Y&FH Challenge #4 - Emboss it!

Hey everyone!!

Happy Sunday!! Today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  This week Rosie wants us to emboss our projects.  Whether its dry or wet create that cool look with some fun embossing folders, or some cool colored embossing powders.  Hop on over to the Y&FH blog to see what embossing technique the DT used on their projects then create your own and link up with us.  Don't forget to follow the rules when you play along. Check the challenge page for all the details.

I personally love embossing.  I love when you put paper between two pieces of plastic and then squish it through a machine and it creates a really cool effect to the paper.  I also love using fun stamps, pigment inks and fun embossing powders to give that wet look to plain paper.  Let's see what I have for you today...

It's another tag featuring Yumi with Book from our Back 2 School collection.  Went with some dry embossing because I was crunched for time.  The embossing folders I used are both from Cuttlebug.  One is my favorite, Swiss Dots, the other is an Argyle pattern.  I added in two thin strips of black and white polka dot washi tape.  She was a lot of fun to color in pinks and blacks.  I think I'd love to have pink hair if I could pull it off.  LOL!!  Maybe for Halloween, we'll see.

Hope you can join us for this week's bi-weekly challenge.  There is no prize this time but you can be in the running for our top 3 and that comes with a pretty awesome personalized badge to display on your blog for all to see.

Hoping to go to J-Town today for a crafts fair and good food.  If not, I'll be doing some laundry and crafting the day away.  Have a terrific Sunday everyone and Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Leanne

LFF #41 - September SSS

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Hoping you had a great week and if it wasn't hoping this weekend will cure that!

For today's Lilo's Fun Friday share I have a card I made for my September SSS, Kathy.  I was pretty excited that she was my SS for this month because well, she's just that, a secret crafty sister.  Ok so maybe she's a SCS, but either way she's pretty awesome.  Check out her blog and if you aren't a follower you should be.  She has a lot of fun ideas and is always coming up with great projects.  It was only fitting that I used the new Sister Stamps BFFs for her card. She's generous and so giving.  I know that I can always ask for something and she never says no.

There is no dp used here.  Instead I used my wildflower background stamp and my newest Memento inks (new sprout, summer sky) to create this fun backdrop.  After inking up all the papers I distressed the paper with the ink pads.  You can't quite tell but I added some Stickles to the ends of the flowers.  Looks pretty IRL.  The paper with the BFFs stamped and colored is actually a small card.  The two flowers on the bottom are not only decorative but help to keep the card closed.  On the inside I stamped Hugs with an AmyR sentiment stamp...

From the same group of stamps I stamped the sentiment on the front of the card.  This one has some great words to use.  I added some other fun stuff to send to her.  Hope she likes.

Next I wanted to share my September SSS card from Miyuki Noon.  She made me this adorable Fleur Anya card with an aloha feel to it.  I also got some fun crafty accessories to play with.  Mahalo Miyuki!!

I wonder who my October SSS will be?  If you'd like to be a part of these funs swaps then head on over to Kris' blog and sign up for October.

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!! Have a terrific weekend and as always, Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Happy Birthday Joanna!

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Today over at the Lollipop Crafts blog we are celebrating Joanna's birthday!!  Joanna, wishing you a blessed birthday, with lots of hugs, kisses, fun and fond memories!  Happy Birthday!!  In honor of her birthday I'm sharing this birthday card I made using Anya Treats from The Greeting Farm.

I used Kim Yu's sketch for September along with some background stamps and some vintagy colors.  I went with another short bob hair style especially with the hat she's wearing and the color scheme, they all really seemed to work well.  Matted all the panels with dark chocolate brown cs and found some matching ribbon.  I colored the pearls on the top with a Copic marker to match the rest of the card.

This is a shot of the panel with the sentiment.  I used a couple CTMH sentiment stamps this time, love the font.  If you look real close you can see the shine on the hearts.  I used a little glossy accents for that.  You can probably see it a lot better here...

Gonna have to add this girl to my favorites list, she's so fun!  If it's your birthday today, well then Happy Birthday!!  Wishing you a blessed day as well.  Take care and Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a fantastic cupcake filled day!! : )

Leanne

Lilo's Fun Friday #40

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!!

I'm over at Renate's and we are working on the last details before we trek to Sacramento.  Looks like we are not getting any sleep, so who else is awake with us?  My sistas from Hawaii?!! Gimme a holla!  hehehe...

For today's LFF #40 share I have one of the first Sister Stamps playing on my card.  Say hello to Kiyomi and her little friend.
I've always wanted to do this masking technique, so decided to give it a go. First I stamped the cherry blossom background using different shades of Fall colored Distress inks.  Next I used an oval Spellbinder die to cut out that shape and using removable tape adhered it to the center of the card.  Next I used more Distress ink and went around the card. When I was satisfied I removed the oval in the center and ta-da!!  A nice white frame perfect for Kiyomi and her butterfly friend.  The rest of the card came together pretty fast and I found the perfect sentiment to go with. Thanks AmyR for always having the right saying when I need one.

Alrighty time for me to get back to work.  Hope you all have a terrific Aloha Friday!!   Mahalo for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

30 Seconds to Mars - TGF Style

Hello!!

Today I wanted to share a card my co-worker asked me to make for her.  Her sister's b-day was yesterday and she asked if I could make a card using some images that resemble the band, 30 Seconds to Mars.  I have to admit, I've never heard of this band, but one of it's members is a pretty familiar face.  She forwarded me different pictures and from there I thought some of the TGF boys would be perfect!  After we consulted with each other we picked the 3 boys that closely resembled the group.  Here is a picture of the band:

Now here are is the TGF version of this band.  Let's see if you can guess who we picked:

First from left to right: Jeremy & Flirty Edward from the Roll Call kit & lastly CC. Sunday.  I kept the card very simple, per request, but still had some fun with it.  The paper is from Basic Grey which I distressed with black soot.  It has a really cool design with the music notes.  I normally would keep the inside pretty plain, but I had some time so I did another simple design there too.

It's pretty much the same design, without a stamped image or sentiment.  To create the card I used a Spellbinder scalloped rectangle.  I really love how this turned out!  I am happy to say so was my co-worker.  Yay!!  It's always nice to satisfy the customer, now just need to hear if her sis liked it or not.  Either way I think it's a cool card.

Before I say g'nite, I just wanted those of you who live in the Sacramento area to know that Yumi & Fumi Handmade will be at the Rubber Stamp Convention on Saturday, 9/22.  We hope you get a chance to stop by and say hello!

Mahalo again for stopping by.  I hope you all have a terrific week!

Leanne

Lollipop Crafts #90 - Punches and/or Dies

Good morning!!

Today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at Lollipop Crafts.  We've changed up to give everyone more time to play a long.  Today's theme is all about punches and dies.  Make a CARD using at least 2 different punches/dies.  I bet there are going to be some beauties!  Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish.  For more details and some inspiration from the A-Team head on over to the LC blog HERE.

I love punches and dies!! I have a ton of each and have yet to get through all of them.  Some are still in their original packaging waiting to be abused, I mean used. lol!  The card I'm going to share today features the BFFs from Sister Stamps again.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E21, E01, E50, R20
Hair: N10, N7 & E49, E44
Pinks: RV52, RV55
Teals: BG53, BG57
Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa inks

I used the following Spellbinders: squares, ovals and scalloped ovals.  I love how dark brown really makes things pop so I matted each piece of either white cs or patterned paper with it.  The sentiment is from AmyR.  I was so lucky to find that patterned paper at Michaels!  I grabbed all the sheets that were on the shelf.  Score!

Ok, time for you to link up your CARD using this week's guidelines.  You'll be eligible to win the prize and possibly be picked for our top three.

Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a great week!!
Hugs,
Leanne

Y&FH Challenge #3 - Anything but a Card

Greeting friends!!
Today, we have a new challenge over at the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog.  This bi-weekly challenge is Anything but a card.  Please visit the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog for all the details and see the gorgeous projects from our very talented DT.  There is no prize for this challenge but we hope you'll play along because you will still be in the running for our top 3.

I made a fun tag with some scraps of designer paper from the October Afternoon School House paper.  I also chose to use Fumi with Bear Backpack...

I had a ton of fun coloring her up, especially her "Panda" bag.  hehehe!  I handwrote the sentiments because I didn't have any stamps that would work.  It's always fun to do that every once in a while.

Copics:

Hair: E35, E37, E39, E49
Eyes: BV20, BV23

Lilo's Fun Friday #39

Happy Friday!
I thought today I'd share another birthday card using another one of TGF's Big Anyas (Big Anya Treats) for today's LLF #39.  I did a little alteration, can you tell how?

If you guessed she has a new hair cut you'd be right.  hehehe, I altered her hair because this is the card I made for my boss' birthday.  Yes my boss has short hair.  She's also a pretty snazzy dresser.  I believe she has an outfit with killer gray suede boots like those.  I've never see her wear a hat like that, but I think she'd be able to rock it like Big Anya.  My co-worker Doreen who is our in-house baker extraordinaire baked cheesecake cupcakes so this Big Anya was the perfect image to use.  The card itself was one that I made but never got a chance to finish.  I thought she'd look perfect on it and I think I was right.  Love the bright colored papers and the different layers and shapes.

Have a terrific Friday my friends and I hope you have time to play in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade challenge. Last day is Saturday.  Remember a stamp is up for grabs as well as a pretty cool personalized Top 3 badge.  Mahalo for stopping by today!!  :)

Hugs,
Lilo

LC #89 - Sponsor Spotlight: Soft Pencil Studios

Morning everyone!!

I'm here to share more about Soft Pencil Studios who is our sponsor for Lollipop Crafts Challenge #89.

Hello everyone! I´mElizabeth Pujalka, the illustrator and designer behind Softpencil Studios and the creator of the Tinytwinies®, eight cute characters who will bring you joy and lots of smiles!

You can find the Tinytwinies® on digital stamps, clear stamps, stickers, rub-ons and many more goodies as wall decals, fabrics and “cut and sew patterns”.
I hope you like them and enjoy so much crafting with them! ;)

One lucky winner will receive 5 digis of his/her choice.  How great is that?  You've still got a few more days to play along with our Fall Frolic challenge for your chance to be chosen as one of our Top 3 and for your chance at the prize package offered up by Soft Pencil Studios.  Click here for our current challenge.  This week my teammate, Dena and I will be sharing our spotlight samples for some inspiration.  Here's mine featuring the adorable Lilly.

Isn't she adorable? I just want to hug her and pinch those rosy cheeks!  I colored her with Copics and thought the red would look so cute on her.  This is a pre-made card that I made when I first started stamping.  Geez, that was a really long time ago.  I thought Lilly fit in perfectly here especially since I colored her to match the rest of the card.  Please don't ask me about the sentiments or the details.  I can tell you that paper is from DCWV and the stems under the flowers I drew in myself.  I glued this down to the red card which ties in the whole scene nicely.  I actually like how it turned out.

Copics:
Hair: E49, E44
Skin: E000, E21, E01, E50, R20
Reds: R46
Flower: Y15, R46, YR18

Alrighty my friends, Mahalo for stopping by today and I hope you all have a terrific day!!

Wishing you a LOVELY day!

Morning!!

Poppin' in to share a card I started a while back. Hope you're all doing well!

Here is a card I made for an upcoming birthday.  I used Anya Lifts from TGF and I absolutely love her!

I used some bright colors on her outfit and the balloons to match the Bo Bunny Ambrosia paper behind her.  I wanted to do some fun confetti, but it kinda got out of hand so I just had to go with it. I don't know if you can see, but they are mostly sparkly.  It's really hard to see sparkle if you don't have the right sort of camera or lighting, but believe me when I say that there is a lot of sparkle going on here. lol  I also threw in a fun banner using C.C. Design Cutter Corner Banner dies.  The sentiment is from the AmyR Happy Thoughts set and seemed appropriate for my card.

There are a few challenges I'm going to join with this card.  ATS Wednesday Challenges, Danni's Flutter By Wednesday and TGF's FFF.

A reminder that challenge #2 at Yumi & Fumi Handmade ends on Saturday.  Have you submitted your project?  You have a chance at winning a Y&FH stamp or you could possibly be chosen as one of our top 3 and receive your own personalized blog badge.  For all the details click HERE.  Also our store is open and ready for you to stop in, look around and purchase some one-of-a-kind stamps.  If you're looking for Sister Stamps we also sell them.  Come take a look! {Y&FH store}

I'm going to try to share some news around blogland at the end of my posts.  Here are two that I found:

Have you seen the new previews over at La-La Land Crafts?  Pure cuteness and whoa on the new dies!! Check them all out HERE

Head on over to Kris' blog for a chance to make some kids happy as she shares the 2nd Annual Make a Child Smile card drive.  Read all about it HERE and hope you can make some children smile and help a terrific cause! : )

LFF #38

Happy Friday everyone!!

Whew, this week has gone by pretty quickly.  It's already Friday and time to start the weekend!! Woo Hoo!!  I'm excited to share today's Lilo's Fun Friday #38 because these little girls are adorable!!  I'm talking about the BFFs from Sister Stamps Release #9!  You can purchase them from the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store along with any of the other Sister Stamps.

Aren't these two the cutest little girls?  I see myself using this over and over.  Hmmm... that seems to be a trend when I think of Sister Stamps.  (hehe)  This is a pretty CAS 4x4 card with a simple background stamp, some punched out butterflies (MS) and a stamped sentiment (AmyR).  I colored the girls up with browns with different shades of pink hair!!  The background is this beautiful cherry blossom stamp I purchased at the Carson rubber stamp convention.  It's a gorgeous background stamp that I'll be using a lot.  I inked it up with Positively Pink ink from Stampin' Up!

So do you have any plans this weekend?  I'm going to try to get in some crafting and take care of some chores and hopefully the weekend won't fly by!  What ever you choose to do this weekend have fun doing it!!  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Challenge #2 - Yumi & Fumi Handmade

Hi Everyone!!

I would love to say Thank you to everyone for all the lovely birthday wishes, greetings and the awesome birthday blog hop from yesterday.  Facebook is overloading with special messages too and boy I'm so happy I could burst!  Thank you all for thinking of me and for making my day extra special.  If you didn't get a chance to check out the awesome hop Y&FH Birthday Coordinator, Eva coordinated, please stop by the Yumi & Fumi Handmade post HERE and when you get to the Lollipop Crafts blog please, please make sure to stop by each of the sistahs blogs who are featured.

I had an amazing day with my family and then an awesome dinner with my bud Renate' and her family.  My buddy Doreen made me some amazing cupcakes and I look forward to my birthday cake when I go back to work on Tuesday.

Now, this post is super late, but couldn't be helped.  I'm just now getting access to a computer because mine had to go in for a check up.  Actually my brother did something to it and now he's gonna have to fix it.  lol... Hopefully it'll be for the better.  We have our 2nd challenge over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade and the challenge is a simple one, use a sentiment.  You'll be blown away with the DT creations, I know I always am.  You'll also get a chance to see the updates we made to the challenge images you can use and as this is the first challenge of the month a stamp of our choosing is up for grabs.

I found a couple of those wooden craft words when I went to Big Lots.  I thought they would be terrific to add some images to.  I picked Yumi & Fumi to use and colored them both up differently so that you can see how versatile they can be. It's pretty picture heavy so please bare with me. :)

First up is DREAM...

Here are some close ups:

Next up is WISH...

I didn't do anything to the words, just colored and fussy cut a bunch of Yumi & Fumi images and popped them on to the words.  A nice way to add some fun to some really powerful words.  It's now your turn to play along.  It's a 2 week event so you've got plenty of time to choose your image & sentiment and link up with us.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and the rest of the week!!
Mahalo for stopping by!

Hugs,
Leanne
