A quick hello!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here in L.A. and I'm getting ready to head on out the door, but before I do I wanted to wish you all a wonderful day and say Mahalo for all the wonderful comments you've left me.  It's been crazy at work so your comments made the days much better.  Now I'm going to enjoy this first day of the weekend.
Today I'm sharing this fun card I made featuring another of those cute pixies from Stamping Bella.  This was a very simple card, probably took me 15 minutes to make.  All I did was punch out those clouds, stamped the pixie and colored her with Copics. Then all I had left was to glue them all on to a pre-made card from DCWV.  Me likey when a card is that fast don't you?  This will be a great addition to all the cards that are piling up for me and I get to use up those boxed cards I bought.  Looking forward to making more of these fast and easy cards.  I have the images and the tools so why not?!   hehehe...

A few reminders:
  • Don't forget to check out the TGF blog this weekend.  Tons of previews for the new releases, lots of inspiration, and I hear there's going to be a blog hop for a chance to win the May releases, so make sure you hop on over there tomorrow.
  • Of course you still have time to play along with us for the MM, WOW & FFF challenges over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.
  • Over at La-La Land Crafts there is a contest going on as well.  Click HERE for all the details on how you can win a La-La Land Crafts gift certificate in honor of National Scrapbooking Day.
  • All That Scraps is also having a new May release of some berry cuteness.  Don't want to miss out on that.
Hope you get to play with crafts or other fun things today.  I'm off and I'll be back tomorrow for my La-La Land Crafts post.  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Lilo

Mom.. You're Fabulous!

Happy Friday everyone!!  Yay, it's the start of another weekend.  Really need it as it was a pretty rough week at work.  Today at the FFC blog we have a new challenge for you and I think you're gonna love it.  It's all about Moms for this challenge.  We are asking you to go wild with this challenge and make something special for that special lady in your life.  Use your imagination and go for it!  If you want to see some beautiful projects from the DT click HERE, you really won't be dissappointed, I guarantee it. :)

For my share I was looking through some blogs and I found this awesome easel card that was made into a post it holder on the fabulous Nady's blog.  Nady and I met at CHA this winter and we found each other through blogland.  I have been keeping up with her fantastic blog and hope you all get a chance to check it out.  She has a lot of fun projects and this was just one of the ones I was eager to try.  Merci Nady for the inspiration!  I hope you like what I made.

I wanted to make this easel/post it holder for my Mama's desk at work.  She's not a fussy kind of gal, and loves to be comfortable with her jeans and tennis shoes.  She is an avid Laker's fan, and loves to read.  She is definitely the rock of our family and we think she's just fabulous.  Here is the front view of the card:

I altered two TGF stamps, can you guess which two?  If you guessed Harlow from the Creepin Kit & Mama Anya from the Mom & Dad set you would be correct!  I also used the new Splotchy background stamp behind Anya and on the sentiment.  This cool new background stamp will be available on May 1st along with all the other new releases.  You MUST check out the TGF blog for all the previews and a chance to win the new releases.   You might recognize the other floral stamp, that is an older TGF (when it was Pink Poison) stamp set.  The flourishes are from Sizzix and I decorated them with a pearl pen.

Here is the card unfolded showing off the box with some fun post its already inside:

I used a black Sharpie to write MOM on the decorative pins and also hand wrote the sentiment.  Lastly here is a side view of the card closed:

This card measures a whopping 6" x 5 3/4"!  I hope she has room on her desk for it.  I'm going to have to find a box for this card! LOL!!

Alrighty, it's now time for you to get the juices flowing and get creating!  Here are the deets for every FFF challenge which can also be found on the FFC blog:

  • Farm Fresh Friday challenges run through Thursday, 12 pm CST.
  • Use any TGF image for your project or card and upload it to the TGF Galleria>Farm Fresh Challenges 2011>Farm Fresh Fridays-2011>I {Heart} Mom
  • Winner will be chosen by merit and win a single TGF image of choice.
I can't wait to see what you all create!!! Mahalo for stopping by and have a wonderful FRIDAY!!

Lilo

WOW - Sketch #2

Happy Wednesday my friends!!  Today at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are getting sketchy with this week's W.O.W. challenge.  Before I give you the details, I just want to say MAHALO to you all.  I'm so happy that we had so many awesome submissions for the NO PINK challenge last week.  Everyone did an amazing job!  Thank you so much for playing, hope it wasn't too bad for you. :)  Now this week we're back to a sketch challenge and  our own DT member Tasha has given us a good one.  I don't know about you all, but sometimes I just get stuck when I'm trying to make a card.  Sketches are one of the best ways to get me out of that situation.  Here's the sketch:

Pretty cool yah?  :)  For more details on what the DT has in store for you, check out the Challenge Blog HERE.  And now check out what I made using Tasha's sketch:

I hadn't inked up this little guy, who's name is Paul, in quite some time and I thought giving him blue eyes and red hair would be fun to go with his orange and baby blue track suit.  You can find him along with 9 of his other Wild Sprout friends on the Roll Call kit from The Greeting Farm.  The sentiment, "This one is for YOU!," is from the Spotlight kit.  I really like the fact that you can mix and match the stamps with any sentiment.  The papers are from MME, Fine & Dandy.  Usually I pick the papers before I ink up the image, but this time I went the other way around.  I thought these papers went really well with my guy Paul here and distressing with the browns as well as framing those different colors with brown cs gave this card a lot of warmth.  Lastly, I wrote out the words ENJOY :) on some of that brown cs and cut them into strips and adhered them separately.  I enjoyed making this card a lot.

Ok, now here are the details for the W.O.W. Challenge:

  • Open until Tuesday
  • Entries are due by 12 PM CST
  • Use ANY TGF image
  • Upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sketch 2.
The winner will be chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF digi of choice!

Alrighty now it's your turn.  Let's see if we can get more creations in the Galleria this week.  Have fun with it!!

Mahalo for stopping by.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

MM - For You

It's Monday peeps and you know what that means?  It's time for another FFC Mystery Case Monday challenge.  What does that mean?  Well it means that one of the DT members chooses a wonderful card for everyone to case from the TGF Galleria.  This week it's Sparkle's turn and she's chosen this cute card featuring Miss Rain Anya by Rebecca Belanger.

Just love the polka dots and striped papers and also the paper piecing.  Here's my card using a set of papers from Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 paper pad and featuring Twirl Anya:

I paper pieced her top with the same polka dot paper in the background as well as the pinwheel.  The sentiment is from an old set from the Pink Poison line (aka TGF).  I distressed the edges with brown ink using a plain ole' sponge.

For more inspiration, check out how the design team case'd Rebecca's card HERE.  Alrighty, are you ready to play?  All you have to do is upload your card or project to the TGF Galleria>FarmFreshChallenges2011>Monday Case Mystery>The Paper Bug. I'd love to see what inspires you.  So use any TGF image, it's your turn to create something based on Rebecca's card.  We'd love to see your wonderful creations in the Galleria.  A reminder on the challenge details:
  • Use ANY TGF image
  • Upload project to the Galleria by Sunday, 12 pm CST
  • Winner will be randomly chosen to win a free single TGF image.
Wishing you all a fantastik Monday.  Mahalo for stopping by.

Hugs,
Lilo

So cool

Good afternoon!!  Hope you're enjoying your Easter Sunday.  Bar-b-que is on the menu for later today, but for now, it's all about crafting with my bestie, Renate.  :)  Which takes me to my La-La Land Crafts post for today.
As I was flipping through the stamps Luka with Truck caught my attention and right then I decided I wanted to use this cutie to make a boy card this time around.  I paired him up with some cute automobile paper and found a Cuttlekid truck die that I colored with Copics to match the truck in his arms.  I punched out a small cloud and colored it to make it look like smoke coming out from the exhaust.  Renate shared her cute brads and I used So Cool for the center of the "smoke."  Have to say I think this little boy is a cutie pie and can be colored to look like anyone's little boy.

Don't forget to upload any of your La-La Land projects to the Customer Gallery.  A winner will be chosen at the end of the month for a cool prize.

Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Lilo

For my card I used the sweet Valentine Anya & Ian image.  My parents have an anniversary coming up so I think this will be perfect for them.  I apologize, that I don't have the link to it, the site is down, but as soon as it is up and running I will link it for you.
Please check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog for more inspiration from the DT.  There is definitely some cuteness over there. :)

Farm Fresh Friday challenges run through Thursday, 12 pm CST.  Use any TGF image for your project or card and upload it to the TGF Galleria>Farm Fresh Challenges 2011>Farm Fresh Fridays-2011>Digital Get Down for a chance to win a single TGF image of choice.

Check out what I made without any PINK:
I DO set courtesy of The Greeting Farm

Casing Linda K. on my own

I received a lovely card with some goodies sent to me by the talented Linda from Simple and Sassy Creations.  Little did I know that when we were posting on FB that the image she posted would come to me.  I was so happy when I opened the envelope and saw this cutie that I literally LOL! I was her April Secret Sister swap-ee.  I just love it!  So many pretty sparklies and that adorable "Tiny Dancer" from Tiddly Inks colored so prettily.  I love that she put them all together on a circle card instead of a normal kine card.  And she sent them with kind and wonderful words as only a Secret Sister would do.  Also in the box was a bag of yummy chocolate chip & mac nut cookies that have since been gobbled up as well as some pretty paper roses (going to hoard those for a while ~ hehehe) and some pretty clear stones.  She is so good to me.  Mahalo my friend!!  If any of you would like to sign up for the next Secret Sister Swap check out Kris' blog or go HERE for more details.

Here is my adorable card from Linda:

I loved it so much that I had to case this card.  Using my new Pixies from Stamping Bella via the ATS store I created 4 Spring like cards just for fun.  I know their names are Parker, Persephone, Portia and Prisc, but I couldn't tell ya who is who so if anyone knows I'd be grateful for knowing.  I colored each up with Copics.  These are such cute images, so fun to color and play with. :)

All the sentiments are a retired set courtesy of The Greeting Farm.  The cardstock is Bazzil and the dp is from my current favorite K&Company Berry Sweet stack.  Using Spellbinders scalloped circles and regular circles.  Instead of using pretty sparklies like Linda, I used my new Viva Pearl Pens in copper & cream.  The first time I used these pens was at CHA in the La-La Land Crafts booth.  They add a pretty detail that can be substituted for gems.  The last items I added to each card were matching ribbon.

Wanted to say Mahalo to Linda for this wonderful inspirational card.   Now I have four quick and easy cards to use for any occassion.

Alrighty, signing off now.  Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.
Hugs,
Lilo

Time to Celebrate... YOU!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I wanted to share a card that I made for my friend's 40th birthday.  When Amy Young, artist of the Sweet November stamp line, showcased her new Zodiac girls I knew I would have to grab Virgo not only because she is my sign, but she looked Polynesian with that gorgeous flower, straight hair and beautiful eyes.  I have had her for quite some time and this weekend I had a reason to ink her up.  My friend Janelle's birthday party.
To start, I wiped away the outlines and her necklace because I just wanted to create one of those "big head" cards.  I used soft spring like colors and contrasted with some chocolate brown cs.

Here is a close up of Virgo with her light blue green and peach 6-petal flower:

Below is the finished card.  Does this sketch look familiar?  Well it should, I have used this one previously.  For details click here or here.  {Yikes, sorry it's so blurry, only got the one shot of it, grrrr!!}

I know I will definitely play with Virgo more often.   I think she looks just like my younger sister, so she will be inked up again for a very special celebration, my sister's graduation. :)

Mahalo for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Mystery Case Monday - Stampcatwg

Welcome back for another Mystery CASE Monday!  It's my week and I'm so excited to share all the details for today's challenge with you.  Before I go on I wanted to say a Big "Mahalo" {Thank you} to you for all the wonderful creations flooding the Galleria.  It's so wonderful to see what each of you creates with the challenge rules given.  You are all Rockin' the Farm, let me tell ya!  So keep em' comin'! :)
Did I tell you how excited I am to be hosting this week's MCM challege?  Well in case you didn't hear me the first time, I am!! {haha!}  As I was looking in the Galleria I came across Wanda's beautiful card featuring Cheeky Cherry Pie.  I was drawn to it's beautiful simplicity and those pretty papers.  Congratulations Wanda!  Be sure to email Jessica to claim your prize for being this week's CASE'd card. :)

Don'tcha just love it?

Here's my take on Wanda's card:

I chose to use two different images.  Spotlight Anya and one of the Miss Anya Love girls.  The dp is from Cosmo Cricket (Circa 1934).  I used chocolate brown to add some depth and added giant pearls because it wasn't girly enough for me.. (lol)   Be sure to check out what the Farm Fresh DT has come up with in CASING this week's chosen card.

Alright, ready to have some fun?  Here are the ground rules for the Monday CASE challenge:
  • Contest open until Sunday
  • Entries are due by 12 pm CST
  • Use ANY TGF image
  • Upload your creation to the {Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays Case > Stampcatwg}
  • The winner will be chosen by a random drawing and will receive a free TGF single of choice.
For more details please check out the FAQ page on the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.

Remember to play along with ANY of the cute TGF images and most importantly.... HAVE FUN!!  :)
Good Luck!!

Get well with Doctor Marci

Good afternoon everyone!  I have a quick card to share with you featuring Doctor Marci.  I recently heard one of my bestie's daughter was sick.  I wanted to send her something cheerful and what could be more cheerful than a Marci card?  Exactly!

Here I went really simple with the design.  Colored Marci up with Copics.  Used my newest border punch from EK and some really fun dp from MME Tickled Pink.  The sentiment was handwritten on a tag punch from SU with a bright turqouise ribbon that pops some of the same color from the dp.  The whole display is on a light peach Tsumugi card from Hanko Designs.

Planning to put this in the mail tomorrow and hoping when she gets it she'll feel tons better.  She won't be able to read it as she's only 2, so mommy or daddy will have to read it to her, but I'm hoping the bright colors and pretty Marci will put a smile on her face.

Wouldn't you love to do that for someone special?  Of course you would!  Well you can with any of the La-La Land images.  They just make you smile and feel better.  Stop by the STORE and pick some up today!

Don't forget to upload your creations to our Customer Gallery, I've been seeing some really gr8 creations. : )

Have a gr8 Sunday!!

FFF- Distressing

Happy Friday peeps!!  Hope you've had a good week.  It's been so much fun looking thru the TGF Galleria @ all of your cards and projects.  I have gotten tons of inspiration and plan to use a bit here and there.  So keep those projects coming!!!

Now you know what today is right?  Yep, it's time for another fun Farm Fresh Friday challenge with us at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.  Today is DISTRESSING, no not the day, the challenge! {haha}  Should you choose to accept the challenge we are looking for distressing techniques on your cards or projects.  Whether it be with distress inks, distressed papers, we'd love to see what distresses you.

For my project I chose to do a quick frame with Cheeky Beach.  I have to confess that this didn't take me too long to do.  The frame was already distressed.  The flowers on the frame are stickers I purchased a few years ago.  I stuck them on some kraft cs and cut them out.  The other stickers, from the same sticker sheet, were adhered directly onto the frame.  I hadn't inked up Miss Cheeky Beach yet, so having her grace this frame was perfect.  The sentiment was perfect for what I was looking for.  Unfortunately I haven't found a picture to stick in here yet, so I have the pretty cs inside.  It matches Miss Cheeky's bathing suit.

Here is a close up of Miss Cheeky Beach, she was so much fun to color!!

Alrighty, now it's your turn.  Play along and you'll be in the running for a free TGF single of your choice.  A reminder on the challenge details:
  • FFF challenges are open until Thurs
  • Entries are due by 12 PM CST.
  • Use ANY TGF stamp
  • Upload your card or project to the [Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > FFF > Distress]
  • Jess or the DT will pick the winners for the challenge and the winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice.
Don't forget to stop at the FFC blog to see what my sistas from the design team have created to inspire and amaze you with.

I'm thinking of submitting this one to yesterday's PDCC challenge # 77 @ The Playdate Cafe Challenge blog.  The color I used in my first card {click here} was a different shade of brown, but I loved it anyways.   Well doesn't hurt to try again. Hope they don't mind.  LOL..  Here's a reminder of the color challenge:

Mahalo for stopping by and hope you get a chance to DISTRESS something, have fun!!

TGF is Sponsoring #77 @ The PDCC

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope you're all having a great week. One more day till the weekend! Woo hoo!!  I'm so loving all the wonderful cards that are being submitted to the TGF Galleria. You are all pulling no punches when it comes to competing! I love it, keep the inspiration and creativity coming!!

So I'm here today to let you know that TGF is this week's sponsor over at The Play Date Cafe Challenge blog and our very own TGF Creative Coordinator, Jess is a guest designer!  If you've never played before, we're all in the same boat! {hahaha}  I personally, have never played, but maybe after this one time I will.  They have some pretty cool challenges with great inspirations, and guess what?  You can use any form of crafts for submissions.  Isn't that cool?  : )  Check out their blog for more details and inspiration.

PDCC #77

For my card I decided to go with the center panel and break out Spa Anya.  I didn't want to add too much color so the background is pure white with some embossed white panels to mimic the wall.  The floor is supposed to mimic the floor in the first panel and the green accents to mimic the whole theme.

If you'd like to play along head on over to the PDCC blog for more details.  What's MORE? TGF is giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to ONE lucky winner over there so be sure to check the PDCC out and PLAY ALONG!

For some awesome TGF DT inspiration, check out what the ladies on the Farm have created by visiting the TGF blog or heading over to their blogs:

WOW - Let's get Sketchy!!

Hello!!  It's time for another Which One Wednesday with TGF's Farm Fresh challenge team.  Last week it was a color challenge; this week our awesome captain, Rachel has a sketch for us.

For my card I went a little bit crazy! I think Sparkle will like this card.  I went for something different.  No dp, but I used glittery cs & embossing instead.  For my image I've used my new Syren stamp.  After I colored her with Copics, I glittered all of her.  Yes ALL OF HER! {haha}

I used a couple embossing folders, a border punch, and some die cuts to create this card. I love what Marie did with Syren's hair!! All flowing and beautiful. I can see all the wonderful colors it could be. And her tail!!! Don't get me started on her tail... {hehehe}

Ready to play along? All you have to do is:
  • Use ANY of the fabulous stamps from TGF.
  • Follow/Flip the sketch, remember have fun with it, but we need to see the elements.
  • Upload your card or project to the TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > WOW > Sketch1 by Rachel or you can click {here}.
  • The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.

Welcome back for another TGF-FFC Mystery Monday Case...

This week's case was chosen by DT Tasha.  Congratulations Faith Hofrichter!  Tasha chose your beautiful card for this week's challenge.  Be sure to contact Jessica for your free digi. :)

Faith used Fairy Eva for her card.  Isn't she precious?  I love the color combination and the fun layout.  So many pretty elements.
Markie's Mom

Sweet Dreams Marci

Good morning La-La Land friends!  Hope you're all having a nice weekend. I'm enjoying the wonderful weather we are having here in L.A.  At times it's been pretty warm with the sun shining and the white puffy clouds dancing in the sky - so pretty!  Other times it's been cold and windy making me wish I was back in bed, snuggled under the covers.  (hehehe)  Hope you're enjoying the weather where you are.  : )

For my share today I chose Sweet Dreams Marci w/ her little pal Panda bear.  I just love these two together.  And those cute bunny slippahs are perfect.  I had a left over Spellbinder frame from a recent card, decided to keep it just in case I could use it.  Luck was on my side as it fit perfectly on my card and was a perfect match for the baby blue Sakura patterned paper.   I paper-pieced her dress and bunny slippahs with another Sakura inspired paper in pink. Dry embossed the white card with a Sakura pattern and in the center used a strip of white which is embossed with a Swiss dot pattern.  Added a pretty big pink bow, some flowers and gems.  I'm definitely using this sweetie again.  : )

Now don't forget about the awesome 12 Copic Sketch Markers give-a-way Irina posted on the LLLC Blog.  For all the details click HERE and good luck!! : )

Mahalo for stopping by!  Be sure to upload any projects you've made using our Marci & Luka images into our Customer Gallery.  At the end of the month, one lucky person will be drawn to win a free stamp!  Will it be you?  : )

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday peeps!!!

Leanne

La-La Land Crafts Blog candy ~ 12 Copic Markers!

Happy Thursday everyone!!!  I'm sharing this post on behalf of Irina & Eric and the La-La Land Crafts DT.

We had a Survey on our Facebook Fan Page to find out what coloring mediums are being used the most when it comes to coloring our images.  We got 200 votes!!  WOW!!  And here are the results:

Copic Markers - 131
Distress Inks - 9
Prisma Pencils - 23
Other (mainly Promarkers) - 37

Well, the reason we had this survey is because we wanted to know what to give away ;-)  Now we know!!

Here is the list of the colors:

For my share I chose the ever adorable, Easter Anya.  What better way to welcome Spring in then with this sweet adorable little girl?  I used the last Saturday Sketch by fellow CA&F DT, Jen Shults, for my layout.  I want to acknowledge Jen for all her hard work with the Saturday sketches.  Thank you Jen!!

April 4th, MCM Mama Maxa
I love all the elements on her card.  She chose to use the always serene Snow Anya from the Rain, Snow, Shine Miss Anya collection.  Love the layout, the colors are nice & relaxing and check out all that texture!  For my card I chose Rain Anya for my image, and yes she is in the same set.

Sorry if you can't see the shine on her boots, umbrella and buttons on her jacket. I'm still working on the logistics of capturing that and glitter.  If you have any tips please feel free to offer, I would greatly appreciate it. :)
