5 card and was supposed to score the front exactly in the middle, but as you can see I was slightly off!  Eh, no matter, I worked with it and it turned out pretty cool.  The dp is Doodlebug and see that gorgeous ribbon?  It's from May Arts!  I loves it!  Went perfectly with the paper.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  Okay now time for the reveal...  This is what it looks like when you open the card...

Ta-da!!!  I mimicked the front of the card inside using the smaller SB stencils.  The blue birdie on the inside is a stamp from Stamps by Judith.  The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches.

Alrighty don't forget there are a couple other events going on, stop by the Y&FH blog to see them all.   Again, thank you so much for stopping by.  I'm slowly making my way around, knowing that when I do I'll find tons of beautiful cards and inspiration.  I really need that for my mojo.  Have a wonderful day!

Happy Earth Day!

Hello!

I'm a little bit late today, but I didn't get that Ah-ha light bulb inspiration until early this morning.  I'm using up the rest of my lunch time to post this.

It's been sooo very long since I joined a challenge and I was itching to ink up a Greeting Farm stamp so I popped over to see what the current challenges were.  One for FFF is to recycle/alter something and the DTT is called Earth Day.  I thought about something I could recycle/alter but came up with nothing, so will hold off until later for my a-ha momemnt.  (haha)   As I mentioned I was looking through my stamps I found my ah-ha moment for the Earth Day DTT challenge.  Here is the amazing photo inspiration:

What a cool photo yea?  These are all my favorite colors too!  So the stamp that gave me the Ah-ha moment was Anya from the Rock the Farm stamp set.  If you don't have it then you are out of luck because this is one of the retired set.  One of the cutest stamp sets to come out from TGF.  I was very fortunate to get it and it's been so very long since it was actually inked up.

Here's my card and the scene I created was another outdoorsy one.  I decided to use the color scheme and the circles.  Looks like Anya is coming up from the waters edge with two full buckets and boy she looks a little flushed from her exercise!  hehehe..  Colored with Copics and Distress ink pads this scene came together pretty fast.  The rest of it was a little bit harder as I had to decided whether to use an embossing folder or patterned paper.  When I found that paper I thought, Ah-ha!  hahaha...  After that the rest of the card came together pretty quick!

Well I guess the only other thing I can say is that I love this card and it might possibly be very hard for me to part with it.  (LOl!) Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow to share my card for the Y&FH #14 Multiple folds challenge.

Have a great day!!

Leanne

A Tent card with Fumi

Hello!

As I pre-post this I'm watching The Voice and smiling because Usher is teaching Blake how to dance, Kid n' Play style! hahaha!!  So cute!  This is one of those shows that I can't wait to watch and always sad when it ends.  The only thing about this season is that it's sorta draggin and the two hours seems like it's only an hour because of all the commercials.  Well I guess the networks have to pay for it somehow.  Just wish the coaches would just pick instead of pausing!  Sorry, just venting a little.  lol...  I just saw I've reached 170 followers!  Wow!  So very cool, thanks for following and so glad you are here.  I hope you are inspired.  Thank you!!

Anyhoos, thanks Rachel for sharing what the name of that card was!  It's called a tent card!  Yay! Here is the link on SCS to the tutorial created by Beate Johns, she's awesome and her card is adorable!  Here is my tent card featuring Fumi from Yumi & Fumi Handmade.

I had a lot of fun with this one.  I tried a rectangle window this time around and used dark brown paper accents on the frame, grass and the flowers.  Another outdoorsy themed card for me.  Getting in to the Spring theme.  Here's a side view of the card...

Oh you can see that I popped up some of the flowers on the front of the card.  Now because I didn't have a space to write anything I did something on the back...

Now I have a spot to write something.  I'm super happy with how this one turned out and plan to send it to someone who's probably not expecting it.  Hope she likes it.

If you have a chance to come and play in the current challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade come on over!!  It ends on Friday.  We've also got a Spread the Love event challenge that ends next Friday.  So far we've only got one entry .  All you have to do is use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp and you're in! The prize is awesome, I really wish I could join. Lol!

Hoping to get in to some challenges as soon as I find my stamps. LOL!!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great Tuesday!!

AJ with Dragonfly

Hey everyone!
I'm back, well at least to blogging.  I'm going to start off pretty slow, but I plan to share two small projects today.  I'm proud to say I made 5 cards altogether.  Yes 4!  hahaha!  Here's what I made using AJ with Dragonfly from Yumi & Fumi Handmade...

Sorry but I can't quite remember the name of this card, if I come across it or if you know please feel free to leave a comment.  (This is called a tent card! Thanks Rachel for sharing!!) Created a window and built it from there...  Here's a side view of the card...
The scene is pretty simple.  A cloud covered backdrop with AJ peeking out from behind a tree.  The grass was die cut using a Fiskars boarder die.  The tree trunk is paper from Doodlebug as well as the green & white polka dot paper.  The sentiment is from the O&A Buddies set from TGF.  Finished it off with a green button and brown & white twine all on top of a turqouise colored cardstock.

This next card can be used as a small gift tag.  The cool thing about the new Peek-a-Boo stamps are they can be used for small cards, or tags.  This card measures 3.5 x 3.5 and is pretty CAS.

I thought the "dude" was a pretty funny sentiment to put on this one, cause seriously I'd be saying "Dude!" if a dragonfly dropped on my nose! hahaha...  (Sentiment from Paper Smooches)

I had a lot of fun making both cards.  It didn't take too long to color either of them up and then adding them to these cards.  Looking forward to sharing the rest of the cards I made.  Yay!  Hoping to get back in to visting blogs as well.  I appreciate those of you who stopped by, you're all really very sweet!  Have a terrific Monday and please stop by the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog to see what we've been up to.

Happy Monday!

Y&FH Challenge #14 - Multiple Folds

Hello my friends,
As I write this post my heart feels a little heavy for the tragedy that happened at the Boston Marathon today.  Keep those families and their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

Sunday we started a new challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  For the next two weeks we'd like to see Multiple folds in your card.  There are a lot of different variations to choose from.  Stop by the blog to see Rosie's cute spring-like gatefold card featuring Yumi with Birdie.  It reminds me that Spring is trying it's best to push through.

I had so many issues with this one.  Of course I couldn't try to do something simple, had to try something different!  I did pick my image and they were pretty fast to color.  Then I had to figure out what folds I wanted to do.  Well here's what I ended up with.  Not one I'd try again, but for this one time...  Here it is featuring Fumi with Turtle...

Now I know looking at it straight on you can't see any folds.  Just a triangle on the bottom right?  Well here's the side view of the card...

The folds are the triangles!  {LOL}  It's all part of the dark brown cardstock.  (Yea, told ya! LOL!)  I added the sunflower paper to add something over it.  Unfortunately what I tried to do just didn't work out on paper as it did in my head! LOL!  I'm going to give this another try and see if maybe I can come up with something different.  I think the only thing going for it is the image.  =D

Hope you can play along with us.  We're still holding out on the prize, but once we decide we'll let you know.   Speaking of prizes, have you seen our Spread the Love event?  We're in our 2nd week of events and some fun stuff up for grabs.  Stop by the Y&FH blog to see the details.  I have a cute badge at the top of my blog on the right side bar.  Feel free to click on it to go directly to the post.  And then please feel free to help us Spread the Love by sharing the badge on your blog.  We're happy to announce that the GIVEAWAY for Week #2 is up on our Facebook page.  There is a link HERE, where you can enter.

Have a great evening!  Will hopefully be back to blogging and posting now that my big project is done.  Will get to share pictures of that soon.  Mahalo for sticking around with me if you're still here. I'm truly grateful!

Hugs,
Leanne

Y&FH Release Day!! Peek-a-Boo Series

Good morning and welcome to RELEASE day at Yumi & Fumi Handmade!!
Woo Hoo!!
We're so happy you could join us today.
Before we start the showcase, we'd like to say a huge Welcome & ALOOOHAAA to our friends Cliff & Cheryl of J's Knicknacks in Honolulu, HI.  J's is the first to carry our line of Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamps in their store and we're really happy and excited about it!!  If you live in the area please stop by and say Hello and pick up a few of our stamps.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to J's Knicknacks for being our firsts!!
Yes, that means we've gone wholesale!  If you'd like to see our stamps in your local craft store please ask them to send us an email at wholesale@yumifumihandmade.com
Today we’re excited to show you our newest stamps created with a little whimsy in mind.  When coming up with this new stamp line we wanted to do something a little different but still keep fun and cute in mind.  We came up with the idea of our characters peeking around a corner, laying in the grass, and maybe even peeking over something.  Then we thought it would be even cuter to add in our own little critter friends to go along with us.  That is how the Peek-a-Boo series was born.
These stamps are the same quality as our other stamps and all made in the USA.  Made of deeply etched red rubber on cling mount they are also scroll cut and indexed for easy stamping.  The only difference is they are much smaller than our normal sized images, but that doesn't detract from their cuteness.
Each stamp retails for $7.50, but for a limited time you can purchase a bundle pack of all 4 stamps for the low price of $25 until Monday, April 8th at 5pm pst.  (This offer only applies in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store
Make sure to stop by the Y&FH blog to see what the rest of the DT created with our new images.  When you click on each designer's name it will take you directly to their blog for details on their projects.
Time to welcome our Peek-a-Boo friends into the ohana…

Today I am sharing my project featuring

AJ with Dragonfly image colored by Eva
Isn't he adorable with the dragonfly landing on his nose?!!  As you can see he can be used peeking around anything.  For my project I have him peeking around a white-washed fence.

This actually started out as another sticky note easel card, but I forgot to add the long piece of cardstock for the easel before gluing down the box!  No worries though because I created another box to go on top and now have this cute little gift box which I can still put sticky notes, or other small flat things.

I hope you enjoyed my project featuring the adorable AJ and his little Dragonfly friend.  Make sure to stop by the rest of the team's blogs and leave them some love.  They did an AWEmazing job with this release.  Always blows me away.

Mahalo for stopping by!!
